Brad Pitt: Being With Angelina Jolie is a Natural Direction

Brad Pitt reveals just how much portraying the backwards-aging title character in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has colored his perspective on his varied life. Sitting down with the L.A. Times, Brad shares new insights:

On age versus youth: “Once you hit 40, you start reexamining the math of it all… I’ll trade wisdom for youth any day.”

On finding real love: “It’s a tragedy in the sense that any love involves loss, and that’s the risk you take. And the greater the love, the greater the loss. I certainly feel that now with the woman I’m with, and the children that I have. But whatever the course may be, this time together is extraordinary.”

On how being with Angelina Jolie changed his life: “I had a whole other life and I got to experience a lot. And I probably got away with more than I should. And it kind of ran its course, you know, it kind of hit a dead end. [Fatherhood is] the direction I always thought I would go in. But not until, with Angie and it felt like a natural evolution, a natural direction.”

On his work as an actor: “I don’t have to grope as much for the character… I can get there quicker, so it’s not as much trial and error. Also, as I get older, more experiences, I’m more fine-tuned in what I’m after, what I think speaks in the piece. And lastly I want to hurry and get home to my kids.”

Was it just me or Tilda looked so much like Cate in afew scenes? I scared alittle bit.

Did you hear what Fincher said on Charlie Rose? That Cate and Tilda look alike and that Benjamin has “a type”. LOL. And he said it was Brad who suggested Tilda. I’d like to know who it was that Fincher wanted when Brad told him they could get a better actress than the one Fincher was going to hire.
***********
PT, Fincher wanted Helena Bonham Carter, Brad’s Fight Club co-star. But Brad wanted Tilda.

I am very happy Brad suggested Tilda because she was excellent for the role.

BTW… I so agree that Brad’s swagger should be bottled. And just a whiff of it merits a pilgrimage or quest to get to it. Dayum!!!

~

And I felt a little pervy when he was pulled his suspenders onto his shoulders when he was on the Chelsea. He was still old but sweet Jeebus!!!

LOL!! Piper, young or old, he is hot

No, that’s not what Fincher said. He said the Tilda suggestion was just like the Helena Bonham Carter suggestion. She was a better suggestion for Fight Club than the person they had originally

Was that comment directed towards me chef boy. Why don’t you man up and speak directly to me. All this mealy mouth way of speak that you have with the “hahahaha” **** is fcuking ridiculous. Acting like a fcuking pu$$y on a gossip blog. By not directing your criticism at the person. Spending time on Brad’s thread gossiping like b*tch about another man that you don’t know.
_

And what I said was facts b*tch boy. Brad has been working in HW for 20 years, and has remained at the top for those 20 years. He has studios giving him scripts out the wazzu and paying him out of the box office receipts. That is how a man handles his BUSINESS. Not sit on a gossip blog talking about another man’s life….TOOL

Hello everyone, Lurking a bit
I love all the comments about the movie.. I want to talk about it so much, but don’t want to spoil it for others.. That being said I do have to say one thing.. I love that Benjamin and Daisy got together in their 40’s. That to me was really amazing. The writer could have had their love affair start earlier. But the fact that it happened at that time was truly beautiful. Brad has the best walk around. His swagger is just to swoon over. My boyfriend and I took my Mom, and she did not like Daisy at all. She called her tramp.. Well… she did grow up in the end. But Brad was great. I really hope that you all will talk up the movie. I know that some people will not see it because of some stupid prejudices. But when people go back to work on Monday, and talk about movies and what they did over the holiday, i expect that more people will see BB. I will see it again because it is the kind of film that must be seen more then once.

PT,

Scarlett was not a conniving *****. Sorry, certain ex can’t hold a candle for Scarlett, not many women of the time can, let alone today women. She was oozing charisma and a responsible woman who took care of her family and a host of strangers. And Rhett wasn’t a big catch, more like an *******.

PR guru Howard Bragman writes in his new book, Where’s My Fifteen Minutes?: Get Your Company, Your Cause, or Yourself the Recognition You Deserve ,” that

“a reporter asked her [Angelina Jolie] a question she hadn’t gotten before, and instead of answering it immediately, she put her head down so low it was out of the shot. The cameraman had nothing to shoot. Angelina collected her thoughts, and only then got up and gave a great answer.”

Cate Blanchett didn’t get nominated and she played a vital role in the movie. But I must add she didn’t come across as someone that you wish he had stayed with ya now. Now the little girl daisy was so beautiful. Cate is too but she played the middle aged woman better. I liked her but there was something missing on her passion. He seemed more passionate of her. She was a bit arrogant.
They did do some CGI on her face as a young woman and she contends it all her and you all know better than that. Brad even admits that it was computer work on the young Brad. You can tell one of his eyes looked kinda funny . There was some chemistry but it wasn’t that passionate, sexy chemistry. Maybe he wanted Tilda because he knew her and wanted to work with her again.

And my God she was so overshadowed at the premiere by you know who that you would think she never existed in the film.

I still contend that Daisy was very hurt that Benjamin fell in love with Elizabeth. Her expression alone after she read his postcard conveyed that. And when they met again at the rest home, when she brought up his love affair, there was a definite flicker of jealousy and anger in her eyes. And when they went to dinner, they even had cavier and vodka just like Benjamin and Elizabeth did, and I somehow doubt that Benjamin was the one who ordered it. That woman was trying so hard to out-Elizabeth Elizabeth that she screwed up a perfect opportunity to connect with Benjamin. Daisy even conceded that point on her deathbed, stating that young girls are clueless about love. She also finally accepted Elizabeth as an integral part of Benjamin’s life.

I agree that Daisy was jealous that Benjamin fell for Elizabeth Abbott, but I disagree that it was Daisy who ordered the caviar and vodka. The look on her face as she tasted the caviar was kind of like, “This stuff is gross!” I think that was Benjamin trying to impress Daisy. Trying to show her that she’s not the only one who’s traveled and had experiences. Because really, up to that point, Daisy had done all the talking about what SHE had been doing and experiencing.
