Brad Pitt: Being With Angelina Jolie is a Natural Direction

Brad Pitt: Being With Angelina Jolie is a Natural Direction

Brad Pitt reveals just how much portraying the backwards-aging title character in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has colored his perspective on his varied life. Sitting down with the L.A. Times, Brad shares new insights:

On age versus youth: “Once you hit 40, you start reexamining the math of it all… I’ll trade wisdom for youth any day.”

On finding real love: “It’s a tragedy in the sense that any love involves loss, and that’s the risk you take. And the greater the love, the greater the loss. I certainly feel that now with the woman I’m with, and the children that I have. But whatever the course may be, this time together is extraordinary.”

On how being with Angelina Jolie changed his life: “I had a whole other life and I got to experience a lot. And I probably got away with more than I should. And it kind of ran its course, you know, it kind of hit a dead end. [Fatherhood is] the direction I always thought I would go in. But not until, with Angie and it felt like a natural evolution, a natural direction.”

On his work as an actor: “I don’t have to grope as much for the character… I can get there quicker, so it’s not as much trial and error. Also, as I get older, more experiences, I’m more fine-tuned in what I’m after, what I think speaks in the piece. And lastly I want to hurry and get home to my kids.”

Was it just me or Tilda looked so much like Cate in afew scenes? I scared alittle bit.
-
++++++++++++++
-
Did you hear what Fincher said on Charlie Rose? That Cate and Tilda look alike and that Benjamin has “a type”. LOL. And he said it was Brad who suggested Tilda. I’d like to know who it was that Fincher wanted when Brad told him they could get a better actress than the one Fincher was going to hire.
***********
PT, Fincher wanted Helena Bonham Carter, Brad’s Fight Club co-star. But Brad wanted Tilda.
-
+++++++++++++++++
-
How do you know that? Did Fincher or someone else say it in another interview? I know that on Charlie Rose he pointed out that it was Brad who suggested Helena Bonham Carter for Marla in Fight Club. Besides, HBC wouldn’t have been availabe to do CCOBB because she was shooting Sweeney Todd at the time.

BB is now #100 in IMDB TOP 250. So, for now, Brad has five movies, which are included in that list.

No, that’s not what Fincher said. He said the Tilda suggestion was just like the Helena Bonham Carter suggestion. She was a better suggestion for Fight Club than the person they had originally
-

Okay. I thought Ummmm had just misheard what Fincher said on Charlie Rose. Fincher was just trying to make the point that Brad has helped him cast integral parts in the past and that’s why he mentioned Brad suggesting HBC for Fight Club.
-
Also - ITA, Tilda Swinton nailed it in CCOBB. Her screen time was minimal, but she made the most of it. I also liked that they did that little update and we got to see that Elizabeth DID finally realize at least one of her life goals.

The Eagles put a beat down on Dalls. That first half the Eagles’ offense was on fire and the second half the defense put an exclamation point on the victory. Your Giants better watch out because if the Eagles make it past Minnesota, as badly as the Giants have played the last 4 weeks, they’re going to be watching the NFC conference game and Super Bowl from their winter homes…

PT,

Scarlett was not a conniving *****. Sorry, certain ex can’t hold a candle for Scarlett, not many women of the time can, let alone today women. She was oozing charisma and a responsible woman who took care of her family and a host of strangers. And Rhett wasn’t a big catch, more like an *******.
-
++++++++++++
-
LOL. Hey, listen - I HATE GWTW. I think it’s one of the most overblown pieces of claptrap ever. For me, it’s right up there with The Titanic. BUT…Scarlett WAS a conniving btich. Rhett may not have been anything to write home about, but Scarlett wasn’t exactly the catch of the day either! LOL. I never argue about GWTW with people. I just don’t care enough about the movie to bother. If I had to choose between watching it or Titanic, then bring on the big boat and the Sominex…

Good evening to all BAMPZSKV fans. I hope everyone had a very good Sunday. I finally saw CCBB today. It is very good movie. I think they are right when they say Brad was born to play this role.

IMHO there is a gentleness about Brad that is reflected in the way he relates to Angie and his children. And yet he is very manly and masculine. When he was the old Benjiman I didn’t even think about Brad.

I am glad to hear others say it. But I too found Daisy annoying. Could someone please tell me what was said about the humming bird. Someone starting coughing and I miss what was said about humming birds.

The only part that bummed me out was Queenie. How come Benjiman didn’t know what happened? And it happened so quickly. There was nothing that led up to that. Taraji was wonderful. And she truly loved BB. When he told her you are my mother I felt a tug at my heart. Although I never cried. It wasn’t sad like that for me. It was more intellectual than emotional. Like how, why, etc.

I know I missed somethings. Therefore I will see it again. It placed second which is wonderful considering that it is playing in 700 fewer theaters. Oh, I went to the 11:30 AM show and it was about 75 % full.

This morning before I left home I saw four commercials for the dog movie. None of them showed the x. They emphasized the dog. No humans at all. So how can this be her movie. There isn’t even a hint that she is in the movie. But let her have this victory, if this is what it is, and maybe she will go away.

There were so many funny moments, and lines that I started thinking I wasn’t seeing correctly. I loved the scence when he was lying on the floor beside Queenie’s bed and he reaches his hand up to hold her’s. I also liked when BB said he wasn’t going to sleep in Queenie’s bed room anylonger

I will see it again this coming week. It stays with you. It has such a human feel about it. Just for the record, Brad is fine. And he is a darn good actor also. Peace.

LOL!! I am not worry, my Giants will be fine against whomever they have to play in 2 weeks at the meadowlands :). And just because they beat my Giants the last time, don’t mean they will beat them again, that is if they get by the Vikings.

I was hoping the Chargers/Broncos game will be a good game but the Broncos played like cr*p and the game was over by the first the first halfnow I have to listen to people at work tomorrow all bragging tomorrow. I can’t stand Rivers

I too LOVED the relationship between Benjamin and Queenie. Unconditional love.

Can somebody answer this 4 me @ 12/28/2008 at 11:48 pm

It is driving me nuts who the remining 8 grandkids belong too. On the one video the hosts said Grammy Pitt said all 14 grandkids would be with them for the hollydays. Brad and Angie have six, but I thought his bro and sis only have 3 each. I know once the tabs said his sis adopted a baby from africa, but that has never been confirmed. Who are the other 2 kids belonging too?

Yo PT–as I am searching for the infamous “I slep with Brad the first night via a blind date our managers” I’m hitting great old articles…I won’t post them here but if you want to see them I’ll ship them over :-)

Can somebody answer this 4 me @ 12/28/2008

We don’t have the answer. We had the same question after Mrs Pitt said it during BB premiere. All we have are old articles and from that material both Doug and Julie had three kids each.

hey custodian,
.
sorry to burst your bubble.. but you’re not pitt or jolie - stop trying to live through them. hahahahahahaha

For me, it doesn’t matter whether a role of an actor/actress is supporting or lead. The most important thing is how a certain performance leave a mark on a film. Questions such as, did he/ she give justification to the role? Is it believable? Does the character suits the performer? Is the performance worth watching? Can the viewers hold in their minds that while watching that actor/ actress, they can still believe in the character?

Besides, Angie is not known to be particular with whether she’s playing a supporting role or not. In fact, she even sometimes shortens her screening time & speaking lines in some films like Wanted. It’s already been proven and a given that she can be effective in both. She left a very distinctive & superb mark on doing supporting roles in Beowulf, Wanted and even Alexander. Her Girl, Interrupted role was just a support to the lead role of Winona (who BTW was also good in that movie), however, it was Angie’s effective portrayal of Lisa that reaped the high accolades & awards.

And we know Angie has nothing to prove anymore as she has already received various awards doing supporting or lead roles.

4Q, did you notice Benjamin got jealous when Queenie said she was pregnant. I thought that was kind of cute.

The sit works for a little while, then Jared adds thes ads and it goes bonkers. Peace

On CR DF told Brad about Tilda for role and Brad isn’t there someone better. DF told Brad to call him backin 5 min or he (DF) was making the call. BP called back and said that Tilda would me right for the part. DR asked Brad what made him change his mind and Brad said “I don’t know”

Imdb.com has a list of the 350 all-time worldwide box office movies. #1 is Titanic, which I thought was the most overhyped piece of cráp ever made. All the Harry Potter films and the LOTR movies and the Star Wars movies are way up there. But guess what else is on the list:

#35 — Kung Fu Panda, $633 million
#66 — Troy, $481 million
#81 — Ocean’s 11, $444 million
#86 — Mr and Mrs Smith, $428 million
#139 — Ocean’s 12, #351 million
#141 — Se7en, $350 million
#176 — Ocean’s 13, $311 million
#246 — Lara Croft, Tomb Raider $251 million
#285 — Gone in Sixty Seconds $230 million

#342 — The Break-Up $202 million

Guess Aniston’s movies don’t play too well overseas.

Watch CCOBB in the next two — three weeks.

The hens are still whining because they are not X fans as it were. They are simply furious that the gorgeous one got the prize. Bet they hated the ‘Angie’ type in high school too.
They merely relate to the dumping….it is all personal. It is not their righteous indignation regardind the ‘morality’ of anything to do with the triangle, merely the state of X’s victimization that has become their cause celeb.
It takes a certain degree of wholeness as a person to admire stellar qualities in others………as we do the JP’s. They don’t admire X, they just groove with her anger and jealousy re AJ. Sheep, they are. Objective individuals can critically analyze a set of events based on credible info….which is why they are stuck, like their idol, like a needle on a warped ‘45 record.
True fans of X would focus their blogging on her achievements and admirable traits …but as that is tantamount to a dry hump, they are left to wishing and hoping for the demise of the JP’s star power or love which is an exercise in futility. If they took the same energy and worked on thier own shortcomings I expect they would begin to relate to self-actualized and substantive talent. I think, lately, they are somewhat disillusioned with X and with the continued escalation of JP’s status, they don’t quite know what to do with themselves. They are stupid, but they do know X cannot compete in the same league as the JP’s. They need to find a new pathology out there to attach themselves to because they have had no luck here.

On CR DF told Brad about Tilda for role and Brad isn’t there someone better. DF told Brad to call him backin 5 min or he (DF) was making the call. BP called back and said that Tilda would me right for the part. DR asked Brad what made him change his mind and Brad said “I don’t know”

You need to watch that part again. Fincher said he had three or four people who were on his list. He called Brad with the actress he had decided on. Brad said there has to be someone better. Fincher said you have five minutes then I am calling this actress. Brad called back and said how about Tilda. Fincher agreed with Brad.

OK–TROLLS!!! I found the b!tch telling Letterman she slept with Brad the first night their managers set them up on a blind date!!! America’s sweetheart my a s s !!! ROTFLMAO!!!   Now that I found the link and the date I’ll get the video too…

http://www.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/wahoo/index/php/20040129.phtml

Jennifer is married to the swell-looking Brad Pitt. How’d they meet? Their managers set them up. How romantic. Their first date consisted of “ordering in.” And they remained “in” the rest of the night.

PT,

Well the Scarlett in the movie isn’t the same as the one in the book. She is actually made conniving in the movie so I can see your pov. I was thinking of the one in the book. Well.

Goodnight to all JP fans! Many thanks for the great articles.

Clini–where are you ??? Still on vacation?
