my goodness things have become crazy here…while I think Woody’s relationship with Soon-Yi was inappropriate, I don’t think Susan completely condones his behavior at all…and she has a right to an opinion like all of you who label Woody Allen a pervert…

and to yours truly, recapping some history- Chaplin was persecuted in his lifetime…he was refused reentry into America because he was labeled a communist as well as having his sexual behavior revealed (even Hedda Hopper jumped on the anti-Chaplin bandwagon)…after a woman he was intimately involved with accused him of fathering her child, America turned on him…even though the child was proven to not be his, it didn’t matter…most labeled him a sexual predator (plus the fact he married a woman 36 years younger then him or so- beginning their relationship while she was a minor too)…and Arbuckle was falsely accused of rape, but most of the press inaccurately pursued a witch hunt which destroyed his career and left him broke and out of work…most people today don’t even know he was innocent of the crime, but the condemnation of the public ultimately decided his fate…

while I disagree with some of Susan’s points, she makes an interesting case of how passionate people can become in certain situations and how decades from now, we may view it entirely differently…and I don’t think there has been any evidence proving he was a sexual predator who pursued Soon-Yi when she was a little girl…that’s making an assumption which I think is what Susan was talking about…you must distinguish fact from assumption or rumor…

Even though you hold differing opinions, it doesn’t make one a sicko or pervert…she didn’t call you names, so why do the same to her?? Just a thought…

I have worked for Children’s Services and Naval criminal Investigative Services for child abuse for years.

I could not even begin to count the number of kids that have been molested by “mom’s boyfriend”. Some men actively seek out single women with children.
It is a whole psychology of “grooming” instilling the notion in children that they were somehow willing participants, or that it is “special”.
Furthermore, secrecy is a critical component of molestation. “don’t tell or something bad will happen to __________”.
No one really knows how many girls this perv touched, took photos of etc etc. Victims often are very conflicted and afraid to tell when the perp is well known to them.

What IS known is this statement about his legally adopted daughter, Dylan:

A bitter custody battle over the three children was decided in Ms. Farrow’s favor last June, but Mr. Allen has appealed that ruling. He now visits only one of the children, Satchel, with court supervision.

At dueling news conferences today, Mr. Allen and Eleanor B. Alter, Ms. Farrow’s lawyer, continued their name-calling.

The article goes on to say more, lawyers name calling etc., but the jist of it embraces the same difficulties investigators run into when attempting to prosecute family member pedophiles every day. The difficulty of expecting intimidated, victimized children who do not want to talk about such a disturbing experience, to put forth a clear cut and convincing statement against that of a practiced adult liar.

I’m just wondering if Soon-Yi’s been brainwashed to believe it’s okay for Woody to touch “their” adopted children. The children seen here in the photos look sad and withdrawn. Also, notice how Woody is holding on almost to tight to his adopted asian daughter. She looks frightened of Woody.

But, no man would ever want Soon-Yi - she looks terrible so I’m assuming that whatever is going on in their household, money is keeping Soon-Yi quiet.

Why is that as a society we are willing to make excuses if someone a genius? He can’t really be a pedophile ……..he’s a genius! In reality he’s a genius does not = he’s a great man! Outrageous!!

Would not surprise me if Soon YI ran full throttle to the perv when it all came out in the open. She had alienated her mother, she was young and alone and he had millions to offer if she would “legitimize” their affair by marrying him. Who exactly was she going to turn to to support her financially? She probablly did believe she had an equal choice. All she has to do is go a long and keep her mouth shut and it all will be hers.

Women do get brainwashed or suffer “Stockholm Syndrome”. there are several documented cases of women co-conspiring in crime to maintain their marriages.

It amazes me that anyone thought he was anacceptable candidate to adopt any child. Especiallly when he could not be granted unsupervised visitation with his legally adopted children.

i won’t trust him with those two daughters of him if i were her , after all she was considered his daughter at one time, and i noticed in the pictures he pays attention more to the daughter who is more like soon - yi than the other daughter , obviousely he’s into oriental looks, soon yi watch out for your daughters otherwise as they say, what goes around comes around you might lose him to your daughters.

If anyone has seen the documentary about Allen’s tour of Europe playing his clarinet they would see that Soon Yi very much wears the pants in the relationship. She is hardly a meek little servant girl. Anyone who has read the firsthand account of Mia Farrow’s memoir or many other accounts would know that he and she were really never suited, she comes off as like the worst nightmare of a neurotic Woody Allen character. She actively seeks to be a martyr and didn’t hesitate to peg him as a paedophile in revenge for his falling for Soon Yi, the child in question was the only child that Woody really cared for (there is no denying he is a selfish self absorbed excuse for a man), but it was clearly done to punish him and must not have been difficult for a child to pick up everything that was going on and the pain of its mother. Had there been any real evidence he would have been put away, simple as that. He did not flee the country like Polanski, he faced the charges and won. Mia has succesfully slurred his name, it is admitedly self inflicted in him going off with her daughter but this is the sort of thing you see on Springer every day, it just happened to occur on the Upper East Side of Manhattan amongst famous people so the scandal is distorted. I am not saying he wasn’t immoral and wrong on many levels, but had he truly been a paedophile he would not have stayed with the same woman for all of these years. He never wanted to be a father to Mia’s kids, this is relevant, sorry, as he always kept a distance from her home life. She discusses in detail how the man basically doesn’t have a paternal bone in his body, at least not towards kids that aren’t his own. This society is obsessed with branding everyone a paedophile, Woody Allen is a perverted old man in that he likes women who are much younger than him, as evidenced in his films, but there is absolutely no evidence of criminality here. If it makes someone a “moral” person to brand everyone they see a paedo without any foundation of proof then pat yourselves right on the back. Start burning witches at the stake while you’re at it with all the foaming mouth mentality on display here.
