Love this picture! It shows confidence and comfort in his own skin. He looks so much better than those who men who are using surgery and hair dye to turn back the clock…and they lose their sexyness. No pretty boy Brad is a MAN aging like fine wine. Good for you Angie for supporting him in doing this cover and being an incredible role model for his kids!

I personally think that Brad should have not replied to anything related to Maniston. Since he did, my anlysis is that by throwing the blame on the tabloid feet he pit the media and his ex against each other…like to de-solidarize them. At this point, every one of the media will try to blame the feeder aka the pitty partiyer Maniston who will be seen as an hypocrit.

By doing so, her own actions and responsability would be put out there more often by a media which doesn’t like to be played on as Maniston wants to eat on both plate without taking responsability.

All he had said only stress the fact that Angelina is above them all in terms of openness and honesty and candidness and this will reinforce that impression that she is strong, royal, loyal and dignified while every whinning from the X risk to be criticized by the same press who both her and Brad blamed for igniting the triangle. I guess Angelina will beneift more than anyone from all of this, while Maniston will be more and more perceived as a looser the more she whines.

I’m not going to sit here and lie, the fact that he defends his ex wife calls her a sweetheart and she was a big part of his life after the comments she made is pathetic, why do you still talk to a woman who made those comments about the mother of your children,baffling.Brad is trying to please everyone here but you can’t in this instance,maniston said those comments she was not dragged into it,this man will always think his ex wife is good and kind while angie get the brunt,the tabloids will love the jen is a sweetheart comment,in my opinion his ex wife did not need defending-whatever

After reading the full article I was reminded of something both Brad and Angie have said recently - that they’ve completely cut themselves off from the tabs. I’d lay good money that Brad didn’t read X’s Vogue article himself and only heard about it secondhand. That leads me to 4 possibilities for him being so nice about it…
.
1. He’s being sarcastic and tweaking X’s “good girl” image.
.
2. He’s refusing to play X’s back-and-forth PR games and trying to end the “Bermuda Triangle” once and for all.
.
3. He doesn’t know about X’s little off-record rant before she went ON record with the “uncool” comment, which therefore means she wasn’t “drawn into” anything. B#tch flat out set it up.
.
4. He’s still stuck in the unfortunate habit of never bashing his exes. It’s been 11 1/2 years and I’m STILL waiting for him to rip Putrid for cheating on him. Needless to say I gave up hope of seeing this happen about 11 years ago…

Again, Brad played this perfectly. It’s just like when someone insults you and you are gracious in reply. Everyone still knows the one doing the insulting is wrong. The insulter is still viewed as a loser but now seems even worse because the insulted is being so nice about it.

I cannot believe there are some here who don’t get what Brad is doing. How can you misinterpret this so badly? Someone upthread did nail it when she said Brad has taken the wind out of her sails. He has shown everyone who is the better person. As if everyone didn’t already know.

Just think about what he said. At first I was upset. But I reread it. Brad has taken the steam out of x’s sails. People always want a strong or aggressive reply when sometimes the best defense is very subtle. He has already called x a dead end. He has said he didn’t want her to have his children. He can’t continue to kick her. So he calls her a sweetheart. Hell I call people I hardly know sweetheart. He is being very classy with her.

But the important thing is he has cleared Angie of breaking up his marriage. They were still filming, and he and x were separated, and they did not fool around. x can’t ever say uncool again. To come out and berate x would serve no purpose at all for him or Angie. He defends Angie and then he talks about having fun taking her picture. x is dismissed. I love it. There are different ways to fight a battle. I was an Angie fan first. But I do like Brad and will continue to like Brad. I know some fans will not be happy. But some fans are never happy. Good night. In the context of the article it seems like he was being very dismissive of the whole subject - and yes, that would tangentially include X’s ongoing Pity Me PR campaign.

However…and it’s a big “however”…The “Walk softly and carry a big stick” approach just REALLY ain’t getting the job done and hasn’t been for almost 4 years. The fact that he’s stated once again, flat out, that Angie and he didn’t get together until AFTER his split from X? The tabs will pick that up play on it. It’s not like they haven’t said before that Angie maintained they didn’t have a sexual affair before he dumped X. The tabs have said it…but…nobody believes it because for some reason grown ass adults can’t wrap their brains around the concept of two of Hollywood’s biggest stars having enough of a moral compass to respect marital vows and not give into physical urges. Celebrities with morals? To most people that’s like the dinosaurs - you’ve heard of them, but you never expect to see one in the flesh.

I know a lot of people think he let X off the hook with the comments of her being pulled into that as if she isn’t responsible for her own words and knew exactly what she was saying and the impact it would have. But I think what he actually did was shut the entire thing down. After his comments there is really no reason for X to ever mention Angie, the kids or the triangle again. He has clearified when they fell in love, he has agreeded and defended Angie, he has basically said Jen knows better that is why she must have gotten pulled into an answer that she knows rings false. He talks about his family and his love for them. His romantic love for Angie through the eyes of the camera lens. I think they got a little kinky with the camera. He says he doesn’t regret the way he handled it, he seems to feel it was above board and everyone involved is aware of that. So, really what is there for X to say at this point? nothing. The triangle is dead. I honestly believe the only contact he and X are having is through their “people” are text.

The more i read into this, the more i perceived what Angie said about Brad, that he is more intelligent that people think he is. I think he is a schemer and this interview has smoothely but efficiently deflect all the the (false) reasons and nasty insinuations from the X to exploit through pitty parties as a professional way of advancement.

Well the business is running dry through Brad’s words saying that the goods were not exactly pitty party sympathy related but just an illusion upon which his ex has surfed for 4 years channeling that illusion through a very tolerant and friendly media.

Another thing that pisses me off as Angie fan is that she plans to stop making movies very soon because of her children. Brad doesn’t talk about retiring.

Why is it the woman who has to retire to raise children? Joanna did for Paul Newman and she was an amazing actress. Angie would have continue making great movies and be known as beautiful, talented and most sought after actress but she is sacrificing too much to be with Brad. What exactly is he sacrificing? He said he wanted 7 kids with Jen, so it’s not like he chose to have a large family because of Angie.

LOL. I think this is a moot issue. ANGIE IS THE ONE WHO SAYS SHE WANTS TO QUIT ACTING. She said that even before she got with Brad. And Brad was the one who said, in his 2004 VF inteview, that Angie seemed to be making movies only so she could give the money away. And didn’t Angie do an interview in London 2 months ago where she said that she and Brad joke about who HAS to go to work because BOTH of them prefer being home with the kids? And that when he took IB she told him, “Okay, honey, now go earn some money.” She also said she was only looking to work “as long as it’s fun and I can be with my family.”

Brad’s not forcing her stay at home with the kids. She WANTS to. And since when is it a crime for a mother to want to be home with her kids? Besides - Angie not working gives her more time to do her humanitarian projects, which is what she really wants to be doing. Even though she’s the highest paid actress…Brad still makes more money per movie than she does. And she gets to do her UNHCR stuff. Sounds like win-win to me.

Oh my, what’s the big deal with calling someone other than the wife/lover sweetheart? English language is full of formulaic words such as this one any way.

When we first got together, my hubby called me sweetheart, and being fresh in America I thought the world of it, then I heard him calling every woman and girl sweetheart and went nut as some of you do here. After a while I realized it was just the American way to be friendly, nothing else. Then I moved on to take offense at his hugging every female acquaintance something the Asians did not do.

Pitt’s friendliness toward his ex is nothing compare to mine’s so enough with this sort of pot stirring.
