Daniel Radcliffe Visits ‘Spring Awakening’
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe visits the cast of Spring Awakening on Broadway backstage at The Eugene O’Neill Theater in New York City on Sunday night.
The 19-year-old British actor supported his fellow Broadway stars, Spring Awakening cast members Hunter Parrish (Melchior), Alexandra Socha (Wendla) and Gerard Canonico (Moritz).
Spring Awakening, the Tony Award-winning rock musical with music by Duncan Sheik, announced it will close on Broadway on January 18, 2009.
Daniel is currently featured in his own Broadway play, Equus.

are you sure Francesca.december boys independent movie after all its very successfull in box office.for example driving lesson to begin play festivals but december boys then successfull DL.
and equus.equus is important play.if you say very terrbile play thats mean you are not real theater audience.because equus is very important play.(mexica,china,some europe countries stage this play)
of course equus had trouble filling the seats every night but only equus? what about all my sons(spite of magazine news) and other plays.we knows a lot of plays taken away for this.dont worry if equus is not successful they taken away it.

I have to wonder what the motivation is to act on stage. I mean you have to give eight performances a week, each over two hours long. You have to remember the lines, get your emotions worked up, etc., etc., etc. And the pay can’t be anywhere near what you get for a movie. In a movie you shoot the scene once (you might have to do it over several times, but that’s it) and most of the day you are doing almost nothing. And then you are through with it. Stage actors are gluttons for punishment it seems to me.
By the way December Boys was such a flop in the US its gross was only a few dollars more than fifty thousand. Terrible. Dan’s big success has been Potter. Once that is gone he’s going to find making lots of money much more difficult. I still can’t decide whether I think he will become a big star or just sort of fade away.

wwooww.. dan you are so hot as always!!.. so,, handsome,,, very down to earth guy,, he is not acting in a celebrity way,,,you know what i mean… come on he is the most popular teen actor in theworld, of course bec… of harry potter but he is not arrogant like every teen actors,,, he is not WANNA BE… he always live his life in a simple way…
Many authorities on acting think you have to have hangups and be conflicted and somewhat neurotic to be a good actor. Dan would appear to give that idea the lie. As far as we know, he has had a very happy life so far, lives in a family where everyone gets along, and is not neurotic in the least. The only reason I can see for his liking to act is because he isn’t much good at anything else, or so he himself says.
Went to You Tube to take a look at his August interview with Conan to see if I wanted to watch it again on TV and it was removed. Other interviews he has done have also been removed. I guess whoever owns them wants to rerun them with ads to make more MONEY. In any case, it is hardly worthwhile to watch him give an interview any more. He says the same things over and over and over again and his vocabulary is still compsed of “awesome” “fantastic” “amazing” “incredible”, etc., etc. and little else. The kid has become a actor-robot who has lost any spontaneity or charm. So sad. Dannyboy=money making machine.
Dan recently appeared on Conan. He said a friend of his, Robin, is visiting him from the UK. He also said Robin is staying in a hostel that doesn’t have TV. I found it strange that Dan, worth they say forty million dollars, could not have put his friend up at a modest hotel that does have TV. I mean how stingy can you be?
Dan evidently is having difficult with people in the audience at his play who try to talk to him while he is acting. That must be a real ***** and distraction. But of course they asked for it by putting people right on the stage, although elevated from it, so that they are that close to him. If he finds it annoying (and who wouldn’t) they should remove the seats that are on the stage.
