Happy Birthday, Brad Pitt!

Happy Birthday, Brad Pitt!

Brad Pitt turns 45 today and the LA Times just did a nice piece on him.

“I doubt time and gravity will be as kind as I was to myself,” Brad says with a smile. “It just made me think about the ticking clock. Am I in mid-life? Am I halfway there?. . . . Do I have 10 years, five years? And so what are those moments going to be that I do know I have, which is now?”

His latest movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, is out in theaters on Christmas Day. I saw a screening of it earlier this week and it is fantastic. It may be Golden Globe nominated for Best Drama but there are so many built-in hilarious moments as well. The entire cast does such a superb job — Brad, Cate Blanchett, Elle Fanning. JJ approved!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WILLIAM BRADLEY PITT!

Also love seeing the ho sinking lower and I didn’t think possible- lower. She needs to go away! She has no talent and I am sick of seeing her continue to use B&A to stay in the limelight! She is pathetic and will soon look like Joan Rivers with all the plastic surgery she gets- sorry, don’t mean to put JR down! The ho wants to be Angie and have her life wit hBrad, Well you had your chance_ now move on and get on with your loser man and sad life!!

” We each answer to God” for our choices ( Neither Jesus nor His Apostles ever instituted “divorce” processes or “authorities” for Christians regarding divorce or any other matter - See Matthew 23:8-11 - We are all servants of Christ under the New Covenant which is a “covenant of personal freedom” under Jesus Christ).
Neither Jesus nor His Apostles set-up “divorce professionals” within the Christian community.
Activating the divorce right was at that time a “personal” choice to be based on the “immoral abuse” of our God-given” human rights” within Christian morality as taught by Jesus Christ and remains so under the New Covenant.
When Jesus chose the word He used regarding the question of divorce rights He was not limiting our “human rights” within marriage to sexual faithfulness alone:
Matthew 19:9 “And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
The Holy Spirit spoke through the Apostles.
The Apostle Paul shows he understood the teachings of Jesus on the “right to divorce” for just-cause and affirmed that there is a right to have an “expectation for personal peace” and moral living within marriage (along with every other human right being provided).
These”human rights come from God” and “these rights remain” within all spheres of our lives, including within marriage.
Every believer in Jesus Christ who has removed him/herself from a morally lawless past and responded to the God of the Bible by obeying the directive to “put on” Christ through baptism.

JP fans have some great video makers in our midst - they have a real knack for finding just the right songs and pictures.

Thanks PT, for sharing your fan experience. It’s pretty interesting. So did you celebrate 7 Dec 2005 as well?
-
+++++++++++++
-
Do you mean January 7, 2005 - the day Brad announced he was dumping X? If so…we have a big party on here every year! BBBWWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! We also like to celebrate Aug 19 - the day the judge signed the divorce papers; and Oct 2 - the day the divorce became final. That’s why the hens are so bitter - there’s so many days to rejoice and celebrate!
-
BTW - what the trolls don’t understand is this: Even if Brad and Angie don’t make it in the long run - like over 50% of American couples - he still ain’t going back to X! Therefore, it’s win-win for us! LOL…

YOU’RE BIBLE THUMPING ON A GOSSIP BLOG! I’M PRETTY SURE THERE ARE A FEW PASSAGES AGAINST GOSSIPING IN THE BIBLE, TOO…YET…HERE…YOU…ARE.

http://www.nationalpost.com/arts/story.html?id=1103233

Brad Pitt might double his anticipation on Oscar night next February. Pitt has an opportunity to score two nominations. He’s already had some great buzz and decent reviews for his dim-witted fitness instructor in the Coen brothers farce Burn After Reading released last September. And pre-release previews have suggested his title character in the fantasy The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (opening on Christmas Day) just might get some Academy Award love, too.

With Angelina Jolie and their brood of six, Pitt and family seem to be making headlines wherever they go. But the former sexiest man alive might be making news for a different reason when the Academy nods are handed out on Jan. 25 in preparation for the Oscar soiree on Feb. 22

In the David Fincher film based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, Pitt portrays a man who ages backwards at the turn of the 20th century. Playing his love interest is Cate Blanchett –an actress who knows all about that double Oscar nomination thing.

Last spring, Blanchett became the 11th performer ever to pick up two Oscar nominations in the same year; one in the supporting actress category for her enigmatic Bob Dylan definition in I’m Not There and a best actress nod for Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

*****Coincidence or not, Pitt’s been choosing some challenging roles since hooking up with Jolie. There was Babel –again with Blanchett –and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, which he starred in and produced. Pitt’s one and only Oscar nomination arrived with Twelve Monkeys in 1995.*****

“Well, I just want to work with people that I like and respect,” says Pitt, who turned 45 on Dec. 18. “The different elements of anything I try just add to the many flavours that I see in a film.”

Still, his family comes first. And that has changed Pitt’s focus from being an international star to his duties as a dad. “I don’t feel defined by the work in any way now, and I feel free because of it,” he maintains.

“Actually,” he adds, “the family has freed me to just follow what’s interesting to me.”

Saddled out of the gate as the presumptive winner of this year’s Oscar for Best Picture, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is top-heavy with expectations. The nearly three-hour film is expanded from a very short story by literary god F. Scott Fitzgerald. Script duties fell to Eric Roth, who crafted the Academy-lauded life odyssey of Forrest Gump, which Ben Button structurally resembles. Gump had Tom Hanks as the title character, and Button has Brad Pitt. Believe me, Pitt has the more daunting task. He plays Ben from infanthood, a baby born with the wizened, room-clearing face of a man in his 80s. How’d they do that? Digital face painting, baby, which means slapping Pitt’s computer-aged mug on tiny bodies as Ben ages backward till he reaches full growth. Digital kicks in again when Pitt, 44, has to look way younger.

“Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show.” What Button shows is that Ben is ultimately not the hero of his own life or his own movie. He gets inside our head, that’s for sure, but, frustratingly, we never get inside his.

P.S.: The Academy won’t mind a bit.

It is funny how some critics are really analyzing Benjamin Button and trying to get into the psyche of Ben Button. It is a fantasy movie. However, I guess that is how powerful the film is being received by some.

1 million to children affected by the Iraq war while Angie has given more than $3 million to the UNHCR and $100,000 to Global Action for Children.

What’s that, $4 million so far?

Brad has made countless donations to his own charity Make It Right, which is helping to rebuild New Orleans.

Pitt has also donated $100,000 to fight Proposition 8, California’s November ballot initiative that would overturn the state Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriages.

Celebs still have 9 calendar days left to out-donate each other…

Hello all fans. I’m loving how some of you are really getting into the holiday spirit.

I can’t wait for TCCOBB. If you have ADD don’t go. It’s a hefty movie and if your attention span is that of a finger snap, then forget it, this movie is not for you. That includes all the ADD film critics out there. Honestly, how can you call yourself a film critic if you can’t sit through a long movie?

Our Endless Numbered Days

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button turns away hopeful from a long, unflinching look at reality. Oh, and it’s one of the best movies of the year.
By David Sessions

The existential issues in Benjamin Button are nothing more than a natural outgrowth of the story—they don’t get repeated ad nauseum and morphed into didactic “themes.” It’s that restraint that makes this movie so much better than its competitors in the current Oscar race. And its adept storytelling—never once veering into sentimentality or romanticism—is what makes it so much better than the expensively produced dramas that enjoy box-office success the rest of the year. Fincher is right to insist that Benjamin Button isn’t his “romantic” movie. It’s nothing of the kind. It’s a movie about death that turns away hopeful from a long, unflinching look at reality. And we all know how much we could use some of that right now.

Frenchy @ 12/22/2008 at 1:31 pm
I think most of these critics have ADD especially the paid bloggers who are pimping their fly by night web site, paid to trash a movie by a rival studio or took a high school film class. Not much to them.

Roger Friedman is back on the crackpipe, y’all…

Friedman’s got a story today about RoboBride having to decide to either do her last Broadway show on Jan 11 or attend the GGs with her Owner…then check out what he says…
-
Cruise is like the King of the Globes, their most desired participant for TV ratings, bigger even than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

I’m sure you’re dying ot know what RoboBride decided to do…so here’s the link…

If something’s cheesy, I just run. I can’t stand cheese. I just can’t do it. I tried. I’d make a lot more money if I had a little cheese in my arsenal. I just can’t do it. Have you seen Benjamin Button yet?

Q: No.

Darren Aronofsky: I wonder how much cheese. Fitcher can’t do cheese either or has a hard time with it.

Q: We’re supposed to be seeing it in two weeks.

I love this reveiw especially this line, ” Gump had Tom Hanks as the title character, and Button has Brad Pitt. Believe me, Pitt has the more daunting task.” I was afraid they would hold the “computer-aged” technology against him.. I’m glad to see it is being recognized how more complicated that actually made it for Brad.

I just finished Peter Travers’ review and thought the same thing. I think a lot of critics are missing the point. They want BB to see bleed on screen (emotionally) and that’s NOT what the film makers were going for at all. Would they really want to sit through a 3 hour movie of someone complaining about their fate? I sure as hell don’t. I can do that my damned self. Hell, haven’t we just been talking about having to put up with 4 years of X’s whining? I’m not going to pay money to see a movie where the hero spends the entire movie whining about his looks. They didn’t even do that in The Elephant Man!

I wonder how Fincher felt about Brad doing ‘cheese,’ literally by even BEING with the TV sit-com hack. lol
.
Oh, and by the way - about the Golden Globe thing with Cruise. Don’t you find it interesting that they’ve already announced via reps/press releases or whatever that Katie won’t be going with Tom - I have a feeling Tom is purposely faking people out regarding this whole thing, then at the 11th hour he’ll ’surprise,’ with Katie showing up. It just seems like it’s all being done to garner some interest/drama around his (their?) appearance. For Tom, even though he likes Brad, he’s always been competitive with him in a major way - so to get shown up in a big big BIG way by Brad & Angelina would kinda sting. Breathlessly announcing that, ‘Yes, OMG Katie WAS able to get released to come with Tommy C.!!’ I can smell the shenanigans already. If I didn’t think it before, Fox’s Friedman MUST be bribe-able to the powers that be behind Cruise - as with that asinine quote that Cruise is a bigger get than ‘Brangelina,’ I have a feeling something is a foot, and he’s helping out with the plotting. That will be how Cruise works up some excitement for his appearance - making people wonder if lame-o Katie will show.
.
Remember when Katie was pregnant, and like NO ONE cared. Then she gave birth and like, NO ONE cared. So what did Tommy boy do?? He hid Suri away for such a good long time, people started suspecting her of being Klaatu and/or wondering if she was the spitting image of L.Ron Hubbard..what’s wrong with her?!! Everyone wondered! ..and he hid her away, and hid her way…for months and months - until (((BAM!!!))) 12 page GLOSSY in Vanity Fair!! LOL Suri appeared on the scene not as new born infant, but an older cutie who looked definitively not too much like Tom. Speculation once again started anew. Then began the Suri fashion marches in her $400-$1000 shoes and duds. Day in and day out - what better way to have Suri get more face time than other celeb babies — a daily fashion show as Mom walks to work. lolol Mission Accomplished. It stook a lot of planning, but Suri is the most high profile, photographed tot ever. She may not have been the first Madame Tussaud’s wax replica baby as Shiloh JP was, but she might be there 2nd toddler…I’m sure Tom’s working that angle now.
.
Tom knows he can’t bring the date that would garner the real excitement, Suri — but he can play a few, ‘Will she or won’t she?’ tricks with the press about Katie.
.
:-D
