Congratulations to Brad and Angie for receiving yet more recognization for their work. This time it’s from their peers, which makes it even more special, I think.

I thought Brad was wonderful in Se7en but that’s the only “early Brad” movie I’ve seen besides “Thelma & Louise” and you can’t really count that as acting. I did see “Babel” on cable the other day and thought Brad was incredible!! He really should have gotten a nomination for that movie. I’m looking forward to seeing “Benjamin Button” because it looks like a great job of acting on his part. My brother insists that I watch the “Jesse James” movie. He said it’s the best movie he has ever seen. He had no idea who Brad Pitt was, he just liked westerns, so when he was telling me about this great movie he had just seen, he said “It stars that young guy, you know, that one they always talk about because he’s sexy or something.” I laughed and said “Brad Pitt”? He goes, “Yeah, that guy can really act.” I laughed so hard. It was really funny the way my brother said that. He could care less about Hollywood gossip, he just loved that movie. It was on cable early this morning and I plan to watch it during the holidays.

As for Angelina . . . I saw “Changling” a few weeks ago on my birthday (it was a gift from my sister) and I still can’t get it out of my head. It is a truly great movie, well acted by all, even the children. Angelina was amazing and I would have been sorely disappointed if she had not received recognition for it. I don’t buy movies too often but “Changling” is on my list to buy the minute it is released.

Thanks for your great post. I agree with you totally. I am glad for both Brad and Angie. I’m a huge fan of both, but I have to admit that I am most excited for Brad. He has been over looked too many times. Babel, Jesse James, were great performances. I have seen them both numerous times. I have to say his film choices the last 4 years have been so on point. He has just grown so much as an actor. I think this family life is doing great things for him professionally as well as personally. It shows. I would love for him to win at least one of the awards he is nominated for. Just my wish. He and Angie have a beautiful family. Some people like to say things about Karma. I believe in Karma… That is why these wonderful things are happening for them When you do good things; good comes back to you.

I do have to say that I want to see the twins so bad. I am sure as Angie and Brad have both said that Knox is a “little Brad”. I bet they are way cute. I hope we see pics soon.

Today, Brad Pitt received the SAG leading actor nomination for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The film, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button was filmed and produced in Louisiana and is a wonderful piece of artistry and acting. It showcased New Orleans as well as any movie has done in the past and offered a touch of Katrina to drive home the movie’s theme. Pitt’s acting was nothing short of stunning.

The movie will be out in the theaters on Christmas Day.

The announcement comes at a time when Louisiana is facing a steep economic shortfall. Legislators could be looking at a reduction of tax credits incentives as a way to help with the budget.

Currently, Louisiana is third in the nation in movie-making which is no small feat given that the tax credit program is just a few years new.

Louisiana also has other entertainment-related tax credit programs which are beginning to break ground. Obviously, those other programs would have been fast forwarded had Katrina not taken us for a spin.

While Governor Jindal and the Louisiana Legislators consider cutting programs, it is critical that they expand rather than contract the tax credit programs. Louisiana is rich in culture and these information and creative arts tax credits will drive in the Pitts (as in Brad who now lives in New Orleans) but other big name players from various industries.

Louisiana has been known for its economy associated with its natural resources but it is time to go beyond the physical and move into the realm of intellectual capital which will keep our young kids home rather than forcing them to move to other cities just to make a living.

The nomination for Brad Pitt is also a nomination for Louisiana and we share his appreciation as he enjoys is birthday today. The nomination for a New Orleans and Louisiana based movie shows what this state can do and attract as we incentivize the new economy.

Despite the possibility of an actors’ strike, the Screen Actors Guild will have its annual award show in January, according to SAG President Alan Rosenberg.

“[The strike] is not going to affect our show,” Rosenberg tells PEOPLE, adding that SAG doesn’t “know whether we’ll go on strike or not” but that “people shouldn’t even worry about it.”

Rosenberg, who was present at Thursday’s SAG nominations announcement, says the Guild hasn’t started discussing the specifics of a strike.

“We’re talking about a strike authorization. It’s a very different thing,” he says. “Nothing unusual about it. Nothing radical about it. We need this tool to get the employers to come back to the table and do us some good faith, which they haven’t done since the beginning of these negotiations.”

I was wondering when someone was going to mention Ted’s real name. One day I was on his blog and he was going on and on about how mean Texans were to him as a gay child and how hard it was for him growing up - a real sob story. A few days later he had a bitter post about Angie and I someone had had enough of his crap and posted that Ted was full of shite, gave his real name, where he was from, said Ted was from a very well-to-do family, Ted never had to struggle for anything a day in his life, he wasn’t openly gay as teen, nobody picked on him and that BTW…he was so-and-so and had grown up with and gone to school with Ted all the way through high school and Ted was, is and always will be a big fat liar.

I went back to the site later that day…and the post had been deleted! ROTLFMAO! Somebody busted Ted’s ass good and Ted got rid of the evidence. At first I wasn’t sure the person really knew him…but why else would Ted delete the post if the person wasn’t telling the truth?

Thank god that everyone is alive and well …god bless the JPs and I hope everyone is having a great time with daddy and mommy and the whole extended family.

I expect this will be one of Brad’s most memorable b-days ever. He hasn’t ever celebrated one with six kids in tow. If it’s a zoo there on a normal day, can you imagine with him being away and then the party they are all psyched up for……….simultaneous madness.

Uh…first she’s got to find a distributor for Traveling before she can promote it. The distributor for Management is a two-bit op that’s known for putting films out in very limited release - think Chestica Simpson and the 8 theater run her last flick got - and then shuffling the movie off to DVD. Total theaterical run for that dog could be 1 weekend.

That’s another reason why X is pimping this movie - because if this thing tanks then Management might go straight to DVD. Ditto Traveling. X and Aaron Eckhart? Puh-leeze. The two of them couldn’t open a wet pack of smokes. I like Aaron Eckhart but GMAFB…he’s nobody. It’s his movie…X is once again playing second fiddle. How empowering is that? Second fiddle in every movie you make? Doesn’t sound like such a great ego booster to me…

That goes to show where the money is for pictures. Good for us we got to see them and bad for them.

I don’t recall as much tv coverage of celebs in the past. Even all the major tv stations and papers have something about celebs.

I agree that he was joking, but it’s also exactly why Affleck made that comment - because he knew it would be picked up by every media outlet on the planet, thus giving his own foray into Congo more press coverage. Coverage that his name alone can’t garner. He manipulated the press just like the press keeps accusing Angie of doing. All celebs do it - and now more and more of them are throwing Angie under the bus to get media attention for themselves. If she really is serious about lowering her public profile…then celebs like Affleck and X are going to have to find another way to get themselves attention.

The low level Fanistons sink to ruin Angie’s name never ceases to amaze me. You’d think they’d be more concerned with X’s raging coke and weed habits than what Angie’s doing…

I know most of us have made our comments about the X and her negative comments disguised as “humor”. But just wanted to add one last comment. Her “uncool” statement was so uncool. In Angie’s 2007 Vogue interview the reporter asked Angie if she wanted to talk to Jen and Angie said she would welcome it, if Jen wanted. Angie was holding out an olive branch. Even Matt Lauer on the Today Show said so when they did a segment on Angie’s Vogue interview in 2007. So here it is 2 years later and Vogue asks the X about Angie’s 2007 interview. A gracious person would have said something equally as gracious as Angie’s comment. But all the X could do was play the victim after 4 years. The world does not revolve around the X and her 4 year old divorce. Life is what you make of it. Four years after a divorce with no children involved, you cannot extend an olive branch to someone who extended it to you, then you have not filled your life with good things because you still see yourself as the victim and you want the world to always attach you to Brad and Angie. But they have moved on, the world has moved on, but the X has not. That is the uncool part of all of this.

While we breathlessly await the critics’ stellar reviews of the mutt movie, here is a ditzy appraisal from the ho herself.
