Jett Travolta Dead at 16 (John Travolta’s Son)

Jett Travolta, the 16-year-old son of John Travolta has died after suffering a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.

Travolta’s attorney, Michael Ossi, tells Reuters that attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene.

Access reports Jett fell and hit his head on a bathtub at the hotel. TMZ reports Jett was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital.

Travolta, 54, wife Kelly Preston, 46, and their family had been vacationing in the Bahamas. Travolta and Preston also have a daughter, Ella, 8.

Travolta has said Jett suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome (a condition that leads to heart disease in rare cases). Preston has also said Jett suffered from asthma and blamed household cleaners, fertilizers and pesticides for sparking the condition. According to People, she credited a detoxification program based on the writings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard with helping to improve Jett’s health.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Travolta family and friends.

Kelly, John, and Ella: I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a beautiful bot. Losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. You loved him so much and I will never forget what you taught us parents about green cleaning because of what the carpet cleaning chemicals did to him. I hope you can someday find peace but you must all be in complete agony right now. I just can’t imagine and I am SO sad for your family.

Dear Travolta Family:

Please accept my prayer for God’s love and support and that warm memories of God’s Gift of Jett will sustain you during this difficult time. Know that this fan, from afar, hopes you can feel the love during this heartbreaking time. I am so sad you have to endure the loss of a child. God Bless.

My thoughts and prayers are you and your family. I am sorry for your loss.

I just heard on NBC news that Jett fell in the shower and hit his head on the tub. He had a seizure and it was too late by the time they got assistance. That’s terrible =/

My prayers goes out to his family.

I see Jared has the up now, oops

i feel sorry for the daughter who will have no company or siblings anymore :(

I meant to say boy, not bot

I am so sorry to hear this. My condolences to the Travolta family.

RIP, Jett!

For a parent to lose a child is the worst thing in the world

This is very sad. I wish them the best.

This is horrible news. It must be awful for the parents to loose their only son this way. My condolences to John and his wife. I hope some of you shooting off your mouth already for the possble cause should shut up if you have nothing good to say. There is time and place for everything and this is not the time for criticism or trying to apportion blame.. You should all show respect incl the paps and let them mourn their loss in peace.

omg!! my prayers go out to their familyy .

Let’s not use this tragic time to start some anti-Scientology rant, #14.

It was never even confirmed that Jett Travolta was autistic. It was just speculation.

How could you say something like that, #69? Have you no compassion?

my thoughts and prayers are with the family

RIP

Seizures are not listed as part of the Kawasaki disease symptoms/complications. I wonder if he was epileptic? It sounds like he had a seizure, and during the seizure hit his head on the bathroom floor/tile or shower etc. That sort of thing can happen to anyone who has a seizure - and is a hazard of just being alone when a seizure hits. At sixteen he was plenty old enough to be alone in the bathroom.

He was awfully young, what a shame. As much as a I poke fun at Travolta, I could never laugh at someone losing a child.

it is hard to imagine that at a time like this, people that have no clue how they live their lives, are talking down to them because of their choice in religion. this is the most difficult thing a person would ever have to go through in their lives, no matter what their religious preferences are. as someone who had a young cousin die after following a seizure, i know that religion played no role in that, and it doesnt in this situation either. how about just keep a mouring family in your prayers and not criticize them based on how they live their lives, as that is irrelvant in a time like this.

My prayers go out to the family…

My heart goes out to this family with total empathy. I lost my Mother Dec. 23,2008. During this time of grief, everyone should hold their negative comments and simply give love and encouragement to this Mom and Dad, who loved their son, and to the sister Jett left behind. My prayers are with John and his family. God bless you all.
