OlderCate Blanchett: Brad Pitt is Tireless
Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett was just interviewed by Reuters about her role as Brad Pitt’s soulmate in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, out in theaters now. Here are the highlights:
This is your second film with Brad Pitt after co-starring with him in Babel” Is there anything noteworthy about working with him that the moviegoer might be interested in knowing/ He is unbelievably committed to what he does. … In both films, there’s been a sense that he’s asked really difficult questions of the film before he’s committed, and he sort of tends to be, I suppose from the outside, a little bit reticent to jump in. But that’s only because he wants to know if he’s going to commit 100 percent, he wants to know that the film’s going to be as committed as he is. And so I really admire him for that. He’s really tireless.
You’re not a dancer by trade, but is it true that you had some childhood dance instruction? Yeah, I studied ballet, but also in drama school the most powerful training for me was the movement training. And look, if I had my way over again, I’d be a Butoh dancer (contemporary dance form originating in Japan), or I’d desperately try and finagle my way into working with (modern dance choreographer) ‘Pina’ Bausch. So, (in Benjamin Button) I worked with Michelle Johnston, who was the choreographer.
BTW, if you haven’t seen Button yet. Run to your local movie theater and see it!!! It’s fantastic.

I really enjoyed the movie, it was by far better than I imagined. I had to wait for the third showing to see it, the first two were delayed for malfunction or some shi*. Did anyone else have trouble seeing BB due to trouble with the film?

What state are you in? Lynn had the same problem , I think in Texas. Who takes care of such problem? Who do we make calls to?

Some believe Cate is more the A-lister actress than Angelina. If so, Brad’s MO is to dump the present partner for the top A-lister. Is Angie going to become a single and ALONE parent soon?

No worries there, honey. Aniston was never an A-list actress. The only thing that got her anywhere near the A-list was being Mrs. Brad Pitt. Angelina is A-list on her own merits. You probably can’t understand the difference, but there it is.

The special effects are so dazzling, and Pitt’s performance is so gracefully convincing, that you can’t help but be wowed over and over again by “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.’’
Based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story about a man who ages in reverse, the film’s just so achingly sad. Pitt, as the title character, is doomed from the start. He can travel the world and live a life that’s adventurous and full, but he can never truly be with the woman he loves, Daisy (Cate Blanchett), whom he meets when she’s just a little girl (played by Elle Fanning) and he’s a boy trapped in an old man’s body.

As I’ve been saying - I’ll continue to post on Jared’s. I may not be too happy with him not responding to my e-mail, but unlike some people I don’t think Jared has sold out to the tabs or Huvane or anyone else. Jumped the shark with the tab threads? Yes. Sold out? No. But…dude could help himself out immensely by responding to his e-mail when people are mad at him. Not doing so gives the impression he either doesn’t care that people have complaints or can’t be bothered to deal with complaints. Neither is good.

I’ve said all along that Jared is running a business here. But the first tenet of business is to keep your BEST and most LOYAL customers happy. If he’s going to succeed he needs to remember that. Growing your business is one thing, but HOW you grow it is also important. By posting tabloid threads he’s running the risk of encouraging more trolls and haters and having a less friendly, less accessable, less likeable and less enjoyable site.

I’ve never heard such silly things said… Brad & Angie are in love… with six beautiful children.. How would anyone want any parent for that matter to split with there love , and 6 children raised with only 1 parent. Be nice already..

Like all this crap dissing ‘Sex in the City,’ a film that was a huge success at the BO and made quite a powerful statement in Hollywood given that all 4 main characters are late 30’s-40’s women. How often does that happen? Yet Maniston comes out and slams the whole franchise and series??? Inadvertendly or DELIBERATELY dissing all women involved.

There’s no silly incessant tabloid nonsense about Brad which besmirches his character, there’s no Brad’s ex beating HIM up in the press..it’s all praise, all the time…

….meanwhile Angie gets the tabloid bullshit from his ex posted constantly here on JJ, and she gets the arrows and darts from Brad’s x’s interviews posted here on JJ, and she gets people questioning why she is a tabloid magnet and if all of this ‘Brad related tabloid garbage,’ hurts HER (never Brad…though it’s his mess, his garbage, his baggage - it’s always about if it hurts HER.)

With threads like this - you can see the bias and the sexism. Brad = male = person of value to not be trivialized. Angelina = female= person of nonvalue to be trashed in the tabloid media by other catty females, with tabloids bought by same.

It’s great that JJ has so much respect for Brad - while the woman that inspired his artistry, his philanthropy, and has given him the family he’s always wanted, gets crucified and villified at the behest of CAA/Deathstar operatives and Brad’s ex.
i AM IN DESOTO TEXAS AND I HAD TROUBLE SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THE TICKET LADY SAID IT WAS SKIPPING PARTS. IT WAS A CIMIMARK THEATRE ON PLEASANT RUN. WE ARRIVED AT 3:PM AND THEY DID NOT SHOW IT THE REST OF THE DAY. THE NEXT DAY WE WENT THEY SAID A 3:45 SHOWING AND WHEN WE ARRIVED AT 3:30 THE FIRST PART WAS PLAYING AND WHEN WE COMPLAINED THE GUY LOOK AT US AS IF WE WERE CRAZY. WE SAY IT AND THE PART WE SAW WAS THE BEST MOVIE I’VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME.
