OlderJett Travolta Dead at 16 (John Travolta’s Son)
Jett Travolta, the 16-year-old son of John Travolta has died after suffering a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.
Travolta’s attorney, Michael Ossi, tells Reuters that attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene.
Access reports Jett fell and hit his head on a bathtub at the hotel. TMZ reports Jett was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital.
Travolta, 54, wife Kelly Preston, 46, and their family had been vacationing in the Bahamas. Travolta and Preston also have a daughter, Ella, 8.
Travolta has said Jett suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome (a condition that leads to heart disease in rare cases). Preston has also said Jett suffered from asthma and blamed household cleaners, fertilizers and pesticides for sparking the condition. According to People, she credited a detoxification program based on the writings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard with helping to improve Jett’s health.

Whoever coined the phrase: “Scientology kills” was right on the $$$, so to speak.
My heart breaks for Jett, having to die way before his time, that is unbelievably sad and heartbreaking.
Although I am not heartless and do feel for the Travolta’s- there is a piece of me that is extremely angry over the fact that these parents’ would put their pseudo-science-CULT beliefs above the welfare of their child and NOT intervene and explore ALL interventions in order to help him- that is a parents’ job! They failed their boy miserably and unfortunately he has died because of it!

my heart goes out for the Travolta family, is a terrible tragedy, I adore John Travolta and I wish he wasn’t going through this, I pray for peace and courage in their hearts so they can overcome this terrible tragedy. I am very sad for them.:(
Very sad and shameful if it proves this was avoidable through careful management of appropriate medication. But let’s face it - we’ll never know. It will be hushed up and the funeral will be shown across the world on entertainment shows.
John and Kelly appear to be hardcore $cientologists and they believe that vitamins, saunas and auditing (interrogation slash counseling) will cure almost anything.
This belief was written by the founder of the cult. L.Ron. Hubbard.
In the cult, they are expected to follow this mans every written word and instruction and to not deviate for any reason.
This is a tragic loss and I hope that it may serve as a catalyst for their family to speak out about this misguided cult teaching. I am a strong follower of natural medicines whenever possible. No one wants a world with unnecessary medication for children but one with appropriate, measured responses to illnesses.
Maybe if John speaks out someones else’s child might be looked after differently.
God gave us a simple life but we unnecessarily complicated one !

I know what it’s like to lose a child. I lost my son in 2005. It doesn’t matter how it happened, IT HAPPENED…and my heart goes out to the Travolta/Preston family.

Rossy (#269), do you even know what you’re talking about? You list medication like Thalidomide which hasn’t been used since the 70s. But all medication that are no longer been used, it happened following years of studies and with what is called evidence based facts. Not because a 10-cent science fiction writer had an epiphany on how to make money and mislead people. Where did he study psychiatry or neurology to actually have an opinion on the subject? And what kind of religion is this that wants its members instead of free will to be under the leash?

The quackery of Scientology’s “Purification Rundown”
This program, based on the bunk science of Hubbard himself, is a common Scientology course as well as a staple part of many of Scientology’s front groups. It is supposed to cleanse and detoxify the body of drugs supposedly stored in the body’s fat cells. The (false) claim is that drug residues remain in the body’s cells.
It is widely-condemned by the medical community for its dangerous methods. These include ingesting oils in amounts large enough to make a person very ill, saunas lasting up to 5 hours at a time, and massive megadoses of vitamin B3 (Niacin) and other vitamins at far beyond toxic levels.
This dangerous cocktail of pseudoscientific methods has harmed many people and resulted in a number of medical claims.

I am crushed to hear this terrible news. My heart pours out for the parents. It is something no parent ever wants to imagine.
John Travolta and Kelly stayed in my town for a while when he was filming “Domestic Disturbance”. I saw them out with Jett a few times. He did seem to exhibit all classic signs of autism as I know it, but they were very private about anything to do with him. There was nothing to indicate that they were anything but involved parents when I saw them together, but there are such thing as anti-seizure medications for children with that kind of history. I only hope that their beliefs did not prevent them from seeking out or utilizing all the treatment options available through modern medicine. Sadly, it is my understanding that some of these meds are the very ones Scientology is so against.
If John was so close to Jett where was he and Kelly when this happened? And why did no one notice Jett’s absence until Friday when he went into the bathroom on Thursday? Something doesn’t make sense here! Anyone know any more info?
