Reese & Jake: Farmer’s Market Fresh
Lovebirds Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon spend the final day of 2008 going shopping together at Santa Monica Farmer’s Market in Los Angeles on Wednesday (December 31).
Jake, 28, and Reese, 32, were joined by his screenwriter mother Naomi Foner. You can see Jake checking out the Japanese cucumbers.
In October, Naomi filed for divorce from Stephen Gyllenhaal (citing irreconcilable differences) after a 30-year marriage.

Well, I know where Naomi spent Reveillon, ate a good dish and drunk Champagne.
But what happened with his father?
Certainly Jake is a guy very close with his parents. Even when he dated Kirsten, paps took a lot of pics of them.
Although he is adult I imagine he felt sorry for the divorce.
Reese is ugly and I hate her clothes. She is very tacky.

I swear those two maybe a happy couple but they are sooooooo boring and lifeless. My God they give off the appearance of an old married couple…and they aren’t even engaged!! I mean damn he’s only 28 and she’s 32 but you would think they were his mother’s age. Wade and June Cleaver are more exciting and sexy then those two!!
And this is not a question of whether or not I believe Jake is gay - I don’t..well…I’m not 100% sure - it’s simply the fact they are an uninteresting, unexciting couple. There is nothing about them that has any element of WOW to them. Whenever I see photos of them I’m either falling asleep or thinking, “So what!”
They just SPY on people, folks.

That might be why Reese looks so gloomy in these pics. I do declare we haven’t had so much fun about two people getting together for a long time as we have had with Reese and her Mom in Law, so to speak. Papa has been banished to outer darkness, no doubt. Not part of the family no more. Somehow Jakey, his mom and Reese remind me a bit of the triangle of Seymour, his mother and Edna Krabapple in the Simpsons. You know poor Seymour who had to run to his mother every time he was about to “do” Edna. I wonder if Jakey puts Moma first and Reese second?
Who is where? Jakey has, I think, a house leased in the Hollywood Hills on Woodrow Wilson Dr. Moma might be living there. Jakey’s parents’ house has been up for rent or sale for a year without any takers, as far as I know. Just sitting there. There is also a family house on Martha’s Vineyard in Papa’s name and I suspect he might be living there. But who knows? Anybody with better infor, speak up.

Ivana maybe you need to take a sex ed course again. Altho Francesca, there is in vitro and artificial insemination nowadays so it is possible Jake can father a child of Reeses. And Reese can also get untied or donate her eggs to a surrogate. There are a lot of ways for gay or fixed or sterile people to get pregnant now. Damn.

I am not sure if Jake is gay, could be but I will say this. Both need to end this relationship soon -however it is defined. I don’t think Reese is interested in marriage anytime soon and Jake needs to stop hanging around like some lapdog. Grow some balls Jake! Get a hobby- play some hoops. Reese needs to take a short break from ANY guy right now and then hopefully meet a decent, attractive man that is not in show business down the road. I agree the constant magazine coverage and Reese & Jake’s photo ops are wearing thin. I like Reese. She is a good actress and seems classy and has her life together. Even her biggest distractors can’t find one article or story where it says Reese was stumbling out of some trendy L.A. club or has been seen doing dope at some party in Vegas. But I wish she would just find a normal, non Hollywood guy who treats her well. Jake can hook up with somone else or just come out if he is gay. Friends I can see but as lovers Reese & Jake may not be the real deal.

OMG Maggie Gyllenhaal looks just like her mother which as you can see is NOT a good thing. Poor girl.
Reese doesn’t go to niteclubs or bars, or so it seems. She stays home at night and twiddles her thumbs or knits or something. Jakey likewise, except he likes to cook, hence the fit between them. I do think however that this juxtaposition of the two women in his life is a lot of fun as a base for comments. Especially with one of them super rich and the other one flat broke. Hollyweird stars OUGHT to marry people outside the business who won’t compete with them and who can devote themselves to the star and his or her needs. But many don’t. Perhaps non Hollyweird types are not interesting enough, or they want to discuss acting or whatever. Daniel Radcliffe has said all actresses are “mad” and so when he decided to date whom did he choose…you guessed it…..an actress, although not a very stellar one.
