Angelina Jolie Covers Germany’s Comopolitan
Angelina Jolie takes the January 2009 cover of Germany’s Comopolitan. Interview highlights as follows:
On finding time for her family, acting career and commitment as a UN ambassador: “Well, I do take my time outs. And most of all I do receive support from Brad [Pitt]. We are a good team. That is important to me and gives me strength… I cannot sit quietly while others die of hunger and children. My commitment for the United Nations I do not want to abandon. The play has no greater priority. In February, I still turn a movie, then I suppose one years off.”
On surviving each day without a nervous breakdown: “I’m very disciplined. I have a balanced diet and among other things I do Pilates. If I’m fit I feel more comfortable and I do have a lot more energy.”
On playing the role of a mother in Changeling, whose son disappears without a trace: “Just the idea of such a possibility made me go completely crazy. Initially, I wanted to cancel it. But the strength and self abandonment of this woman made be accept the role.”

Brad Pitt might double his anticipation on Oscar night next February. Pitt has an opportunity to score two nominations. He’s already had some great buzz and decent reviews for his dim-witted fitness instructor in the Coen brothers farce Burn After Reading released last September. And pre-release previews have suggested his title character in the fantasy The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (opening on Christmas Day) just might get some Academy Award love, too.
With Angelina Jolie and their brood of six, Pitt and family seem to be making headlines wherever they go. But the former sexiest man alive might be making news for a different reason when the Academy nods are handed out on Jan. 25 in preparation for the Oscar soiree on Feb. 22
In the David Fincher film based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, Pitt portrays a man who ages backwards at the turn of the 20th century. Playing his love interest is Cate Blanchett –an actress who knows all about that double Oscar nomination thing.
Last spring, Blanchett became the 11th performer ever to pick up two Oscar nominations in the same year; one in the supporting actress category for her enigmatic Bob Dylan definition in I’m Not There and a best actress nod for Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
*****Coincidence or not, Pitt’s been choosing some challenging roles since hooking up with Jolie. There was Babel –again with Blanchett –and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, which he starred in and produced. Pitt’s one and only Oscar nomination arrived with Twelve Monkeys in 1995.*****
“Well, I just want to work with people that I like and respect,” says Pitt, who turned 45 on Dec. 18. “The different elements of anything I try just add to the many flavours that I see in a film.”
Still, his family comes first. And that has changed Pitt’s focus from being an international star to his duties as a dad. “I don’t feel defined by the work in any way now, and I feel free because of it,” he maintains.
“Actually,” he adds, “the family has freed me to just follow what’s interesting to me.”

This is an old picture. These days it’s a rare photographer who can capture Angelina’s beauty.
Funny! Angelina proposing to Brad…LOL! That is a good one.
I am sick to death of her, and Brad, and Jennifer.
No my name is Julia and I just responded to your reply which you admitted that you think Angelina is a sociapath. I just find it odd that you a so called fan would say that. I have never said she was I don’t know her, nor do I pretend to like some of you so called fans. I find it funny how some of you pretend to know her personally inside and out. The only the I know for sure is that she went after a married man lied about then told the truth about it and she travels to foreign countries trying to spread good and she has wants a big family.

,b>Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly debating on whether to tie the knot this Christmas. The trashy rags claim the couple, who have allegedly agreed to wed if a 2 billion dollar prenup is in place, is undecided on if they should plan a Christmas wedding.
“Brad proposed to Angelina recently and suggested a Christmas wedding. When Angelina insisted they hold off, Brad put her on a major guilt trip by telling her the kids want them to be married,” says a paid to lie tabloid staffer.. Angelina thinks a wedding right now it biting off more than they can chew. She would like to slow down and go through some couples counseling.”

Project? I love Projects! I’m gonna email you right now!!!
Oh goody the old “she went after a Married man” card again. When all else fails, beat a dead horse again. Where would Whiny X be, if she did not play the victim card. I know her fans would not have anything to whine about. Why she could have been another Halle, Nicole, Reese, or Uma. I bet you $2.50 BP went after AJ and chased her all around the world. The results are a happy couple with 6 adorable children, successful careers and great humanitarians. Life has a way of balancing things out. There is someone for everyone. It would be nice if the bitter hens, let ole girl(Whiny X) map her own path in life and find herself without the bitter enablers ranting from blog to blog.
She can not tell the truth if she tried. What a major photoshop job…
Okay, so there’s team Aniston and team Jolie. . . Sad. People get a life and stop attacking these ladies who have a life and try to make the best out of it. It’s their job.
You guys should exercise, and maybe photoshop a picture of yourself just for fun!!! lol! I’ve done it. . . with perfect skin and everything, BECAUSE just like you, Jen, Angie. . . no one’s perfect.
Angelina is doing pilates now? since? lol
She’s probably doing it to be more flexible for the action film she’s going to film - Edwina A. Salt. After that, she’ll stop.
Angelina is not the type to exorcise. She’s not toned. She’s skinny.
excercise*
Well I guess the good part about this magazine is that it shows how popular Angelina is world wide and it helps promote the Changeling which opens in Germany soon. Plus Angelina looks great as she always does. She should actually wear that color. It looks good on her.

Verdict: It takes some patience, but the end result is intensely satisfying.
This is a curious film indeed. Director David Fincher’s (Zodiac, Fight Club) adaptation of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, originally a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is a beautiful but unusual and rambling tale.
The twist in this fantasy coming-of-age story is that Brad Pitt’s character Benjamin Button is born physically resembling an old man and lives his life backwards, growing younger instead of older.
A lyrical fairytale, Fincher allows himself almost three hours to let the story unfold in its own good time.
The reward, if you’re patient enough, is a melancholic, subtle and unexpectedly captivating dissertation on life, love and death.
Born in New Orleans, Benjamin’s mother dies giving birth to him on the night the Great War ends.
His father, distressed by his son’s grotesque appearance, abandons him the the stairs of a rest home - ironically, the perfect place for a baby born as an 80-year-old man.
Unofficially adopted by Queenie (Henson), an attendant in the rest home, Benjamin’s childhood is challenging and lonely, but he survives crippling arthritis and other elderly afflictions to take us on the extradinaory adventure that is his life, viewed from the point of view of a man who knows how and when it will end.
*****Brad Pitt reminds us he can do much more than look pretty, and puts in a restrained and moving performance.*****
He’s joined by a stellar cast, including Tilda Swinton as Benjamin’s first love Elizabeth Abbott, the extraordinarily graceful Cate Blanchett as his soulmate, a ballerina named Daisy, and Taraji P. Henson as the delightful Queenie, who injects much appreciated humour into what is a sombre affair.
Though all these performances are worthy of mention, it’s the makeup and special effects crew who have truly enabled Fincher to pull off this visually tricky story.
The makeup on Blanchett and Pitt will leave you wondering whether it’s truly them beneath their aged looks, and the CGI effects rendering Pitt as a 7-year-old boy in the body of a 70-year-old is remarkable.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is not perfect, but this mature and intelligent work from Fincher gets under your skin. The story reels you in slowly and while it takes time to relax into Fincher’s gentle pace and unnecessary segueways, there is something pleasurable about wallowing in this beautifully shot, cleverly designed, and leisurely paced film.
The outcome may be inevitable from the start, but the emotional punch it delivers captures you by surprise, confirming that this eclectic and overly long journey was worth the watch.
let’s see how fast this cover will travel to all the yucky blogs with their yucky commentary. Obviously it’s old but let’s see what the copycats do….
#60 Julia,
So you know for sure she went after a married man??? You mean you were there - on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Do tell! Better still if you have photos proving that or eye witness accounts of their alleged affair. Funny how none of those proofs have ever leaked to the media and such material would be worth millions!
You obviously choose to believe the worst about people you don’t know which sadly only speaks badly about you not them!!!
No Kate I choose to believe Angelina and now Brad has admitted. Now if you are calling them liars go right ahead.
She looks gorgeous. Love her!
