OlderBrad Pitt: Being With Angelina Jolie is a Natural Direction
Brad Pitt reveals just how much portraying the backwards-aging title character in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has colored his perspective on his varied life. Sitting down with the L.A. Times, Brad shares new insights:
On age versus youth: “Once you hit 40, you start reexamining the math of it all… I’ll trade wisdom for youth any day.”
On finding real love: “It’s a tragedy in the sense that any love involves loss, and that’s the risk you take. And the greater the love, the greater the loss. I certainly feel that now with the woman I’m with, and the children that I have. But whatever the course may be, this time together is extraordinary.”
On how being with Angelina Jolie changed his life: “I had a whole other life and I got to experience a lot. And I probably got away with more than I should. And it kind of ran its course, you know, it kind of hit a dead end. [Fatherhood is] the direction I always thought I would go in. But not until, with Angie and it felt like a natural evolution, a natural direction.”
On his work as an actor: “I don’t have to grope as much for the character… I can get there quicker, so it’s not as much trial and error. Also, as I get older, more experiences, I’m more fine-tuned in what I’m after, what I think speaks in the piece. And lastly I want to hurry and get home to my kids.”

“Ashley” is one of those Angie fans who can’t stand it that she’s not as free wheeling as she used to be. She wants Angie to go back to the wild days of letting BBT say they “fcuked” in the car on the way to a venue, put dabs of each other’s blood in lockets or talked about her foray into lesbianism with Shitzu.

“Ashley” is an Angie fan who doesn’t like the fact that, at 33, Angie is a grown ass WOMAN with a grown ass MAN and in an ADULT relationship rather than being a 24 year-old GIRL who was enabled by a 45 year-old BOY who should have already been past such a silly stage in life.

In other words “Ashley” isn’t an Angie fan at all. I may not have liked Brad’s decision to marry X or the void his life became for 6 1/2 years he was with her, but it was his choice and he lived with the consequences of it. Nor did I care for the BBT years, but once again, Angie’s the one who had to deall with the fallout of that marrying that loser, not me.. But, stupid “Ashley” can’t accept that it’s Angie’s life, not her’s. That’s the difference between a fan and zealot - fans accept the facts; zealots think they can make someone live the life they want. “Ashley” is definitely a zealot.

huh? his lies are so obvious when even a non fan such as myself can see them. His crybaby videos about wanting children are on Youtube and easy to find. He promoted the Golden couple image all over the place for his movies and now you can see that was obviously fake. He’s a lot like Tom Cruise and his multiple fake relationships.

His words are subtle, yet powerful. It’s clear he was in a loveless marriage with his then wife. He knew he didn’t want children with her because having children would not make the marriage any better.
For those Aniston fans who are still bitter about his divorce with her, please get over it and move on. Accept that he didn’t love her and he would have inevitably left her. Stop dwelling on the past like it was your divorce and he did you wrong. Instead, go relish in the fact the Aniston’s dog movie is actually doing well at the box office. Go support her “career” rather than bashing Brad Pitt’s newfound contentment and happiness in life.

I wouldn’t say that. Brad was willing to have kids with her but after the end of 2002 I believe that was the end of him wanting to have kids with her. Those two yrs not working and being around her all the time sealed it for him.

Also when they got married, she was supposed to start the family soon after. She said she wasn’t ready, and Brad gave her TWO years. She was also supposed to finish Friends at this time, but what did she do at the end of the two yrs; sign up for another season of her sitcom.

Exactly. Brad spent 2 years renovating their BH house specifically to hand build the nursery himself. He gave X the 2 years she asked for…THEN she was supposed to leave Friends, but the dumb ho kept re-upping her contract. During that time Brad was in therapy. By the time X’s 2 years were up…and the house was almost finished…Brad was out of therapy, savvy to X’s games and no longer wanted kids with her. We’ve always maintained that 2003 was a trial separation…cuz really, what sane woman would let her husband go on location for nearly 6 months and only visit him TWICE? By the time he started filming M&MS every gossip on the planet was wondering why the two of them were still together!

Wow! You go Brad! Love the LA Times article. He wasn’t kidding around when he said he gets defensive when people criticize the woman he loves. Excuse my language, but what he said in Rolling Stone and now in the LA Times was a clear STFU to X. And despite having X stir up the Bermuda Triangle pot again and the NY Times article by Brook Barnes, Angie is still considered the 6th most admired woman in America according to the Gallup Poll. LOVE IT!!!

Brad is the man. I am so happy that he finally feels comfrtable talking about he and Angie and their love and their family. I think X actually opened the door when she dissed Angie with the “uncool” remark. We fans knew that Brad was not happy and that if X was not careful he would just start speaking the truth out loud. I just saw CCOBB and it was the most romantic, funny and mesmerizing movie I have ever seen this year. The visual effects, the make-up, the storyline are worth 2 and 1/2 hours. Thank you JJ for this thread. Shiloh was in this movie for a split second but you can tell it was cute Shi in the arms of her Daddy. What awesome history in the making. He first movie was with her Dad. Brad and Cate deserve the nominations and awards. David Fincher is tops.
