Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl keep close in this new movie still from their upcoming rom-com The Ugly Truth, out April 3.
Plot details: A romantically challenged morning-show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her male chauvinist correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and allow her to find love. His clever ploys, however lead to an unexpected result.
”They embark on this ridiculous pairing of two people who are from polar opposite sides of the issue,” Heigl tells EW. ”The whole men are from Mars, women are from Venus thing… [In comparison to my last romantic comedy,] it’s not so soft, and everything isn’t so perfect. This movie was just a little more edgy…enough to make it at least more interesting to the guys who take their girlfriends.”

Gerard needs to seek new management or a new agent!
Why do Cruise and Pitt keep getting the meaty dramatic roles? Gerry has proven that he can do serious acting [see 300 and POTO], but he needs some good material and good direction. What the hell was up with him doing Nims Island and PS I Love You???? Cheesy movies and poor choices! I know Gerard Butler has the ability to act in a very high level drama. He has the ability and the charisma to pull off any dramatic role. Don’t keep wasting your time with Heigl and Anniston they are just bringing you down bro. Your hot now - strike while the iron is still hot!
I can’t wait to see this movie I like Katherine, and I saw the Trailer and it seems pretty funny

Oh, and Jared, if you see this…in the beach photos in the previous post of Gerard..I couldn’t get the smiling one of Gerard to fill out completely. It just went as far as half his face. Anyone else have this problem?

Could somebody please help me discen what is so special about Gerald Butler? He has a bulbous countenance, is always unkempt looking, and appears quite bloated more often than not. I can understand liking somebody because of their talent, in which case, I do not have an opinion on GB. However, that doesn’t translate in to being physically attractive. Gerald Butler IMO doesn’t hold a candle in the looks department to Jude Law, Mathew McCaughney, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Huge Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Josh Duhamel, Robert Downey Jr., among others. These individuals truly have “leading man” good looks. If I didn’t know he was a “star,” I wouldn’t look twice at him in a million years! Yuck!
hummmm..Different strokes for different folks….personally, I find Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Jude Law overrated….as well as Tom Cruise however, I liked Last Samarai. Gerard is pretty talented and I’ve seen some of his earlier works as well as some now. Try renting The Jury, Please or 300. What I find appealing about Gerard is that he plays a different broad of characters..from warrior to playboy as in this Ugly Truth coming out in the Spring. When I watch Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt…I don’t see their character..I SEE THEM…acting They somehow, don’t immerse themselves into the character…As for physical looks..I’ve seen Gerard up close and personal..and WOW..he’s gorgeous….
Have to agree #31, he always look too fleshy and scruffy for my taste.

The trailer actually looks very cute. They seem to have good chemistry together. Heigl must be doing something right or she wouldn’t be getting such good box office hits.
Even though Gerard Butler is in it, the movie seems lame and corny. Which essentialy means I will not go out and see it.

I AM NOT WASTING MY MONEY ON THAT MOVIE
I’ll see it because Gerard Butler is in it. The “R” rating is, IMHO, the only thing saving it from being just another predictable rom-com. But I’m looking forward to seeing him play a raunchy, romantic rogue. Which is actually, something he’s never done on screen before.
I look forward to seeing this movie. I saw the trailer and it looked really funny!
Way back, I think Gerry was pretty much a rogue in the UK tv series Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married. And, boy, was he a BEAUTIFUL boy in that. Now, he’s graduated to a hot man. Probably the hottest MAN in movies IMHO.
Man! This has the potential to be a lame a$$ed, seen it all before, kind of movie. How many more of this kind of film do we have to see at the box-office. Move on!
