Lisa Marie Presley: Stop Slamming Scientology!

Lisa Marie Presley: Stop Slamming Scientology!

Lisa Marie Presley has taken to her blog to tell her fans that now is NOT the time to be bashing Scientology. Here’s what the daughter of Elvis had to say:

“I wished I could be writing you under happier circumstances but I cannot because two of my very good friends, (John and Kelly Travolta) the sweetest people in the world, have just encountered the worst possible tragedy a parent could be forced to endure, the death of their son Jett.

“My heart is crying and bleeding for them. I personally would not have it in me to bury my own child. I am writing this because I have noticed that for the most part, people and the media have been very sympathetic and respectful, but there are those certain ones that want to use this horrible tragedy as an opportunity to once again, blame and or attack Scientology?”

“Folks, as popular as it has been to discriminate and ridicule Scientology and Scientologist’s in the recent past , Now is NOT the time. I realize that there is a lot of mis information out there about the subject which has caused a lot of stone throwing but we are not still in the dark ages and it is still an Unconstitutional Injustice to partake in and encourage such condemnation.

“Among most of the crazy made up garbage that goes around about it , It is not true that Scientologist’s ‘Don’t believe in’ medical care, medicine or medical Doctors and that may have something to do with this terrible tragedy. Just like anyone else, if one is sick, they go to the doctor, If a medication will make it better then they take it. If they don’t then they are an idiot and you can’t blame their religion. Whatever medical and or physical condition Jett had, I can tell you first hand that his parents were on a tireless, never ending quest to get and provide him with the absolute best care anyone could ever ask for and need, Medically, physically, emotionally, medicinally and spiritually.

“I am not writing this to preach my beliefs, I am here to protect my friends. To the few of you out there that this may apply to, Let’s not use the tragic death of a child to facilitate your insatiable need to attack and destroy Scientology shall we? John and Kelly have done nothing but spend their lives and their time helping others, making people happy and making peoples lives better. Please let this family grieve in peace. ~LMP

Lisa, 40, also had this to say about her 3-month-old twin girls Harper and Finley: “PS, I am so sorry it has been such a long time since I have written. I have just been soaking up the love and the happiness that these two little babies have brought us. More on that soon…….:) Thank you so much for all of your well wishes. I love and miss you very much. I’ll be in touch.”

I agree. Some people are disgusting. I’ve seen people trying to slam scientology during a terrible time for the Travolta’s. That’s horrible of them.

ITA with her @ 01/06/2009 at 3:48 pm

even if I DO believe S’ology is more than a bit cultish (from my own personal experiences with a member). John & Kelly and their kids have always expressed to the world an obvious head over heels love for each other, and it sucks that some in the media tryng to sell its gossip rags and shows, and some others who crusade against the philosophy, also wanna use the childs death for their purposes.

# 3

Shes right, its not the time to be slashing Scientology, but something needs to be done about it. Its a CULT.

# 4

Wonderfully written. I hope people read and lay off.

# 5

““Folks, as popular as it has been to discriminate and ridicule Scientology and Scientologist’s in the recent past ”

Guilty of apostrophe abuse!

# 6

Never liked her, but KUDOS for this post, could not agree more, some people go WAY to faar!

# 7

Well maybe I haven’t read a lot about this but None of the articles I have read about Jett talked about scientology, so I dont know why she is commenting. There seem to be somewhat conflicting stories about how exactly he died but as much as I dislike Travolta, I dont doubt that he did everything he could to save his child, it is clear that he is a loving parent.

# 8

$cientology is a very scary, very dangerous cult. That said, my heart does go out to John and Kelly, as it is a tragic thing to lose a child.

# 9

“It is not true that Scientologist’s ‘Don’t believe in’ medical care, medicine or medical Doctors and that may have something to do with this terrible tragedy.”

She’s lying or playing word games. Scientologists do not believe in psychiatrists or psychiatric drugs. Remember when Tom Cruise ranted a couple of years ago about Brooke Shields taking (and promoting) antidepressant medication for her postpartum depression?

Sorry, but sometimes difficult questions must be asked. Especially if asking them might help prevent future tragedies of this nature.

Bubbaness @ 01/06/2009 at 4:07 pm

Very nice until I got to her signature and thought it meant “last menstrual period”.

Scientologists claim that a psychological diagonsis is not medical.

They also claim that they are not involved in any medical diagnosis.

A psychological diagnosis is not medical? EXCUSE ME?

If they are not involved in medical diangosis - how can they claim what is and what is not medical?

If Tom Cruise wants to find out about the Emotional Trauma involved with having a child I suggest he gets a sex change opperation and find out - Otherwise He should STFU about something he will never know nothing about!

This woman is an idiot. Most people don’t care that much about Scientology - in fact, the founder’s self-stated goal was to invent a ‘religion’ and see which suckers would come along. And as we can see, there are a lot of them…but that isn’t the issue.

People have the right to ask if Travolta’s son was deprived of medication because of his parents’ beliefs. This isn’t bashing a religion, it’s posing a question which should be asking because it’s a matter of simple child care.

If she doesn’t want to understand this, then she is just an idiot. I’ve always thought so, this is just confirmation.

I think she’s absolutely right.
Even when you think that Scientology is a bad thing:
you can discuss that later!
It’s such a sad tragedy for the Travolta family and
at this moment it’s not the right time to discuss about Scientology.
It’s not important whether Jett Travolta died for rumoured reasons.
He’s dead! The media shouldn’t use this for criticism.
I don’t think that parents (whatever tehy believe in) would ever risk the life of their own children! That’s such a bullshit!
I’m really upset about these rumours.
It shows that the press is heedless and insensible!

William Johnson @ 01/06/2009 at 4:10 pm

Just another PR piece from the $cientologists. A feeble attempt to divert attention from the REAL crimes here, how $cientology kills people.

As long as there are cults who attempt absolute mind control over their followers this sort of thing will happen.

Like one news reporter said, Scientologist are not Christian Scientist.

The Christian Scientist are the ones who absolutely refuse medication, and only use prayer to heal ills.

There are also the Jehova’s Witnesses who are against blood transfusions.

So ever since the whole Tom Cruise thing happened, they made this big rumor that Scientologist oppose all meds… that’s not true, but some nasties keep pushing this idea.

Sorry, John Travolta has taken these last few days to fill the airwaves with a spin on the situation to garner sympathy and not clear up discrepancies with the police as to there being a more than ten hour wait time before Jett was reached. And now the Travoltas have quickly cremated him.

#10, Anthony - said perfectly. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and realistically, not everyone has the same opinion as Lisa Marie Presley or other Scientology followers. So, in my opinion, LMP’s statement was uncalled for. No one is telling her to stop practicing it if that is her interest and if someone has a “bad opinion of Scientology,” he/she has the right to express it! It’s a terrible time for the Travoltas, may his son rest in peace and Jett’s family find peace!

Anthony @ 01/06/2009 at 4:00 pm

Sorry, but sometimes difficult questions must be asked. Especially if asking them might help prevent future tragedies of this nature.
_____

Exactly. Some people may not be old enough to remember a few mothers tricking the nation after having a hand in the death of their own children.

“Scientologists claim that a psychological diagonsis is not medical.

They also claim that they are not involved in any medical diagnosis.”

Thank you. So she is playing word games. When she writes about “medical care, medicine or medical Doctors” she’s not including psychiatric care, psychiatric medicine or psychiatric doctors.

We have all, including myself, expressed our condolences, for if nothing else, Jett’s soul to rest in peace.

Maybe Scientology practices have “rescued” adults such as Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and Lisa Marie Presley, but not unknowing children like Jett who did not have a choice.

pr person @ 01/06/2009 at 4:21 pm

Right…this coming from a person who belongs to the same ‘religion’ as Jenna “have you raped a baby” Elfman who once stated that Aids is only a state of mind. Kind of makes you want to go and do some research before you believe a word that comes out of their mouths, doesn’t it?

When a child dies, it’s natural to wonder why.

When a child dies who had obvious developmental problems that went unacknowledged and untreated by his parents, is it NECESSARY to ask why.

We will never know if Jett was autistic or if he suffered from different developmental issues, but it’s clear form the testimony of many who worked with him and what little video footage is available that something was wrong with the boy, something that his parents blamed on a childhood disease that is not tied to any of the symptoms he showed in later life. (pro tip: Kawasakis only causes “febrile seizures”, seizures that happen during a fever, not the kind that Jett experienced)

Treatment may not have saved Jett’s life, but it may have improved the time that he had here. My heart goes out to the grieving parents, my rage to the community that forced them to treat their son like a leper.

Off Topic….but has this woman done anything remotely interesting other than: be the daughter of Elvis and to marry Michael Jackson?

As far as Jett Travolta goes:
Whether or not he had Autism is up to debate. Autism is not a fatal condition. As his parents they had the right to treat that condition as they saw fit. It seems that they ensured his safety, were very protective of him and loved him enough to give him the best of opportunities. There is no reason they needed to make him a “poster boy” for Autism awareness.

That being said. If he had a reoccurrent seizure disorder and was NOT under medical care, that could be defined as medical neglect.

Earlier reports I have read stated he was given anti-convulsants which minimize seizures but do not always stop them completely.

In any case this is a tragedy for the Travolta family. I believe they did what they thought was best for their son.

Bravo to LMP.. Leave the Travoltas alone.. who cares what religion they are.

christian scientist @ 01/06/2009 at 4:27 pm

Hey Lisa Marie,

I agree with you 100% but I want you to edit your post a bit. I am a Christian Scientist and find myself in the same boat as you. But I would like you to edit your blog or give a shout out to us ” Christian Scientist” because we believe strongly in the power of prayer, and through our prayer healing groups have seen tremendous miracles happen, without the use of any medication. I would like you to re-edit your comments and just let it be known, I don’t think you meant any offense to the Christian Science community, as you may not be aware of our small group.

Elvis Presley had this to say about Scientology:

“There’s no way I’m ever gettin involved with that son of a bitchin’ group. All they want is my money.”

Too bad daughter couldnt be as wise as her dad.

# 14 Dati said “I don’t think that parents (whatever tehy believe in) would ever risk the life of their own children! That’s such a bullshit!”

O RRY? Don’t be so naive. Try wiki or Google for Jonestown; Children of God; Scientology; cult child abuse; day care cult rituals; father faked Amber Alert killed son, etc etc.

There are plenty of horrible parents that risk the lives of their own children every single day both in and out of cults. That’s why every state has a foster care system that’s clogged with throw away children and every major city has homeless teen runaways that would rather prostitute themselves on the streets that to go home.

from a news article:

Church of Scientology International member Tommy Davis confirmed those practicing the religion would not seek conventional treatment for seizures.

ok, so official church mouthpiece admits Travoltas would not use medical expertise with their son. I am sorry for them, but this is worth looking into, if for no other reason than to save other lives. So Jett doesn’t die in vain.

I’ll post this again:

****Jett Travolta’s Death: Police Disagree With Family on Timeline****

Police in the Bahamas are disagreeing with John Travolta’s staff in the wake of the New Year’s Day death of his son Jett, 16, at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel about how long the teenager lay undiscovered in the bathroom.

Police are reporting that Jett was left alone for more than ten hours from when he was last seen heading to his bedroom at the Travolta’s vacation townhouse at 6 PM after a day of boating with his family. Jett’s nanny, Jeff Kathrein, reportedly found Jett lying on the bathroom floor at 11:30 PM, TMZ reports.

Jett Travolta, who was disabled, was nonverbal and required the use of a baby monitor and a special chime to summon his two male nannies if required.

Kathrein and the Travolta’s attorney, Michael McDermott, says that Kathrein went to the bathroom in the time span between 6 PM when Jett left the room and 11:30 PM when his body was discovered so Jett was reportedly not unattended for ten hours.

The teenager is alleged to have possibly had a seizure and struck his head, which could have caused his death. McDermott also reports that Jett was known to sleep for 12 to 16 hours a day so him not being present for a long period of time would not have been unusual.

The official cause of death will be reported by the coroner on Monday.

Their attorney reports that Jett’s parents John Travolta and Kelly Preston have “stopped crying long enough last night to try to write a press statement, which they haven’t finished.”

I’m waiting on unbiased, medical professionals to release an official statement or be on camera, not Travolta or his lawyer.

I think what people hate about Scientology is it looks (from the outside looking in) more like an evil corporation than a religion. With that said… I feel sad for John, Kelly, and their little girl. I know first hand that it gets easier (with time) but it never gets easy. God Bless

John & Kelly could have used their celebrity status & their millions bringing sorely needed attention to the cause of autism if their beliefs did not outlaw such things. It is a celebration of the life of a child such as Jett to acknowledge who he was & the obstacles he overcame. To deny that is the saddest thing of all.

There is a need for free & open debate on this subject & the question of their ‘church’s’ peculiar & secretive practices. Yes there will be commentary that we individually find upsetting or offensive, but in the end that is the only way to reach truth.

It is as distasteful to read pro-$cientology propaganda as it is to read the acres of gossip & speculation. Perhaps a dignified silence on the part of all those connected to the family would quiet the critics?

Support expressed through the media is an odd way to demonstrate care.

Bravo! I’m an atheist but I hate how Scientology gets a greater raw deal than any of these other religions and I hate that Scientology critics are using this opportunity to judge people they’ve never met and promote their agenda.

There are other medical ailments besides psychiatric ones, #9.

He’s long since shut up and apologized, #12. He can’t go back in time and unsay what he said. Just forgive and forget already.

People aren’t just asking that, #13. They’re already jumping to that conclusion and are calling for arrests.

You and your conspiracy theories and your twisting of events disgust me, #17.

I don’t remember your condolences. Just your accusations, theories and judgments.

No dumber than people who believe the Earth is 6,000 years old, #18.

I think only his doctors and parents would know if there ever was something wrong with him no matter how ‘obvious’ it seemed, #24.

TMX reports, #35?

Assuming that their child WAS autistic you mean, #38?

If now is not the time for tough questions, when is? The prominent Scientologists have been put on damage control, so Lisa is just doing her part.

Jett was autistic and he lived most of his life with weekly seizures because of their so-called religion. He died because of it. The authorities should look into it now, not later.

Who cares?

Scientology IS NOT RELIGION is A SECT.

Scientologist are depressing.

She said everything i was thinking of. I have noticed people making rude comments & they shouldnt at a time like this, YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENNED & im pretty sure that no parent would want their child to die, so have some respect.

And obviously it’s not a “conspiracy theory” dumb*** since you finally saw the article.

Scientology makes brainwashing.

With all due respect to Lisa, this was predictable it was just a matter of what high profile Scientology follower it would come from and when. In fact I said this would come in a previous post. She has a right to her opinion and the family to their grief but there were many factors in the way the situation was handled that didnt sit right with many people. I agree with #10 though, sometimes hard questions need to asked at difficult times and I still maintain that if this had been a normal family I dont believe the police would have been essentially silenced, the autopsy would report would have been so vague, or that cremation would have been allowed so quickly. Hopefully this will open the door to constructive and much needed insight into how certain medical issues are handled by those following Scientology and IF in SOME and if things like Autism are not being treated as effectively as they could or should be and IF there are facts that some members of the religion (like any religion) should be willing to be accountable for and speak the truth on. If you have nothing to hide you hide nothing. If Scientology believes issues like Autism and severe (potentially life threatning) mental disorders are being treated acurately, safely and effectively by their religion then why not welcome constructive dialogue?

And, I’m not here to argue with Mr. Pink/Blonde/Psycho Freak etc. I made my point and have things to do. Peace. Healthy discussion of a murky situation is perfectly fine in my book.

Scientology is for losers. Look at Tom Cruise. Yuck !

http://www.mayflower777.book.fr

@ #39 - No atheist sits around thinking about how Scientology gets a greater raw deal than other religions, or comes to JJ to argue with like 8 people.

In response to #39 your point has been asked & answered I think Mr Pink. I have seen no records of young children in the first throes of Kawasaki syndrome needing the care measures Jett Travolta did, let alone young men years past the point of infection or symptoms.

However in teenagers with autism the need for two carers, door alarms & a special diet…

Rather common.

It is not the time to dwell on this but one only needs to see the footage of Jett that is rapidly being removed from the internet to see what his symptoms were. In the 21st century it is distasteful to deny disability, whatever your beliefs.

ladysdsandiego @ 01/06/2009 at 5:23 pm

i love her. you tell ‘em like it is lisa!

OMG…. the $cientologists are absolute experts at manipulating painful situations to their own profit and benefit. It is a good thing that people are using this obvious opportunity to criticize the cult.

True story from an Anonymous protest of Scientology in Clearwater. This is sad, but 100% truth.

“…But the most important thing that happened the whole night happened while we were wrapping up. The fireworks had gone, as well as the majority of the thousands of people that were there. We stood firm and continued to flier.

But when most everyone had left, a woman and her two children came up to us. By the time I was called over to speak to her, she was crying. She was a frail thing, skinny and small with a quiet young son and an unabashed, sugar crazed daughter, who was having a blast.

My fellow anons said she was eager for information about upcoming protests. I told her some specifics and she said she wanted to get involved… Then came more tears.

She told me that she went to the cult in a time of need. You see her quiet little, beautiful, son was a sufferer of autism. He was withdrawn, and shy. When he spoke it was deliberate… almost labored.

The Cult had told her that they could fix her son. They had the technology… if she had the money. They also told her that her sons affliction was her fault. A direct representation of mistakes she had made in her life. We told her that is EXACTLY why we’re out here. NO ONE should ever have to be told that a disability is their fault. NO ONE should ever be told that they have DAMAGED their child. And no one should have false hope dangled in their face while someone else lifts their wallet.

We told her that it was not her fault. And we told the boy that it wasn’t his fault and there was nothing “wrong” with him. He was a special child. To which she broke out in another wave of tears. Bending down to him and saying “Did you hear that? Its not your fault. There’s nothing wrong with you.”

THIS is why we’re here. For these people that would have trusted those who come under the guise faith to be faithful, and have been betrayed.”

This is what Scientology does. LMP, wake up. Now is the time to question. This woman’s child could have had the same fate as Jett thanks to CoS.

This coming from the lady that Scientology told to marry Michael Jackson so they could get his money. Bunch of freaks. Why should we stop protesting human rights abuses just because one of them is burying a kid that died from such abuses?

Damage control, #40? Try defending a friend from vultures like you.

“Jett was autistic and he lived most of his life with weekly seizures because of their so-called religion. He died because of it.”

YOU. DON’T. KNOW. THAT. FOR. SURE.

Decent human beings, #43. That’s who care.

That article sure fooled me with all those ‘…TMZ reports’ I saw.

Of course it was expected, #48. There are witch hunts in the middle of parents’ grieving and someone has to speak up about it. And does it matter if she was a Scientologist?

You’re trying to find conspiracies where none exist by imagining vague and quick investigations and procedures.

This atheist does, #51.

A boy dying is an obvious opportunity, #54?!!?!

If a non-Scientologist defended you judgmental vultures, they’d simply be defending a poor couple who lost their child. When a Scientologist does the same thing, they are ‘manipulating painful situations to their own profit and benefit.’

Your double standards disgust me.

How do you know any of that for sure, #56?

The Scientologists once tried to recruit Elvis, Fike says. He recalls that Elvis fumed: “The hell with those people. There’s no way I’ll ever get involved with that s.o.b. group. All they want is my money.”

If Elvis knew what his little girl was doing with his money he’d roll over in his grave!

Want to know what Lisa Marie went through in the cult? Ex-cult insiders tell all at http://www.lermanet.com/cos/lisamarie.html It’s worth a read. Then you’ll either feel sorry for Lisa, or wish her daddy was still alive to lay have a few words with her on her devotion to a cult.

wonton hooligan @ 01/06/2009 at 5:44 pm

“it is still an Unconstitutional Injustice to partake in and encourage such condemnation.”

ORLY? Amazing! When did little Lisa Marie get a degree in constitutional law?

I’m not sure she’s really up on her L. Ron Hubbard, either.

““Among most of the crazy made up garbage that goes around about it , It is not true that Scientologist’s ‘Don’t believe in’ medical care, medicine or medical Doctors and that may have something to do with this terrible tragedy. Just like anyone else, if one is sick, they go to the doctor, If a medication will make it better then they take it. ”

Yet Hubbard said, “Thats epilepsy. I dont care how they call it. Sometimes they really seize and sometimes its just slight. One of those, if an epileptic ever took you by the hand and so forth, hes liable to break every bone in your hand, if he suddenly had a seizure. But the doctors keep them on something to prevent this. Its just a tranquilizer and they keep them on that one year, year in and year out. And then you come along as an auditor and you try to audit the pc and you tell the pc that hell have to go off that drug. And then all of a sudden, why something will happen from someplace or another that the pc will tell the doctor that they have been taken off the drug by the auditor. And the doctor will call up plaintively asking you to please put her back on the drug because she needs this”

#56 can’t be 100% sure. It is fact that CoS was after Elvis’ money. Elvis is even quoted as saying as much. So after he dies his family turns to it getting his money.

Then there is a new king, a king of pop with a new generation of money. So what happens? The daughter of the King, now a convert tries to get a king. She became what her father hated. A person trying to lure people into a cult for money

Ciao cubao @ 01/06/2009 at 5:46 pm

It’s none of your goddamn business what this kid’s condition was… as far as we know, when he was younger he had Kawasaki, the Travoltas have not spoken about any other conditions nor denied nor even mentioned autism in public. I’m annoyed at the media who don’t have their facts straight. Obviously the Travolta’s felt it was the right thing to do to protect their kid’s privacy and also not go out and publicize something in an era where the media just likes salacious stories. It’s respectable how the Travolta’s have handling their sons passing with privacy and grace, that it has not become a spectacle like with Anna Nicole. Though I was a fan of Anna and I don’t mean to say nothing bad about that whole thing last year, but it seems to me like the Travolta family have been really good at keeping this whole thing decent, while the media tries to exploit this death. As for is all this bashing from the psychopathic haters … they said it, they did restort to meds for this kid, it lost it’s effectiveness…. now you jerks can leave off of them, but no you don’t want to, cause you want to start this big religious controversy. I’m surprised your assess are so eager to tear them to bits, spewing this anti-drug crap, but I don’t see your asses hammering the Christian Scientist- those guys don’t use medication whatsoever- now where are your websites hammering the christian scientist who only use prayer healing to cure illness- you guys wreak of attention whores- I guess conspiracy theories with the Travolta’s are more lucrative right?

I completely agree with her. I personally feel people should back off of scientology all together. If you don’t truly understand it then why are you commenting? As for John and Kelly Travolta they seem like very nice people, as well as Tom Cruse. So who cares in there beliefs?

There is nothing wrong about talking bad about $cientology. I’m sorry about Mr. Travolta’ s recent tragedy, but people can still air their intense dislike for a cult group started by a washed up Sci-fi wannabee author.

Oh stop being such a cult ;)

I have never read or heard anything about Scientology not believing in general medicine practiced by medical/surgical doctors, so that’s not even the issue here.

What is not recognized and often dismissed by Scientology is any disorder of a psychiatric nature. That includes, more infamously, anything like post-partum depression or, more importantly, any of the autistic spectrum disorders.

You’ll quickly see this “distinction” is neatly side-stepped in any defense of Scientology’s stance on modern medicine.

In other word, STFU lady. If we were all that ignorant, desperate, gullible and naive, we’d join the Church of Scientology.

So wait. CoS always wanted Elvis’ money. He said they were a cult. So he dies and JOHN TRAVOLTA gets his wife and baby girl into Scientology. She is raised as a Scientologist in Clearwater (dangerously), and now when Travolta is under fire, she defends him cause hes the guy that roped them into Scientology.

The King is truly rolling in his grave.

My grandma used to say “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire”!!

Now, the scientoloonies are bombarding the net with all kinds of PR crap, threats to webmasters to “moderate” the post - in other words delete them - and expect us to believe that a science fiction writer who worded the phrase “if I want to get rich, I’ll start a religion” has indeed comeup with a religion which is the answer to everything. Riiiight!!!

Of course people can talk **** as much as they want, about whoever the **** they want, but does that mean it’s OK, especially in this situation? **** NO! Leave this family alone, they just lost a son, you piece of **** conspiracy theorist need to stop with the bullshit. It’s not their obligation to tell you what their son’s disorder is, it’s also likely that they understood that being Scientelogist and talking about autism would bring about controversy, so they probably decided it was best for them not to be spokespersons for autism. Or who knows… maybe because of the whole Tom Cruise controversy in 2005, maybe that whole incident ended up becoming a reason for them never talking about their son, because they understood that their personal choice of religion would allow the media to shift the attention to it, instead of the autism of the kid. But as I see it, they made the right choice by not invading their sons privacy, by feeding the media about him, after all, in this time, the media is so goddamn hungry for stories, they fabricate so much.

Scientology is NOT a religion! This is just a talking point that their PR people use to cover up the fact that:

- Scientology is BANNED in Greece

- Scientology is considered to be “against the constitution” in Germany, and is being watched by the government there.

This is not some benign belief system. This is a racketeering cult that is being recognised as such in other countries around the world. No matter what the PR guys say, there’s a lot more going on here than just some sci-fi text!

I like Lisa Marie but she needs to shut her trap as well as all the other Scientologist. They’re just making it worse by saying that their beliefs aren’t the issue. It is the issue! John and Kelly decided to join the church. They made their decision to ignore their childs health because of their beliefs and now its something that they’ll have to life with for the rest of their lives.

I guess all of this is easy for her to say — her children are still alive. Often it takes a tragedy to bring folks to their senses. If Jett Travolta was autistic and denied proper treatment because of cult beliefs, what a shame. If that lack of treatment played a part in his death, that’s criminal.

People have the right to express their opinion, like it or not Lisa.
Scientology is bad news as is does not recognise psychiatric care, mental illness and denies people medication for them.

Jett Travolta was rumored to suffer from Autism which in adolescence can lead to seizures which was in the original account from JT and KP’s lawyer. Kawazaki’s Syndrome does rarely re-occur in a child after the age of 5.

As I recall, Scientology did themselves try to capitalise on a murder by an autistic boy a couple of years ago. They went around protesting against “psych drugs” before the victim was even in the ground.
Now, that if anything, is in poor taste. We are simply questioning why Jett was left alone for 10 hours while he had a history of violent seizures? Why didn’t anyone check on him? Never mind the drugs, why didn’t anyone go look for him for _TEN_ hours? Sack those nannies pronto, I say.

Why, oh whyaretheydead.net?

Talk about your inappropriate comments? Here’s John Travolta shilling for the cult upon the death of Anna Nicole Smith:

““It’s so sad,” Travolta said while in promoting his latest flick, “Wild Hogs.” “We could have helped her with Narconon but didn’t get a chance to. I wish we had.”

John Lightfield @ 01/06/2009 at 7:06 pm

Let’s go to Big Blue in LA. and down to Clearwater and ask the average scientologist when was the last time they were to a doctor, dentist or optometrist.

AND, in the end, it wasn’t LRON Hubbard or any space alien that John Travolta cried out to…(Lron claimed Jesus was an alien implant, but perhaps JT, who was raised by a devout Catholic mother, hasn’t forgotten his upbringing all together….)

“Lightbourn said he then heard Travolta, who had tried to revive his son with CPR, cry out, “God, please help me!”

http://www.nypost.com/seven/01062009/news/nationalnews/im_sorry__jett_147447.htm

That beautiful child is dead, a clearly loving father has lost a child, all because of an evil cult that records your confessions and threatens to use them against you if you dare to leave.

Terreyo, I remember John Travolting trying to capitalize on the death of Anna Nicole Smith by claiming to the press that “they” could have helped her. What a strange twist of fate that this should occur in the Bahamas. And now we are only left to wonder…who could have helped Jett?

Not Scientology, we know that much.

What did L. Ron Hubbard Jr. have to say about his own father?

http://www.nypost.com/seven/01062009/news/nationalnews/im_sorry__jett_147447.htm

Read the whole interview, his own son didn’t even buy his crap!

“L. Ron Hubbard, Jr., is a survivor. His appearance on earth, May 7, 1934, was the result of failed abortion rituals by his father, and Ron, after only six and a half months in the womb and at 2.2 pounds entered the world. His mother, Margeret (”Polly”) Grubb, was to have one more child, Catherine May, before her husband ditched her in 1946 to enter into a bigamous marnage with Sarah Northrup. A half sister, Alexis Valerie, survived that union. Soon after that, the founder of Scientology married Mary Sue Whipp, the current Mrs. L. Ron Hubbard, Sr., who at this writing is serving four years in federal prison for stealing government documents. There were four childrens: Diana and Quentin, who died under mysterious circumstances in 1976; Arthur, who has been missing for several years; and Suzette.”

David miscavige @ 01/06/2009 at 7:20 pm

It is really sad that Scientology may have helped to kill Jett. Had he gotten treatment (And not the “purification rundown” that scientology prescribes), he may very well still be alive. It’s very sad indeed.

Doesn’t anyone remember John Travolta running to the media to say how Scientology could have helped Anna Nicole Smith? You know, after she died and people were grieving?

Why on earth is anyone listening to Lisa Marie Presley

Steve hassan @ 01/06/2009 at 7:42 pm

People smart enough to hold two thoughts in their head simultaneously can easily have compassion for the loving-but-misguided Travolta family as well as concerns about how Scientology quackery may have contributed to Jett’s suffering and ultimate death. Critics of the cult, instead of advocating guilt-tripping the Travoltas, are aware of how the cult itself might do so (”You pulled this in!” is Scienospeak).

“Unconstitutional,” Lisa Marie? Was that an ignorant attempt to say “unconscionable,” a simple slip-up, or have you actually been drilled to believe that criticizing Hubbard is a federal crime?

sandra m. @ 01/06/2009 at 7:51 pm

I don’t see free speech as an attack on the Travolta’s.

There have been some valid questions raised as to whether Scientology discourages the use of medications for seizures, possibly because some anti-convulsants are also used for psychiatric conditions. Also, there is some research that indicates prolonged seizures without treatment may contribute to autism.

Google first amendment

Mark Cabian @ 01/06/2009 at 7:51 pm

What Ms. Presley is neglecting to mention is that scientolgists consider any neurological problem to be psychosamatic. In other words, if Jett had autism (and it looks very likely that he did) it would be something he or the parents pulled in. In other words, it would be their fault for something they did, or for not following the tech close enough. So what’s the simple solution? Pretend your kid does NOT have autism and don’t treat him for such.

It’s not a definite that the Travolta’s neglected their child’s needs, but it’s very common for conditions such as this in scientology. And you aren’t allowed to have your own interpretation of the tech, you only have L.Ron’s. Anything else is called ’squirreling the tech’ and is a scientology sin. So it’s very likely that Jett’s needs were not met to the fullest extent they could have, and if asking questions about this poor, unfortunate boy’s death prevents the death and/or mistreatment of others, than so be it.

Death of a child. Worse nightmare ever. Death of child plus blame of death of the child…beyond words. LEAVE the TRAVOLTA’S alone. Let them grieve in peace. No matter what you believe if you don’t believe in common sense humanity then you need to prepare yourselves for the same horrible treatment when your tragedy occurs. I may not know you, but those people around you do and they will recall your callus words/behavior and it will come back around. IT always comes back around. Karma is a friend or a foe. Watch your words and thoughts!

makes me wonder if they asked all the famous members of this cult to say something to cover their a55

Lisa Marie Presley: Free Speech unconstitutional.

Yes, Jett’s death is horrible and still is. That does not mean that we cannot seek justice for him and expose the truth on how he really died while Scientology spins his death in order to keep their public, yet failing, record.

Justice for Jett and his family!

Shame on Lisa for making a mockery of her great father!

Lednir Unos @ 01/06/2009 at 8:01 pm

I think the problem here is a discrepancy between the fact that people are told to respect the families of those that have died, and people’s need to prevent others dying.
Certainly, it would be a problem if there was unlikely to be a connection between the death and the group, however the fact that Jett died from a seizure, the cause of which (according to reports) was being treated and then suddenly completely withdrawn, leading to frequent, potentially fatal seizures. The withdrawing of all treatments (not just changing to another drug) is completely illogical, and I cannot think it could have been instigated by anything less than belief that it was dangerous. This is very much what the scientology organisation preaches, and it seems then that there is a link between scientology and the death of Jett Travolta.
I don’t think the Travoltas would have withdrawn treatment if they knew something like this might happen. As such, the blame should lie with Scientology for feeding false information that lead to the neglect, which may have caused the seizure; either way, the withdrawing of drug treatment was a potential danger, one that is likely to be the same for many with psychological conditions under scientology’s sway.
The problem is that, left unaddressed, many other children and adults may suffer or die; if a high profile case can produce the publicity to instigate some sort of necessary procedure for those prevented from seeking treatment by others (Scientologists’, “Christian scientists’” and Jehovah’s witnesses’ children) then it should be used, it is unfortunate that it has to be as a result of the grief of the Travoltas, but if it results in some good, it should be taken.
On a side note, if I remember correctly Scientology preaches that all other religions are as a result of “implants”, thus it is likely, even necessary, that a scientologist would also be an “atheist” (I’m looking at you, Mr. Pink). Note that being an atheist does not automatically make you an expert on science either, and your lack of a relative dislike for scientology is most probably as a result of poor education about its practices and preachings.

If this is too long: a summary - Jett’s death has generated the publicity necessary to really address the dangerous anti-psychotropic teachings of scientology. It’s very sad, but it may help to do good in the future, and we should be concerned about that as much as the present.

I am very impressed with LMP writing, very good job, obviously a true friend. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Our prayers are with Jett Travolta’s family. May they be strong, and may our love help them bear the unbearable.

This has nothing to do with the Travoltas. But I just find it funny that a so called church has “celebrity” centers?! That tells you the celebs members get treated way better than the normal everyday member.

http://www.whyaretheydead.net

Jett isn’t the first and he won’t be the last to be denied medication and suffer due to $cientology anti-medical establishment teachings.

Lisa Marie Presley is nothing but a pathetic shill for Scientology and like a good little lapdog is yapping in her master’s defence.

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa, you’re glib!

The fact is that the medication Jett was once taking is also used as a psychiatric med and you scientologists are against any psychiatric meds because you want people to turn to your “religion” instead. All kinds of photos on the net of you and Kelly Preston protesting along with other scientology celebrities against psychiatry as proof - what about free speech now Lisa?.

Scientology doesn’t work - its a scam! Your precious “tech” (scientology teachings) doesn’t work for anyone - period. Further, one has only to look at the website whyaretheydead(dot)net to read about many scientologists who were diagnosed with cancer yet died because your cult told them to stay away from doctors and that they could cure them through “auditing” (they make you hold two metal cans in your hand and divulge all your secrets - does this sound like a sane way to battle cancer? Any takers? And they have the nerve to charge people heavily for this scam). If this worked Lisa don’t you think that medical communities all over the world would embrace it? Scientology has been sued because of this farce and have had to settle up these cases time and time again and they certainly don’t want to make these cases public. Stop LYING to the public Lisa - shame on you!

Of course I feel badly for John and Kelly. I’m very sorry that they joined the cult of scientology and decided to listen to the ramblings of a bad science fiction writer who decided that it was more profitable to start a “religion” rather than to follow tried and tested medical advice - even if that meant keeping your son on a medication that is considered psychotropic. There were other meds that they could have used! Poor Jett didn’t stand a chance being born into a family of scientologists. BTW Lisa, why is the son of these two OT’s dead? What did they do to pull this in? Bet the cult is going to charge them big bucks to find out!

Its too late now for the cult of scientology. More and more people are finding out the truth about scientology - they are a dangerous, money making, criminally convicted UFO cult and should be stopped now before yet another person ends up dead.

Wow, I didn’t expect that from her. Wonderfully said. RIP Jett Travolta.

hamburgerMJAMmjam @ 01/06/2009 at 8:56 pm

Elvis Presley sucked. Jerry Lee Lewis is the true king of Rock’n'Roll.

Unfortunately, I have first hand experience with NARCONON because a family member was there for 3 months. A distant realative set up the rehav intervention, and the parents were just thrilled that he was able to get their son to go somewhere–anywhere. They were also so overjoyed that they didn’t take a look at the facility “affiliation”.

The young man who rehabbed there was on upwards of 60 vitamins a day and spent 6 hours in a sauna EVERY day. Besides that, according to correspondence from the young man, it was “coursework” in the beliefs of Scieneffintology.

When the young man returned home to his parents, 3 months later, he talkd incessantly about how no matter how hard they had tried, his belief system was already in place. He returned to drinking almost immediately. VITAMINS are not going to treat alcoholism, sorry for that BIG news alert. Screw scientology and the emotionally bankrupt followers who toss their money to that cult.

once in and again..... @ 01/06/2009 at 9:26 pm

Wow, that was pointless! All she did was stir the pot even more. She just had to get all her little digs in there too. Her discreet put-downs. Once again, FLUNK! She thinks of herself as an “opinon leader.” That’s Scientology speak for famous people. They actually call her that. But she accuses people of taking this as an opportunity to hate on her beliefs but she at the same time is doing that same very thing. Maybe it comes across as socially unacceptable but somebody has to ask these impolite questions right now. It could mean the difference between life or death.

Anonymous @ 01/06/2009 at 9:35 pm

She is an awful writer. She needs to learn the difference between plural and possessive. What an idiot. Did LMP even finish high school?

I must commend Lisa Marie Presley on a beautifully written….eloquent…post on her website.
However I was surprised at it. Everytime I have seen her speak in interviews or read her interviews…I always have thought that one thing she is NOT….is eloquent. In fact I have always found her to be rather course and rough….not just in her language but in her delivery as well.
So this beautiful, heartfelt post didn’t really ring true with me. I do believe the sentiment re the Tarvolta family. But the rest…someone else has written this for her….maybe a fellow Scientologist who is clearly going for the “pulling at heartstrings” angle.
This is NOT vintage Lisa Marie.

groundcontrol @ 01/06/2009 at 9:48 pm

The scientologists have been all over the internet trying to shut down discussions about Jett Travolta’s death. Their damage control is on full spin control.

The fake posters are pretending they are not scientologists but how do you explain anyone with half a brain objecting to a proper investigation and examination into the sudden death of a vulnerable child who by all accounts - including those of his own parents - was denied proper treatment for his condition?

The conduct of the Travoltas during Jett’s life screams that they were tools of scientology in regards to the proper care of their son. Kelly Preston’s laughable “campaign” against cleaning fluids is just one example. Their use of a smokescreen of Kawasaki disorder is another.

It looks like they may have deviated from the straitjacket demands of scientology briefly IF it is true that they had Jett on anti-seizure meds for a brief period of time. But it appears they acquiesced to the scientology teaching that mental disorders of any kind cannot be treated with meds or conventional therapies. You do not take a child off anti-seizure meds if he is still experiencing seizures. There are numerous anti-seizure drugs to move on to that are available to control or minimize seizures.

The problem is that the scientology organization has made an art of lying and deception. Why would anyone believe anything they or their representatives say, including Lisa Marie Presley?

The time to investigate the possibility of neglect in the lifelong care and death of Jett Travolta is NOW. Those of you who want to bury your head in the sand of platitudes can do so but for the sake of Jett and other vulnerable children and adults who may suffer a similar fate Jett’s sudden death MUST BE INVESTIGATED NOW.

I just knew they would cremate the body before they reentered United States soil. If there had been negligence or criminal behavior in providing or withholding proper care and treatment to Jett during his life the acts would have been done in the United States. The cremation however does not mean that an investigation cannot be done.

I also notice that some of the websites are beginning to omit coverage. I suspect that the scientologists are all over them threatening law suits and their destruction. Typical Tom Cruise behavior. I say bring it on. Law suits would open the floodgates for an investigation into scientology practices. Perhaps Jett Travolta will accomplish in death what he could not in life.

it’s just selling points, why bother?

It is refreshing to have new mother Lisa Marie Presley come out to castigate some of the ruthless media and a smaller percentage of ignorant bloggers. It is time for the destructive gossip to stop regarding this young man’s death and any suggestion that his devoted parents didn’t do everything within their power to love and support their son in every possible way which includes the best physical care.

We are evolving into spiritual mind and away from fundamentalist and/or religious dogma. Before criticizing a faith, make certain you have studied it and know what you are judging instead of soundbites given in the 24/7 news. Christian Science, Church of Religious Science, or Unity are NOT cults but are based on advanced principles of mind which align themselves to the type of miracles created by Yeshua ben Joseph in the Bible (PEACE, love, compassion, and prosperity). Each of these churches and, especially, the first three have overlapping principles and/or approaches with the three founders of each having splintered off from one original group. I do not know much about the Church of Scientology but do not feel through observation it is NOT a cult and do not feel the intelligent people it attracts would ever do anything to harm their children by not choosing wisely.

Mara, since you admit to knowing little about Scientology, maybe you should research Scientology rather than judge by your feelings. The posters I’ve seen blogging on the subject have at least done a bit of research, giving them something to base their opinons on.

Just a question…..if the Travolta family were fanatical about keeping Jett’s environments clean and non-toxic etc….then why would they live in a place where private jets (including their own) come and go daily?
Surely all the jet fumes floating around could not have been good for Jett?

* VICTORIA * @ 01/06/2009 at 11:28 pm

” RIGHT, ” BETHANNE “….I just read on another site, that Kelly Preston had all carpet ripped out of the homes they owned, because it has been shown ( scientific studies ), that industrialized carpet cleaners, had been shown to cause Kawasaki Syndrome, and that other reports by the C.D.C., have linked the environment and other household toxins to the rise of Autism…..
It is NOT the time to slam or judge Scientology, BUT, as I’m writing this, Entertainment Tonight said Jett’s memorial service is to be held on Thursday in Florida, near their home…” A Scientology service, where his ashes and a picture will be on display “…And that ” scientology members believe that your soul and spirit never dies, and that it goes on to live in another ” soul and body “…….That ” your physical body is no longer of consequence “…..
Obviously, I do NOT agree ), BUT, if that is what gets them through this nightmare, then who am I to judge them?…….The coronor in the Bahama’s said that ” Mrs. Preston did not want her son to be embalmed”….She was extremely distraught, he said, and could ” not bear that process “…A coronor said if you don’t embalm, you HAVE to be cremated within 24 hours of an autopsy, especially if you are leaving the Bahama’s to go back into another country…… Also, on the same show, plus on TMZ, a nanny said John’s last word’s to his son while crying and holding him, were, ” I’m sorry “…( he tried CPR, and could not bring him back )…….The same show also said John identified his son’s body at the morgue through a glass window…..
John flew the family home today ( with Jett’s ashes ) in his own private plane…( the pictures were heartbreaking )……
I do NOT understand Ron Hubbard’s view on anything, ” NUMBER # 93 “…Hubbard was an ” implant ” of SOMETHING, BUT, he was not the ” wise and good and great leader, he has been made out to be”….A science fiction writer?…..LOL…LOL…. He wrote and produced and constructed the biggest fraud, any industry has ever seen….and became rich ( with his co-conspirator’s ), in the process…….AND, talented, supposedly smart people ( celebrities ) followed his fiction beliefs……It is almost laughable, if not so sad…….. REST IN PEACE SWEET JETT….YOU ARE IN GOD’S ARMS NOW…..

The key phrase here is “I do not know much about the Church of Scientology.” If you did, you would swiftly change your opinion. They are one of the most evil groups I have ever encountered. They need to be stopped. And this is the perfect time to do it, because right now all eyes are on them and their lies are showing through.

……………..two of my very good friends?
I’m sure PINOKKIO WAS HERE, folks!!

My god. The arm of the scientologist org is incredible. There is NO way that these posts here attacking the proper investigation into a suspect death of a vulnerable child are anything except spin control.

Scientology is a racket. It was created as a way to avoid taxes by a bad science fiction writer. Anyone who doesn’t understand that has either not read independent sources about it or they are terminally stupid.

Good for Nicole Kidman for escaping its clutches. Now if only she could rescue her children.

WHEN WILL scientology die? @ 01/07/2009 at 4:23 am

Scientology celebrity centers?? Sounds like a ponzi scheme in the works……. Lisa Marie, Cruise etc are probably all getting a cut……

hmmm, not sure about Lisa’s blog. Sometimes silence is your best weapon. Why defend? I’m still thinking that cremating a child is weird, anyone else?
I think they took care of Jett as best they could. But I’m not at all sure they should have taken him off Depakote because THEY felt it wasn’t working.
Seizures are not deadly always, but Jett had serious medical issues if he needed a baby monitor in his room at all times. Still, losing a child is a horrible nightmare. And it was very apparent that John especially adored Jett.

Optimisticate @ 01/07/2009 at 7:58 am

Her scilon spin on actual facts is quite amusing, but why does she call criticism “unconstitutional injustice”? What exactly is unconstitutional about FREE SPEECH?

this was beautiful written and so heartfelt…i hope the ridiculous tabloid magazines take note…losing your child is not a joke nor is it something to be scandalised!

So it is not suspicious that after Tom Cruise said “psych/brain drugs are bad mkay” on tv that Travolta’s kid dies after being taken off his seizure medication? So it is not at all suspicious that they CREMATED his body less than 24 hours after the favorable autopsy result? It’s not suspicious that Jeff the scientology Nanny was supposed to be with the kid at all times yet Jett lay on the floor, undiscovered for the best part of 12 hours? I’d say that people are responsible for that child’s death and those people are part of Scientology. This is why the pressure must be maintained on scientology and a neglect investigation begun into his parents.

INVESTIGATE SCIENTOLOGY NOW @ 01/07/2009 at 9:42 am

I
Scientology is now in massive pr spin.
Tom Cruise puff pieces about his dyslexia and how he fears for his personal safety are plastered next to John and Jett’s photo on websites and in newspapers and magazines.
I
This is absolutely BLATANT cult damage control.
And this little ‘personal’ piece from Lisa can be put down to the same organized effort.
I
Scientology is a well organized SCAM
It thrives on secrecy - they are trying to shut down all negative interest so that people don’t become too well informed on how they draw people in.
I

Don’t be fooled - Truth is stranger than fiction and once you start delving into how bizarre and malicious this cult is you will truly wonder how they get away with it.

I am very concerned about our society and how we openly accept sitting behind our computers and leave our morals at the door.
We condem and critic a situation and another human being with no facts and no knowlege except what drips through the minds of the press.
Wake up people, what we say does cause hurt and pain. We must try morals and compassion or it may be your door the judgement of others may be knocking on next.
What we say creates an energy that is living and breathing. Manifesting into hideous reality shows and judgemental survival shows. Then we wonder why our children take a gun to school and kill their friends…
We must be responsible. Even hidden in the shadows of our computer,, Show compassion.

Mr. Pink: sorry I missed the frenzy here, though given the way you’ve been responding I think it’s fair to say that you’ll still be reading this today.

A nonverbal 16 year old child is one with obvious problems. End of story. Even his parents and doctors can’t ignore that fact, that’s why terms like “chronically ill” get thrown around. But the fact is that the conditions that they blame for this behavior cannot possibly be responsible for it, and so we are left to wonder what the true cause was.

And I would just like to take a moment to stress that I am NOT looking for John and Kelly to make a statement to the press. This is absolutely a devastating time for both of them and I cannot imagine the pain they must be going through. We ask these questions to make others aware of the dangers of Scientology, so that no more need to suffer.

although it’s very badly out of date, it might be of some benefit for folks interested in this issue to take a look at whyaretheydead.net and see how many others have passed away due to the cult’s weird views on medicine. Tommy Davis may say that Scientologists take modern medical advice, but there are a disturbing number of Scientologists who have been told to seek “auditing” (one on one spiritual counseling) rather than medical treatment for cancer.
Do not forget the dead.

oh, and @ 119:

lermanet is not a terribly welcoming site for people hearing for the first time about Scientology. While it is an excellent resource for legal documentation and source materials that back up the claims of critics, it is a bit daunting. whyweprotest.net has an excellent introduction to the issue, and extensive discussion of the Jett Travolta situation on their forums.

Scientology is a very deep rabbit hole, many of us have been studying it for a year now and still only know a fraction of the problems caused by the cult. And, yes, I said cult. The difference between a cult and a religion in my mind has always been that a cult tries to take you away from your family and your money. Scientology has a well documented history of doing both.

In my opinion, Ms Presley’s outburst regarding Scientology/John Travolta and family was definitely uncalled for. Everyone has an opinion, many many people absolutely adore John Travolta and if Scientology is “being slammed,” the way Ms Presley worded it, perhaps it’s out of concern and care.
Typically when a person is defensive, there’s reason to be!!! Ms Presley is entitled to an opinion, but don’t act as if other people are not!

killershoes @ 01/07/2009 at 2:56 pm

Too bad her ‘in constant irritation and distain’ attitude personality takes much significance from the sincerity of kindness and charity towards others speech.

There’s nothing unconstitutional about exercising your First Amendment right to criticize a religion. It might be rude given the timing, but Lisa is far from a constitutional expert if she thinks that the exercise of free speech (a right protected by the Constitution) is unconstitutional.

Lisa, I agree with you 100%. I am a baptist. I am so disgusted with all the hate that I hear on these threads about Scientology. Most of these haters are former members and they seem to be envious of the other members because they themselves did make or belong to the so-called upperlevels of Scientology. I know Scientology has been around at least 20+years these people sound as if they have just learn about Scientology yesterday. They seem to thrive on trying to destroy some star’s careers because they choose to belong this group. I dont know weather it is a religion or not. I would like to hear that explained.

I am a therapist. Depakote is both a psychiatric medication and a medication used to treat seizures. Most medications lose effectiveness over time so changes have to be made. I was suprised that Jett was not placed on another medication if his seizures were that bad. BUT I assume that his parents loved him and did everything in his best interest. HOWEVER, I do recall an interview a few years back in which John Travolta bragged about how he could “heal others” based on his teaching from Scientology. Was he deluded enough to think that he could “heal” his son? With all the things these celebrity Scientologists have said over the years about “healing others”, psych meds being bad, just take vitamins.. YES I am going to ask questions. Who wouldn’t? Only a cult would not allow someone to use their brains to question. Right?

Omg, BOTH of Jett’s caretakers were SCIENTOLOGISTS? I wonder what THEY though about how much attention was required as they watched Jett.

We only want this type of abuse to stop. Of course we are going to speak out about this now. Now is the time when scientology is killing people. If we do not speak out now, more will die.

Jetts blood is on Scientologys hands.

My heart goes out to any parent that suffers the loss of a child, but I don’t agree with LMP’s post. To each his own, if you want to be involved in a cult that is your decision but take care of your children. Why do you think Lisa married Michael Jackson only 20 days, after her divorce from fellow Scientologist? The “Church” , they arranged this marriage as a way of luring Michael Jackson in, of course I’m sure he had his motives as well. When Michael refused, she was back with her EX Scientologist within a month or so. Come on, who ever really believed that was a real marriage anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I am a MJ fan. My prayers are with his family and children. RIP Michael.

I love Lisa Marie…But her Father Elvis was totally on to the CULT..he said “All those idiots want from me is my money!” and would be VERY upset that his beloved daughter was into it!
John and Kelly are now admitting that they LIED and that they knew Jett was Autistic! They chose the cult over their own son! PLEASE! I feel for anybody who loses as precious child, but the Travoltas should be ashamed of themselves! GET OUT of this CULT before it kills someone else you love!
