Brad Pitt: Being With Angelina Jolie is a Natural Direction

Brad Pitt reveals just how much portraying the backwards-aging title character in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has colored his perspective on his varied life. Sitting down with the L.A. Times, Brad shares new insights:

On age versus youth: “Once you hit 40, you start reexamining the math of it all… I’ll trade wisdom for youth any day.”

On finding real love: “It’s a tragedy in the sense that any love involves loss, and that’s the risk you take. And the greater the love, the greater the loss. I certainly feel that now with the woman I’m with, and the children that I have. But whatever the course may be, this time together is extraordinary.”

On how being with Angelina Jolie changed his life: “I had a whole other life and I got to experience a lot. And I probably got away with more than I should. And it kind of ran its course, you know, it kind of hit a dead end. [Fatherhood is] the direction I always thought I would go in. But not until, with Angie and it felt like a natural evolution, a natural direction.”

On his work as an actor: “I don’t have to grope as much for the character… I can get there quicker, so it’s not as much trial and error. Also, as I get older, more experiences, I’m more fine-tuned in what I’m after, what I think speaks in the piece. And lastly I want to hurry and get home to my kids.”

You astrology drones need to look more into his astrology, he has a lot of Capricorn in his chart and that undermines whatever whimsical affects that Sag provides. It enhances his insecurities and amplifies his control freak and stubborn streaks. He’s also a brooding type.
He needs stability and must be the one that creates it. Line all that up with his upbringing, he will go to extremes to try and create the picket fence life. He is way more traditional and has compromised that essence of himself. But like all Sag.’s they do enjoy freedoms and expansion but the heavy weight of responsibility is where he MUST find balance with the duality and conflict in his chart.
Determined, happy go lucky, creative, insecure, at times aloof, Brad is sensitive to his environment, chaotic influences keep him reclusive and guarded. He likes things to be smooth and breezy and consistent.
While i know many of you believe he has found his perfect mate, unfortch, she really isn’t. But for now, she is what he has, these two however, are not the forever so many of you are invested in.

New Orleans is a Pitt co-star in Benjamin Button
Published: Dec 26, 2008

A Paramount Pictures publicity release announced an advance New Orleans area screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last month. A nearly mystical, big-budget Hollywood production starring Brad Pitt, much of the film was shot in New Orleans.

The Dec. 1 screening and red-carpet event at the Elmwood Palace 20 was for Benjamin Button’s local cast and crew. Of course, the local cast includes the film’s leading man, part-time French Quarter resident Brad Pitt.

No promises were made that Pitt would attend the event, but he did indeed walk the camera- and reporter-crowded red carpet, along with his companion and fellow movie star, Angelina Jolie.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, having scored multiple Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations and won National Board of Review awards for best director and best adapted screenplay, seems destined for numerous Oscar nominations, not to mention big box office receipts.

Based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald and co-written for the screen by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump), the film stars Pitt as a man who ages from old to young. Cate Blanchett co-stars as the love of Button’s unusual life.

“The movie deals with those things that unite us all, that 95, 90 percent that’s universal about us,” Pitt said on the red carpet. “And that’s our loves and our losses. It’s a lovely film and I’m very happy with it.”

To play the part of the curiously aged Button, Pitt subjected himself to 3 a.m. wakeup calls and hours of prosthetics applications.

“But the joy was being here and telling the story we were telling,” he said. “It really was a no-brainer for me.”

Pitt told the Associated Press that The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a love letter to New Orleans. The city, in fact, has never looked more beautiful on film.

“New Orleans speaks for itself and it really speaks loud,” Pitt said.

Jolie, dressed in an ankle-length, figure-accentuating white dress, expressed her appreciation for the city, too.

“We often tell people they should go to New Orleans,” she said. “It’s not an easy place to describe. It’s a unique part of America and it has pretty great people. But you’ve got to go there and experience it.”

The production of Benjamin Button allowed Pitt, Jolie and their six children to stay together at home, or rather one of their homes.

The trolls like WFT are trying to change the subject. The subject is Brad talking about his life. If you want to jump to conclusions than Brad is telling Aniston to stop making jokes that includes his kids. Or Brad is telling Aniston to stop thinking she can compliment him and then be mean to the mother of his kids. Or Brad is telling Aniston to shut up about him and Angelina. Sell you own movie. Use you peeboy to sell the movie.

That’s bullshit. The dog flick is doing well because the book has been on the NYT Best Sellers list FOR 4 FREAKING YEARS!!! Do you not have any idea of how many MILLIONS OF COPIES THE BOOK HAS SOLD? Reviewers are barely even mentioning X at all and OW only slightly more often. All the talk is about the book, the book, the book, the book and THE BOOK.
-
X could have kept her clothes on and her legs closed…and the dog flick would have done well. Added to that the movie has a misleading ad campaign that makes people who don’t know about the book think they’re in for a friendly frisky puppy yarn and 15 minutes of puppy and 95 minutes of OW and X.

I watched CCoB yesterday. I could not sneak into a different show…I was forced to watch.
****************************************************************************************

You were “forced” to watch?

Somebody tied you down, glued you to your seat and glued your eyelids open?

Shitzy, you are totally fcuked in the head, you know that? You went to see that movie because you WANTED to see it and you can’t get Brad out of your mind. You’ll never forgive him for not knowing or caring that you exist.

Hello to all JP fans ((waving))

What I loved about this interview is, he said so much with very few words AND best of all he slapped X in the face w/o mentioning her name once, OR her kids names …..errrr…I mean the dogs names I’m sure X , norman and dolly and maybe marley are devestated

We got to see the movie last night, it was awesome, I think I’ll see it again, can’t wait for the DVD… LOVED IT!!! BTW…It was packed!!!

X is such a competitor you KNOW she is going to come back with some media ploy. Will it be her and creepy Mayer strolling the beach over New Year’s in a bikini? Ewwwwww. Or are her people already on the phone with OK Magazine giving them the scoop on what beautiful things creepy John bought her for Christmas? Definitly going to be a counter-media event.

Greetings fans.. I saw BB and was it a cinematic treat.. If you want to do something good with your time, catch a matinee show because the movie is so thought provoking that you will want to eat a good dinner with your partner and spend more quality time discussing the movie.. overall a win win situation as far as time well spent..

Bdj, i was thinking of you in the movie because i had read so many reviews of the movie and some of them had spoilers that when the scene came, i was like.. yes i remember reading it.. but it was all good.

For sure, an academy nomination is warranted for Brad.

Yes, the dog movie was playing at the theater next door and it sure has benefitted from a christmas day release.. since BB is very good, its sold out faster and the leftover audience sometimes did not want to while away time and ended up in the dog movie.. how do i know this - discussions in the popcorn line.

wobbler30 @ 12/26/2008 at 4:39 pm

One more thing after watching the view w/JA . Sorry I’m playing catch up after being gone on vac for christmas. But let me add that Whoopi and Elizabeth think she is just as fake as we know. Joy was a little hesitant. Sherri was kissing ass and BW was being gracious and wanted to bring up the Vogue mag quote.

wobbler30 @ 12/26/2008 at 4:19 pm

M&M is doing good because it is a dog movie. Because it is from a best seller. The studio did not even promote is as an X movie. Of course the media will call it that because the like drama and drama sells so it is X against Brad. Reality is this movie is no different than her other “hits”. Marley sold this movie just as Vince, Ben Stiller and Carney did. Now when her next movie (Traveling) comes out we’ll see is she can open a movie.

Oh Brad has found love at last and he said he keeps his family together.

The man has said the same things in so may different languages before, the press and some people want to pretend that they do not hear him, so that they can keep selling the dramatic stories. He said the same why he was still living with Jen to let everyone know that the relationship was not working. He said they had different goals and they might not end up together forever if they cannot make the goals meet.
Now this is the real thing to watch for and this has always been the problem.
WATCH HOW MANY MEDIA OUTLET WILL BE ABLE TO PUBLISH HIS TRUTH. PLEASE LET”S START COUNTING> JJ Is #1.

God,these are hands down the most stupid posts EVER!!!What the hell happen to reading comprehension? This just shows that hate clouds ones minds. My 12 year old son has better comprehension skills than you people.I just had him read the interview to see if he understand what Brad was saying.

I do have to laugh, even my son pointed out that Brad was saying Angelina was his GREAT LOVE in the La Times interview. He even understand the “whatever the course may be” part.Life is fleeting, we all have no idea what life will throw at us(death, sickness etc)Guess the big bucks my husband is paying out for private school is worth it,lol.

Thank you to everyone who posted articles/interview links.Hope everyone had a nice holiday.

“…But whatever the course may be, this time together is extraordinary.”
Brad sounds like he has been thinking about making a break for freedom sometime in the future.
****************************************************************************************

Oh honey, you wish. Brad wasn’t talking about partners breaking up; he’s talking about death. He said making that movie made him focus on his own mortality and realizing that eventually everybody loses someone they love through death, and the more that person has been loved, the more it hurts to lose them.

My aunt was married to my uncle 64 years before he passed away five years ago. She still misses him.

BRAD CHEATED ON HIS WIFE.

Good for him. If I was married to that cow I’d cheat on her, too.

I love that slap in X face. She thought, that she can say, about Brad’s great love, anything she wants, and remains unpunished. But what i more like, that how he’s doing this, not even mention X name, never stooped to X level. Brilliant!

Yeah…that’s the real beauty of all of the comments Brad has made - they’re veiled but only a complete moron can’t lift the veil and to see what he’s really saying. X prolly had to read it 3 or 4 times before she realized he’d dissed her AGAIN without ever mentioning her by name. And you know that’s killing her - that he refuses to acknowledge her existence publicly. Kudos to Brad for knowing where and how to stick the knife in X’s ribs. I was going to say “heart” but the btich ain’t got one.
__________________________
Dont worry X still may not have gotten the hint, she is probably reading this and thinking “Brad still thinks of me.. He referred to our days”.. Her friends may need some goddess circle support now that Lance A is having a kid.. ooh sheryl crow!!!

When I was 10 I wanted to be Angelina I am more then 20 years older then she is now. I wanted to be Beautiful, talented a good and well known actress and fall in love with a great handsome prince and we would do great things to help other people, other children in the world and have a family with 12 children; that is what I wanted to do before Brnagelina were even born.
OBVIOUSLY I THINK THEY ARE BOTH TALENTED, HIGH SPIRITED, GENEROUS, LOVING, BEAUTIFUL and SMARTER THEN MANY.
Last week I had a dream they they came to visit., and we discussed me being the nanny. I was overjoyed, in my dream of course.

To the posters here that want to hate, sorry life did not give me the dream I had, but I chose love, respect and admiration for those who are do gooders, and inspiration: STOP being jealous it is definitely not going to get you anywhere. But I understand we are all very different because every time I see Jennifer Aniston I want to puke; She is plastic, and reminds me of wonder bread.
To each his own as they say - IMHO Brad is the winner.

Poster #207, you are right about the book being a big reason why people are seeing the Marley movie. A lot of my friends read the book a couple of years ago and are going to see the movie for that very reason. In fact I had 2 different people give me the book as a gift, although I never did get around to reading it. But the success of the book is what is driving the movie.

Hi AG—how are you? did you see BB yet.? My daughter is going tonight…I loved it !!! I really haven’t enjoyed a movie this much in a very, very long time… BTW I also got my DVD of BAR as a X-mas present since I couldn’t see it when it opened… I’m in heaven

They are sooo over. He started talking like that when he was married to Jennifer and a few months later they were done. I predict as soon as the awards are over with they will call it quits.

* * * 1 /2 (out of 5) THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON 2 hours, 40 minutes Starring: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett Director: David Fincher

Dark and dazzling, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” gives us a character who ages in reverse.

The notion, dreamed up in a 1921 F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, is both fascinating and whimsical: Isn’t it a shame we most appreciate life at the end when we’re least capable of enjoying it?

And so Button, played with marvelous poignancy by Brad Pitt, is born an 80-year-old infant - a shrivelled bundle of cataracts, withered bones and wrinkled skin - who inexplicably grows younger.

It hardly seems like the kind of fable that would attract director David Fincher, the chilly technician behind “Seven,” “Fight Club” and “Zodiac.”

But both his eye for design and detail, as well as his aversion to sentimentality, prove ideally suited to Eric Roth’s sprawling screenplay.

This is another part of that article. Fincher who has known Brad for more than 10 years also sees that he is in a better place. Fincher is also friends with X i think. Just like Oprah. who also felt Brad was happier than she has ever seen him.

Quote:
Friends who have witnessed the actor’s life over the past three years agree that the onetime Hollywood golden boy has matured into a wiser, more settled man.

“I think a lot of it has to do with his family,” says Button director David Fincher. “It’s like he wants to cut to the chase and go at the thing, and get it and work it and play with it and then be done with it and live to act another day.”
