Sarah Jessica Parker Hits Final Hairspray
Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick take their son James Wilkie, 7, to see the final performance of Hairspray on Broadway at New York City’s Neil Simon Theater on Sunday (January 4).
After 31 previews and 2,641 regular performances, the curtain fell for the hit musical in its final show, which starred original cast members (and Tony Award winners) Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
Also spotted in the audience: Bravo TV exec Andy Cohen (yes, the same one who vacationed with 007 star Daniel Craig all week in St. Bart’s). Andy and SJP are longtime friends.

I love SJP! I think she’s a great actress and super funny.
Holy Schnikies that woman should be ashamed for dragging the poor boy along like that. Surely the rest of his peers must tease him for his appearance. I understand not wanting to flaunt your money, but the poor kid needs a hair trim and some proper fitting clothes!

SJP mentioned in one article that she has so many nieces and nephews
that she dresses her son in their hand-me-downs. She said she didn’t think she’d ever had to buy him any clothes. That’s why the poor kid is always in highwaters and clothes too small! Never seen him wearing anything that actually fits!
Poor kid! She’ll spend 1,000 on a handbag, while her kid looks like a street urchin.
Boo! She’s sure not doing him any favors!
BTW…nothing against hand-me -downs! My son’s are close in age, so of course the younger one wore his brother’s hand-me downs.
Soon though, they outgrew one another, so the clothes no longer fit….
So, I BOUGHT HIM SOME CLOTHES THAT FIT! And though it would have been wonderful, they could not share clothes anymore.
Also, boys with long hair that is nicely kept is totally fine…I even include Celine Dion in that category… her kids hair is clean, and HEY, it’s the way he wants it!
SJP on the other hand…her son looks like his hair never even gets a comb through it…He looks like a neglected child! SJP needs to get over her past, and give her son the things she didn’t have, rather than make him remember her welfare days! I feel sorry for him!
Matthew Broderick…He looks like a grandpa that shops at the thrift shop…and picks his used clothes from the 5 cent rack.
His clothes do fit. They are called knickers. Not my choice for a winter outfit, but I’m not an artsy person. Leave the kid alone, he’s cute and will grow up surrounded by parents who love him. That’s all he’ll need.
