OlderPete Wentz Loves (And Hates) Brad Pitt
Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz has taken to his blog again to list his “Top 9 Gripes of 2008″ as well as his “Top 9 Favorite Things of 2008″. Strangely enough, Brad Pitt’s latest movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, made both lists.
GRIPE: “This is a weird one because it’s definitely on my top list as well. I just think i over hyped this in my own head. This gets nowhere near the [F. Scott] Fitzgerald short story based on the Mark Twain quote I would have imagined in my high school brain. I hate how jumpy the movie is and I honestly don’t think there is much chemistry between Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. I also think it’s kind of a cop-out to push it forward some sixty years in my mind just to have it conclude with some relation to Hurricane Katrina.”
FAVORITE: “It’s weird that I put this on both lists but the truth is you can’t deny [Director David] Fincher’s eyes for film. Also, I give it to Brad Pitt for picking interesting roles. The idea of this narrative is mind-blowing and at times I fell for the story.” (TCCOBB is in theaters now.)
Another notable Top 9 Favorite of Pete’s: “Watching John Mayer doing Van Halen better than Van Halen in an amphitheater in Southern California. Shirts optional, solos mandatory.”

#50, no you’ll settle for getting tattoos and microdermasion to help smooth out the wrinkles, like Jolie and Pitt. Don’t be so judgmental. Even for all the other stuff they do, the Jolie-Pitts still like their luxuries as much as the next rich *******, and I don’t blame them or hate them for it because I’d do it too if I had the cash, but don’t act like Pete and Ashley are more superficial.

Everyone in Hollywood spends time and money on their looks. They have to. It’s how they make their living. It’s the people who obviously have had plastic surgery, injections, etc that deny they did and claim it’s from eating healthy and 30 mins of pilates a day who are the joke. CCOBB will win for best picture and Fincher should win for director. It’s a grand sweeping type of movie that HW loves. Should Pitt be nominated? Well he was brilliant as the old/young Benjamin. His scenes with Jason and Tilda were good. His scenes with Blanchett were not. Cate isn’t very good in this film…Pitt will be nominated because the academy screwed him over with Babel and Warner’s and the academy screwed him over for TAOJJ. He should of been nominated for both those two films. He’ll get one for this but Sean Penn will probably win

Benjamin Button is a great movie. A must see. It keeps you glued to the screen. Never a dull moment.
There is plenty of Oscar buzz surrounding this movie. Brad did an outstanding job.
I disagree with #53. I think Brad, Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke will be nominated but Mickey Rourke(if he keeps his mouth shut) will win .

This is another celebrity who wanted to get easily noticed by simply mentioning Brad’s name/ film in the guise of becoming a film critic. Now, he’s being noticed somehow, although earning the ire of JP fans who he may not have realized are so many & world-wide.
It’s interesting to note that this “sudden fim critic” is a close friend of John Mayer who is the current fling of Brad’s former wife whose movie regular screening coincides with that of Brad’s.
Sure, it is always said that one’s opinion must be respected but sometimes we can’t help but question the motive of the person who’s saying it, especially if it’s done publicly, and if he happens to be connected to the subject in one way or another.
This idiot scared that CCOBB and Brad will get Oscar nomination.
Brad will get nominated for sure.

I have to agree with him about Cate & Brad. LOVED! Tilda & Brad and their little storyline was so touching and sad. I didn’t get that from Cate & Brad, but I did between Cate and the future character of BB. The movie should be a college course. It haunted me for two days and I need to see it again and might this weekend. I really think Nicole Kidman would have been excellent n the role. She can express that almost bi-polar characterisation better than most. Or maybe Julianne Moore too. I’m mad crazy about Cate, but Tilda was sublime. She and Taraji were the best female roles.
Brad was SO amazing. His subtext and knowing and subtle way just made this film a classic when I didnt think anymore classics were in the mix. It just makes you think and I love it.
I bet Brad’s rent’s were in awe with this one. I wondered if he looked like a relative with the old man makeup. Queenie! Taraji MUST be nominated. The woman was amazing.
I think Pete is a guy who tends to believe he’s more forward thinking, more intellectually ahead, more urbane and learned and well read than the next guy. He’s not. My God, the dude married a Simpson!

There are other good film that you could have had a love, hate opinion of, so lets go all the way and let us hear what you really think of Mr Bradley Pitt , Since you are good friend to John and he is suppose to be going with the x pitt. I am pissed because you are trying to ditch Brad. I saw the movie and it was the best movie I have seen in a long time and I have seen many. I simply love the CCOBB.. I watch the movie again last night … and love the movie even MORE.. It’s was AMAZING.. I fills sorry to those who thinks otherwise.
