I happen to think that Brad DID DEFEND AND PROTECT Angelina. He did this by taking the wind out of x’s sails, by using x’s negative energy against her. It’s subtle. Perhaps you don’t understand it.

Had he been anything else other than nice to x, then it could have been inflammatory.

BTW, not just my opinion but if you value Lainey’s opinion - and I do sometimes :-), then you might find her comments interesting.

Defending without attacking

Brad Pitt on the cover of the February issue of W Magazine, well timed for awards season. Of course the most notable part of the interview is about the triangle. Keep feeding the triangle…only unlike Jennifer Aniston, his comments were not inflammatory.

For someone who claims she wants the controversy to go away, labeling what Angelina did “uncool” probably wasn’t the best move. But then again, Jen understands that she can’t exist with the Pitts. It’s not vice versa. Which is why Brad can afford to be much more magnanimous, defending the mother of his children withOUT attacking his ex wife.

When asked about suggestions that he and Angelina became involved during Mr & Mrs Smith and therefore while he was still married to Aniston, Brad clarifies: “What people don’t understand is that we filmed ['Mr. & Mrs. Smith'] for a year. We were still filming after Jen [Aniston] and I split up. Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t. I’m very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful.”

As for the never ending reports that they all hate each other, specifically tabloid covers claiming the two women are about to throw down by the end of the week, Brad insists it’s much less salacious and goes out of his way to not only compliment Jennifer but also to stand by her as well, arguing that she never intended to publicly criticise the Jolie, that she was cornered into the situation by the media:

“Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all that Angie versus Jen. It’s so created. We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how there cannot be [that]. That’s life, man. That’s life.”

See? MUCH less controversial than what came from her. And boring too.

There are 2 mimis here so I’m not sure which one you are referrring to. If it’s me I have never ridiculed Brad, I used to like the guy a lot but I am not going to pretend that his comments is in Angie’s best interest. That comment will not do him any favours either. Infact it shows him up as not totally truthful when he said that his ex was dragged into her uncool attack on Angie. Why was he making excuses for her when you and I knew she deliberately threw that jab at the mother of his children and other jabs involving their children. If he didn’t know how to answer the question put to him, he should have kept his mouth shut or skipped it. He was married to that bi*ch for 5 or 6yrs you can’t tell me he didn’t know how manipulative she can be. My problem with him is this, he knows Angie has been crucified by the tabloids for the way his ex and her fans have used the media to portray Angie as homewrecker and he did nothing for 4yrs to correct the injustice especially when he now admits that he checks in with her on a regular basis. Why didn’t he do something to nip it from the beginning and stop the vicious hate campaign against Angie, the woman he proclaims to love? Why did he keep quiet for 4yrs? Why does he think it is okay to come to Jen’s defence now and failed to do the same for Angie for so long? I have a problem with all of these. May be someone can explain it to me. He could have asked his wife quietly to lay off Angie since both of them knew the divorce was amicable and Angie was not to blame. On his own admission he still kept in touch with his ex knowing all the innuendos she has been spreading about Angie — it is odd? what do they talk about when they check in with each other while ex continued to hate and throw jabs at Angie? If the situation had been the other way round would he have accepted it and say it was okay? Put yourself in Angie’s position,. If Angie was in contact with an ex love or husband who constantly threw jabs at Brad through the tabloids or on tv shows resulting to so many people hating him I bet you, he wouldn’t say it is okay. Brad could have done more to protect Angie than showing more concern for his ex and her ego while Angie is thrown to the wolfs. That is not how you protect someone you proclaim to love. As I said before I was first an Angie fan before Brad and i gotten to like both of them equally but his comments surprised me. I started questioning certain things —- like why did Jen suddenly start singing his praises while she attacked Angie. Did they agree secretly not to attack each other in public only Angie should get the blame while the cheater — i repeat, the cheater if anyone cheated gets away free. Think about that one. I will not bash him because haters would want that but I feel he should talk more about Angie and less about his ex and his ex better not attack Angie again or else she will have more bad karma this year than she’s ever had in her life time.

What fantasy world do you live in? Jen’s ONLY comment that had anything to do with Jolie was the recent ‘Uncool’ remark. Which I am guessing was said so that Jolie would STFU and quit bringing up the past.

Jolie has been crucified by people because of her past - drugs, blood vials, S&M sex, lesbianism, and for inappropriately kissing her brother, and stealing Billy Bob from Laura Dern. JA did not contribute to any of that. Most of that came from Angie herself.

it’s good that he is comfortable with himself. but really he needs to take care of himself, taking care one’s self is not bad either he is in showbiz and admit it or not he became popular because of his looks first. if he let himself go, there will be limited amount of movies that he can do and he may wake up and see that he looks older than everybody is age. i think angelina is giving him too much problems. i guess what comes around goes around.
