Jett Travolta Dead at 16 (John Travolta’s Son)
Jett Travolta, the 16-year-old son of John Travolta has died after suffering a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.
Travolta’s attorney, Michael Ossi, tells Reuters that attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene.
Access reports Jett fell and hit his head on a bathtub at the hotel. TMZ reports Jett was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital.
Travolta, 54, wife Kelly Preston, 46, and their family had been vacationing in the Bahamas. Travolta and Preston also have a daughter, Ella, 8.
Travolta has said Jett suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome (a condition that leads to heart disease in rare cases). Preston has also said Jett suffered from asthma and blamed household cleaners, fertilizers and pesticides for sparking the condition. According to People, she credited a detoxification program based on the writings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard with helping to improve Jett’s health.
Our deepest condolences go out to the Travolta family and friends.

Has Tom Cruise commented yet? Or Will Smith? You know these Scientologists are tight-knit. I hope he wasn’t involved in the Travolta’s plot to kill Jett. John and Kelly should be ashamed of themselves. They are horrible parents who sacrificed a disabled child to their crazy cult.
It is terrible when a loved one dies and my heart does go out to the family however being an X scientologist , I will tell you that John and his family will go thru a different process than normal people do when there is a death. They would immediately go into session to “handle the loss”. That means they would use the e meter and answer questions asked by an auditor. Then they would try to “get in comm” (scientology’s word for communication) with the being to try and “handle” them. Which basically means they would talk to Jett, or the spirit of Jett and then tell him to go and pick up another body. (they don’t believe in heaven or hell, they believe Jesus was an implant.) Then afterwards, although there would still be a loss, it would not be expected that they would be very over emotional about it because that would put them right back in session which is suppose to take the sadness away. One of the reasons I left the church of Scientology was because we really weren’t allowed to feel things until we were just done feeling them. So to a Scientologist , feeling too much sadness is something to be remedied in session. Which I don’t agree with. I’m not saying his family is not sick with saddness over this terrible tradgedy, I’m just saying this is what is standard when a person dies in Scientology. No matter if it was autisum or Kawasaki disease or whatever, I do know that that boy had a physical condition that was being treated with Scientology and it did not work. I just read K disease is treatable within a few weeks and only when it goes untreated does it create heart problems etc. I hope people read the story of Jett and his life and see that something just wasn’t right about it. That maybe he might still be alive if he had been allowed the proper drugs and treatment which I know Scientology does not allow.
Whats with the sending of the prayers….( God will help you get through.., God Bless… etc….They believe in Scientology NOT God!!!! L Ron Hubbard is no god.
While this is truly tragic, I too am wondering if it wasn’t all the result of denying much needed medical intervention.
So sad if it was just an accident.
Shame on them if they denied their son medical help.
First, My thoughts and prayers are with the family. .. so that Kawasaki syndrome lead Jett get a heart attack at his bathroom? Rest in Peace Jett.. :(
:0( very sad, he was only 16 :0(
I hope and pray I never have to bury one of my son’s before myself. That itself is one of the worst things that a parent would have to encounter in life. This is time for healing, love and remembering all the precious times you had with Jett. John, Kelly & family, may god be with you thru the next rocky road which I’m sure has already started in your not so great paporatzee…be strong. Just remember God has Jett now & will feel no more pain…
Remember one thing - no matter who tell you what, your beliefs are your own - there is no one person who can tell you what religion to belive in. May God bless you and your family during this time, I will pray for you all.
God Bless…
#202 that is horrific. I just dont see how all these celebrities are sucked into this cult. I was so disappointed when I heard that they got Will Smith. So they dont believe in heaven or hell and that the spirit will simply enter into another body? Who’s body?
Please all bear in mind that it is more than likely that many of the comments here that attack those who are critical of Scientology will have been generated by paid agents of the Church of Scientology. The Co$ has a very long history of such PR tactics.
What a horrible tragedy. That poor child, not getting the type of health care he clearly needed is just sickening. I’m furious with Kelly for denying her son the medication to control his seizures. This is her second disabled child? Kelly Preston is a vile and disgusting woman! I cannot believe a mother could allow her fanatical cult beliefs to harm or kill her children. I hope she burns in hell for this!
People are saying that we shouldn’t judge them for their beliefs. But if it is their beliefs that denied that boy proper care and medication that could have prevented a seizure then they ARE responsible.
And one other thing. He went into the bathroom and was discovered a day later by a caretaker? An autistic or handicapped or disabled 16-year old boy was not seen for an entire day and no-one missed him?Where were his parents?
Dear John Kelly& Ella& family
My prayers are with all of you and your family, To loose someone is terrible as always, but to loose your child I couldn’t even imagine, May God watch over you all, Bless you all..
RIP Helicopter um I mean Jett
What can you say when someone loses a child? There are no words. My prayers are with their family at this awful time.
Robert, you are absolutely right. The cult is probably monitoring the posts and trying to do some damage control. Just to show hoe crazy these people are, the following was posted at TVGuide’s comments over the story of Jett’s death:

I’m a Scientologist, and I can tell you for a fact that Autism dosen’t exist! It is a “disease” made up by Psychiatrists to medicate and control people. Of course Jett’s parents wouldn’t give him anti-seizure medications. Those are TOXIC, Psychiatric pills! He was being treated properly, with healthy vitamins, and auditing. Why would any rational, thinking parent drug their kid?
This is clearly another attempt by the media, and detractors to try to stop people from getting better. If you want to know about Scientology, you should read, “The Science of Survival” by L.Ron Hubbard. Particularly pages 170+171 which state clearly Scientology’s veiws on the subject, of treatment of people with mental abberations.

Now who needs trained professionals if you have 10-cent science fiction writers like Hubbard?
What was his favorite quote? Oh yeah — “If I want to get rich, I’ll start a religion..” hmm
very sad and awful to lose a child.
This is terrible news to hear :( Prayers sent out to their family!
I don’t think it’s right to speculate about what happened in this particular situation. Someone has lost their son, it doesn’t matter who it is or what they believe in - this is a hard time for them. No one should ever be told they deserve to lose a loved one because of their beliefs. It doesn’t matter if he was autistic or not, a 16 year old boy’s life has ended, and his family deserves respect during this time. They do not deserve the abuse they are being subjected to by some of the people on this wall. As the old saying goes - “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”.
Although they do not have the same beliefs I do, my thoughts and prayers are with John and Kelly and their daughter, Ella during this time.
i feel so bad for the family.
i will keep jett and his family in my prayers
so sad:(
:(
I predict John and Kelly divorce within a year. I don’t see that marriage lasting much longer.
I feel sorry for Jett. His parents refused to take him to a doctor and get the proper medication for his life-threatening seizures. Their negligence caused his death.
That kid never had a chance. Scientology doomed him from birth.
That’s terrible. My thoughts and condolences are with the family. R.I.P
Bless the Travolta Family,
The lord sent them a perfect angel and now he has take him home, Jett’s puropse on earth was to show us the reality of a pure soul. Let us learn from a master.
Pat
We have four children 11 to 16, and we couldn’t imagine loosing one of them in any way. We send our heart felt condolences to your family. God be with you in this time of need, and remember, Jet would want you to be strong for his sister and will always be with you in your hearts. We may not know you, but we have never seen a bad report on your son which tells us growing up in Hollywood wasn’t an issue because you raised him right, he was always smiling in every photo, and seemed so happy. You gave him a great life, just as you were blessed to have him, he was blessed to have you as well.
All our best to you all of you!

I first want to say how sad this all is. I enjoy John Travolta as an actor and can’t imagine what he and his family must be going through at this time.
Ok, I’m no Scientologist, and I do think that Autism is more than likely, but here is something interesting I found on the web tonight:
” Kawasaki syndrome was first identified among Japanese children in 1967, and within nine years, the illness had been reported in American children living in Hawaii. Although researchers assume that the Kawasaki syndrome could have been caused by an infection that was carried between Japan and Hawaii, there has been no confirmation that Kawasaki syndrome can be transmitted via contact between people. Recent evidence suggests that inherited (genetic) factors may also be important, but the cause of Kawasaki syndrome remains a mystery.”
Ok, first of all, if you look up Kelly Preston, you will see she is of mixed white and Hawaiian descent and was born in Hawaii, and even has a Hawaiian middle name. Perhaps a possibility?
Even more:
People with Kawasaki syndrome can have other symptoms that are not part of the definition of the disease. These can include:
* Pain and swelling of the joints
* Diarrhea
* Vomiting
* Abdominal pain
* Cough
* Earache
* Runny nose
* Irritability
* Seizures
* Weakness in the arms or legs
* Weakness of facial muscles
* Heart rhythm abnormalities
* Signs of heart failure
Also:
Parents generally are warned against giving aspirin to children because it can trigger Reye’s syndrome, a serious disorder that can damage the brain and liver. However, aspirin is the best treatment for Kawasaki syndrome, so the benefits outweigh the risk of Reye’s syndrome, which is rare. The child usually continues to take aspirin for six to eight weeks after the acute symptoms of Kawasaki syndrome subside.
Now what if they HAD given him aspirin when he was 15 months old, after being in the hospital with Kawasaki Syndrome?
Documented cases of Reye’s syndrome in adults have only been very rarely reported. The recovery of adults with the syndrome is generally complete, with liver and brain function returning to normal within two weeks of the illness. In children however, mild to severe permanent brain damage is possible, especially in infants. Over thirty percent of the cases reported in the United States from 1981 through 1997 resulted in mortality.
(you will find all this on Google if you put in reye’s syndrome kawasaki)
(I won’t be checking to see if there are any nasty responses to what I wrote, nor am I a doctor, so please don’t waste your typing on me.)
Robert p (post #209) and Maria diamond (post #215) I agree with both of you. I’ve seen the Scientologists doing damage control on all of the message boards today regarding this news. And they are notorious for doing this. They have people who’s sole job is to respond to comments on Scientology and put a positive spin on it. I’ve spent many years studying this so-called religion, they have very dangerous beliefs and will go to any lengths to protect the secrecy of the terrible things they do.
