Brad Pitt: Being With Angelina Jolie is a Natural Direction

Brad Pitt: Being With Angelina Jolie is a Natural Direction

Brad Pitt reveals just how much portraying the backwards-aging title character in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has colored his perspective on his varied life. Sitting down with the L.A. Times, Brad shares new insights:

On age versus youth: “Once you hit 40, you start reexamining the math of it all… I’ll trade wisdom for youth any day.”

On finding real love: “It’s a tragedy in the sense that any love involves loss, and that’s the risk you take. And the greater the love, the greater the loss. I certainly feel that now with the woman I’m with, and the children that I have. But whatever the course may be, this time together is extraordinary.”

On how being with Angelina Jolie changed his life: “I had a whole other life and I got to experience a lot. And I probably got away with more than I should. And it kind of ran its course, you know, it kind of hit a dead end. [Fatherhood is] the direction I always thought I would go in. But not until, with Angie and it felt like a natural evolution, a natural direction.”

On his work as an actor: “I don’t have to grope as much for the character… I can get there quicker, so it’s not as much trial and error. Also, as I get older, more experiences, I’m more fine-tuned in what I’m after, what I think speaks in the piece. And lastly I want to hurry and get home to my kids.”

Angelina opened WANTED. Angelina opened WANTED in the high pressure summer months. Which is why she got the lead in SALT and is getting paid 15 million plus.

Quote:

“Cinemascore said the main reasons given for choosing to see Wanted were the action (67%) and Jolie (61%). Exit polling showed the audience breakdown was 52%/48% male to female, 51%/49% under age 30 to over age 30.”

Quote:

Angelina Jolie’s action thriller Wanted had the best opening ever for an R-rated film released in June and the 6th best opening of all the time for any R-rated film, according to Variety.

But Wanted didn’t open at No. 1. WALL-E, the Pixar Animation tale about a robot, opened with $62.5 million in ticket sales, while Jolie’s assassin thriller Wanted raked in $51.1 million, the Associated Press reported Sunday.

Quote:

Among action films, “Wanted” sucked up most of the oxygen in the arena. Auds have made it clear they like to see Jolie in shoot-’em-up action roles, as some of her more dramatic outings haven’t translated into box office wins.

“Wanted,” about a team of super-assassins, skewed slightly male at 52% and slightly younger, with 51% of the aud under age 30. It also played well to Hispanic and African-American auds.

Universal originally planned to open “Wanted” in the spring but then moved it to summer.

Quote:

Wanted” opening was the third highest ever for an R-rated action film, after “The Matrix Reloaded” ($91.7 million) and “300” ($70.9 million).

Saw this on IMDB. Let me add Also receiving Oscar buzz and SAG and Golden Globe noms for Changling. Then add having twins. Plus going to Iraq/Darfur.

She is on a higher level. It’s simple as that.

Hey guys, I thought Fugly was supposed to be popular in Australia, but check out the box office:
-
CCOBB — $6 million
Mutt movie — $1.7 million
-
+++++++++++++++++
-
That makes no sense. We can’t not give her credit for the movie’s success in the U.S. and then turn around and blame her when it doesn’t do as well elsewhere. With that kind of double standard we may as well be Fanistons.
-
BTW - who ever said X was popular in Australia? I think by now it’s been well-established that X DOES NOT PUTT BUTTS IN THEATER SEATS. I have no idea if Friends was popular in Oz or not…but nobody here ever said that X was popular in Oz.
-
On the other hand - I said the book had sold well in Oz and the movie should do well based on that. However, if you look at the stats for the other two dog flix that did well this year - Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Bolt you’ll see that neither of them have very impressive foreign box office totals. Bolt still has a number of foreign territories to open in though. Apparently it’s only America who is inflicted by Happy Puppy Syndrome…
-
BOLT
====
Domestic: $109,917,145 70.3%
+ Foreign: $46,453,327 29.7%
= Worldwide: $156,370,472
.
Beverly Hills Chihuahua
Domestic: $93,778,953 79.9%
+ Foreign: $23,664,396 20.1%
= Worldwide: $117,443,349

Because we already have a village idiot. The position is filled, so you’ll have to find somewhere else to post.

“We can’t not give …”??? Passing Through, are you now getting into the realm of Jenspeak and her “we don’t not talk?”

Hi Irma….thanks for your comments about my posts.
You know, I decided not to post here at JJ as often as I usually do because it’s now very clear to us that tabloid threads are the “in” thing here. I lurk here sometimes. Hope to see you post at JJB Mega 3A. I get to read your posts at Pittwatch too.

guli @ 01/06/2009 at 2:55 am

guli, thank you for the video, didn’t see that one. Brad trying desperately to touch Angie behind his mum’s back, that was very funny and naughty. He is crazy in love.

X gg video @ 01/06/2009 at 10:43 am

Jen looks so ugly in this vid, and really so awkward when she laughs/cries.

She really did a lot of work done in her face.

I think she was sarcastic to Brad in the vid, because Brad did not accompany her to the stage or did not escort her to the stage even when she was limping and they were seated so far away from the stage. Thats why she purposely did not thank him, she was pissed. Brad just remained at his seat, lol. It was funny. Aniston was F****** pathetic, with her fugly face!

OH DEAR, GOD!!! NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

My worst fear has been realized…talking about X has turned me into a moron just like she and her fans. Although…I must not be too far gone because I didn’t say, “just like her and her fans”.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I saw this video a while back and thought that x’s “thanks” were so off handed she sounded totally insincere and insulting. I agree that x certainly seemed angry with Brad about something.

And truly? x is still angry with Brad and still blaming Brad at some level. Only, shes found it more convenient to transfer her anger and blame Angelina. I think x still have revenge fantasises of Brad crawling back to her, so she can boot him out. LOL.

Thank you, thank you, AG. I had wanted to post something to cook, but I didn’t know what to say without being too mean or snarky, so I just left it alone. But he was seriously beginning to irritate me, too. I mean, he was really amusing in the beginning, but now has tapered off into really boring and unfunny.

…LISTEN-UP…don’t worry about my comments…jared’s not…I don’t slander…all celebrity/famous people are fair game…including their dizzy loco fans…quit losing sleep over my comments…hahahahahahahha

He’s a heartbeat away from the presidency, but that apparently didn’t help Joe Biden get a movie ticket Saturday night.

Employees at the Regal Brandywine Cinemas say the vice president-elect and his wife, Jill, tried to attend the 7:45 showing of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” at the theater on Concord Pike but left after they were told the movie was sold out.

There’s been no confirmation from the Biden camp, but the theater employees say they are sure it was him.

Inshirah Muhamut, an associate manager, said she closed her box-office line when she saw what appeared to be a Secret Service agent coming her way.

The man asked her about tickets for the movie, which stars Brad Pitt, then left.

A few minutes later, she said, the Bidens came into the lobby.

Jill Biden walked up to speak with Muhamut while Joe stood nearby.

“She was asking me about other shows, but they really wanted to see ‘Benjamin Button,’ ” Muhamut said. “He was maybe five feet away, looking at her. He was standing with his other Secret Service men.”

Remarkably, none of the other moviegoers appeared to notice. Employees said nobody mobbed Biden or called his name or asked for an autograph.

“It didn’t seem many people recognized him,” said employee Becky Gingrich, 21. “Honestly, I think people were just too wrapped up in themselves to notice.”

The brush with Biden did give the employees a thrill, though.

“I was a little excited — I’m not gonna lie,” said Muhamut, a 21-year-old senior at West Chester University. “The Secret Service guy told me to calm down.”

Muhamut plans to go to the Jan. 20 inauguration, so seeing the Bidens up close was a kick.

“I recognized him as soon as he came up,” she said. “He had a black jacket and jeans on. He looked real casual. His wife had on a very stylish jacket.”

Gingrich and Muhamut said the Bidens didn’t ask for special treatment. They simply mulled over their movie options and left.

“We’re just so crazy in here tonight [with patrons] that we would have had to go into the theater and move people around,” Gingrich said.

I guess he didn’t want to see the dog movie either!

Hey, Mickey @ 01/06/2009 at 1:20 pm

Brad Pitt must be losing some of his box office charm. TCCOBB cannot rise above third place at the box office. The movie goers must not find him as interesting as he and his loonie fans do.

Brad Pitt to Present at People’s Choice?

Today 10:04 AM PST by Marc Malkin

Brad Pitt could be a surprise guest at tomorrow night’s People’s Choice Awards.

It’s not a very prestigious awards show, but I hear the Curious Case of Benjamin Button star is mulling over a possible appearance during CBS’ live telecast.

If it does happen, however, don’t look for him onstage at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium…

I hear Pitt, who has been an awards-season favorite this year for his Benjamin Button work, would pop up in a pretaped segment. He was offered but apparently turned down the chance to be beamed in live via satellite, according to a source.

As for Angelina Jolie, I’m told she declined both a taped and satellite segment.

Hollywood’s most beautiful couple is expected at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday followed by the Golden Globes on Sunday.
