Had a bit of doubt, because of Zwick, but I must admit the movie is pretty good. I loved Liev, Daniel and Jamie but the greatest surprise was George MacKay. Very good!

What is it about this couple that provokes such hatred? Some of you are sooooo full of hatred for them it is slimy and scary. I’d hate to be around some of you.

My friends were there and they said the crowd went wild for Liev and Daniel looked a little taken aback. But he did sign autographs for a long time but Sats went inside.

They didn’t say whether she looked really pissed or not (my friends are not the ones to say that) but she ignored the fans again shouting. They did say that and that she was led away from Daniel to go inside like she didn’t want it.

I am not talking about box office returns for Bond. His danger and angst has gone from his acting, Defiance is very luke warm. He tries WAY too hard in it and people are being overly generous on his performance.

Daniel has become something I’m sure he didn’t want and THAT is a caricature of himself. Bond has overshadowed everything. Granted he may get scripts sent to him because of that, but he is unable at the moment to step from out of the Bond shadow. It is too big. He has created a monster with it and it will eventually destroy him.

I believe that he will actually be living Flashbacks of a Fool, especially since lately he has been acting like a fool. I’m just too disappointed in him right now.

My friends said that Daniel stood back and allowed Satsuki to be interviewed. Whether Sal had a choice, most likely not.

By the way, my friends thought Defiance wasn’t a brilliant movie and they are great critics, they rated his performance as 2 out of 5.
Liev as far more believable. They said that Daniel looked far too concerened with his facial angles and posture rather than content and emotive delivery of his lines.

Overall, they said it was a story that has become very watered down. Too much Daniel again with his body and sex scenes.
Unnecessary in this film but they felt that they had a lukewarm movie so sex scenes with Daniel sell. That doesn’t speak volumes.

They honestly felt that Daniel’s presence made the film worse.

Sex Scenes in this movie, sorry but this is ridiculous. I have seen the movie and you see Daniel shirtless for about 4 seconds. And in this scene he’s sitting in bed and you only see half his upper body and only her head and they are only exchanging one sentence. This was as far away from a sexscene as you can imagine.

That is what my friends considered to be unnecessary. The kissing scenes too. It was a weak script from beginning to end.

I am only relaying what was said to me, no need to bash me.

They deemed that scene unnecessary. If the film was decent, it wouldnt have to rely on the Daniel Craigs and his Body.

He wasn’t playing James Bond, but actor Daniel Craig showed he can still pull off the polished style of his alter ego at the premiere of his latest film.
In a smart grey three-piece suit and with his very own Bond girl - film producer Satsuki Mitchel - by his side, the actor arrived at the European premiere of Defiance in London’s Leicester Square Odeon.
But while Craig looked every inch the polished star, guest Vanessa Feltz had a different attitude when she found the cameras on her.

I have a feeling I know what you’re talking about, a few days before the movie opens, and DC is off vacationing, acting like a fool, when he should have been with Liev promoting the movie. I agree, reallllllllllllly bad decision. The vacation could have waited until after the premiers.

All the actors ingored the protests, walked by them.
A group of them were protesting that Tuvia is a war criminal and shame on Hollywood for leaving the truth out.

These protests will be there for every premiere. a lot of peoplea re disgusted with Hollywood and the actors for not standing up for the real truth.

Liev by all accounts is super into this promotion and I hear is not well pleased.

These protests were expected but I think Liev wants a more hands on approach than Daniel.

I think Daniel wants to move on while Liev has a lot more riding on this.

Naomi Watts would not have been there even if she didnt have a baby. You can tell by Liev he is more genuine about this and doesnt need the glam like Daniel.

I absolutely agree with you. DC seems more concerned about how he looks, and he looks like he’s thinking, “Fine, I’ve been snubbed so I’m going to the premiers like I have to and that’s it.”
While if he was a decent fella, he would help Liev, knowing that he might get a nod of best supporting, just to help a friend. Afterall, what goes around comes around. Help him out, be hands on, do what it takes to help Liev knowing he has a lot riding on this, and then maybe one day, someone will do the same for DC.
But you know what, I think Sats has a lot to do with how DC is acting. I can see her telling him, if they want to snub you, then you snub them back. I think he knew when he left LA that he wasn’t going to make the list, and I think Sats made him decide, fine fuch it, then I’m going on vacation and I’ll show them. That may have been why the whole vacation seemed staged, to show hollywood that he’s still a star with mega bucks and to remind that that “hey, I’m fuchin bond baby.”
I don’t know, but I I wouldn’t sprised if something along those lines happened.
But I’m very disappointed in DC, for his behavior, and not being there for a friend. Very selfish. I don’t blame Liev for being pissed with him in the least bit. DC needs to grow up. I really don’t get it. I have the expression this is all about Daniel bashing.
I’ve seen this movie and I got a totally other impression:
The “sex-scene” (you hardly can call it a sex scene) and kissing scene have been placed very carefully and for a certain reason.
They showed that these people, who survived under circumstances which we all (at least those of us who were born after the second world war)
cannot imagine at all) how these people have build up a comunity and have organized there life as normal as possible.
Why are these scene needles, the kissing scene of Jamie Bell and the scene of celebrating a wedding not?
These people have married, they have got children, some men have chosen a “forrest-wife”, despite the fact that they have already been married.
That’s the human nature, even in those circumstances, to survive, to reproduce.
And this movie doesn’t conceal that one of the driving forces of the brothers has been revenge, it’s as simple as that.
Tuvia took revenge by shooting the police-officer and his sons and Tuvia and Zus have been on a personal venetta at night, seeking revenge by killing nazi-collaborators. This isn’t glorified at all and shown at its terrible cruelty.
Seems as if some people want to shred this movie into pieces by all means.

247- agree, there are definite shifts happening here on many levels.. Dan always enjoyed the ‘ensemble” part of films and casts and working within a “family” like what happens as a journey making a film.

Although he may be outspoken, it just seems a bit off for him to be so selfish and “me first” in promoting a film that he is in?

I am sure that cooler heads are talking with him, privately, and maybe setting him straight on some “facts” or what others may have said or did not say…objectivity that daniel may NOT be able to see or find with her.

I think that somehow, some people are going to start to pull him away from her and he may be hearing things from all different sides, not just from her.

I thnk that Daniel just gave her that to do, just to give her a function, as a previous poster said.
That is just something for her to keep busy with…because it seems to me that the man CLEARLY and ABSOLUTELY knows how to act.

he certainly does NOT need anyone like Satwhatisit telling him how to act or what to do, where to stand in front of a camera.
I think that Daniel just humors her by telling her that is what she can do for him.

AND EACH film has a “VISUAL CONSULTANT” who tells the star these sorts of things while on the set.

It may not be her, you have to remember that the Bond thing happed during this period as well so that could have had a big affect on him and he has become more guarded. I don’t know her but if that is the woman he chooses to be with then not matter I just can’t beleive all of this is her doing.

She is both, she is still his assistant, and I”m she he pays her for that work in money and gifts, i.e., the ring. Remember, there was never an engagement announcement and he has always refused to confirm same, always skating around the issue.
She is his girlfriend also, a relationship that developed, but she is ruining his career. If you have been following his career and his movies, the change is obvious, his entire attitude and personality has changed for the worse since being with her.

From what you are saying it seems then that Daniel has a decision to make…..

choose professonal or personal relationship with her and let one go to someone else

or choose neither and let her go completley

either way things will repair themselves it seems from what you all are saying.

Why does it have to be mapped out for him? Surely he can see it for himself and make that decision for himself. They both look gorgeous, relaxed and happy. I’m sure the only reason Satsuki went inside was because it was so cold last night!! Daniel wouldn’t have been much of a gentleman if he had let Satsuki stand outside in the freezing cold whilest he signed autographs and talked to press, would he?? And we all know that Daniel is a gentleman.
As for the kiss, i thought it was tasteful and sweet, not too over the top. What makes me laugh is that everyone was moaning that he never showed her any affection, and when he does start to, you all moan that you don’t want to see it. I guess the poor guy can’t win!!
