OlderBrad Pitt Denies Angelina Jolie Affair
Brad Pitt proudly proclaims that his partner Angelina Jolie is NOT a homewrecker. Here’s what the 45-year-old Curious Case of Benjamin Button star had to say in W Magazine’s February A-list issue::
On the public’s misinterpretation of his and Angie’s “affair”:“What people don’t understand is that we filmed [Mr. & Mrs. Smith] for a year. We were still filming after Jen [Aniston] and I split up. Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t. I’m very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful. [The film] will mean something to our kids. It will, that’s all.”
On Aniston’s recent comment that it was “uncool” for Angie to openly state that she and Brad fell in love on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith: “Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all of that Angie versus Jen. It’s so created.”
On his current relationship with Jennifer Aniston: “We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how there cannot be [that]. That’s life, man. That’s life.”
On photographing Angie for W magazine’s November 2008 photo spread: “We have fun working together; these things bring you closer. And let me tell you, it’s really sexy to see your loved one through the lens. I went much further [than the cover shot of Jolie breast-feeding]. I didn’t show those.”
On what motivated his request for photographer Chuck Close, who uses a technique called Daguerrotype that captures every fine line and flaw: “[to not have to be] the guy coming out of the ocean water with his T-shirt wet, even though I’ve done that, too, but have always walked away feeling a little crap about it.”
On how family life has changed him: “I quit smoking. That was the only thing that got me to quit. That was it. Done.”
On gay marriage rights: “People who are against gay marriage do not understand the very freedoms that they themselves are enjoying. What if someone said, ‘Sorry, no Christianity here? No Judaism. Certainly no Mormons.’ No one would stand for that, and I wouldn’t allow anyone to say that either. I’d fight them in the same way.”

How many times has Brad Pitt said he loved MR and mrs smith because a it changed his life and two because he fell in love? He said all that way before Angie did but the media ignores him. he can’t even defend Angie by saying the media likes to take everything she says and spin as if it was somehow meant for his ex? Brad is pathetic.

No matter what the reasoning was for this pair, brad and angie, to get together , it’s obviously been poison to the both of them. It’s like walking into a pile of dog chyt, nothing you do can scrape it off you. The more angie and brad say about their take on events four years ago, the worse it comes out. ( i.e. angie: we were supposed to wear a flesh colored body suit for the love scene in bed, but i chose to do the scene totally naked). I honestly feel sorry for all three involved years ago in that love triangle, as it seems none of them will ever be allowed by the public to move on with life and living as long as one or two of them keep bringing up facts of occurances during that time. Brad sure speaks his mind about his current love Angelina, life, kids and even Jen in a positive light which is great to see. He’s putting a stop to the triangle once and for all by saying there’s absolutely no war between them. He’s with Angelina and has let the world know his love and passion for her. When you are that happily in love you don’t hold hate in your heart for others and be bitter on what they are saying or doing because you are happy in your current state. Brad Pitt is not only protecting his love Angelina but also his x and I think that’s great, it shows he’s a better man. I know many Jen fans love to see a bitter nasty fight but really there’s not one, it’s all played by the media and it sells.

Look people, regardless of what went on there are a few things that are certain.
Brad & Angie met while filming Mr & Mrs Smith - so the fact of the matter is that YES someday this will be an important movie for their kids because they will get to see how their parents met and ultimately it is how their family came to be together.
Just because they met and fell in love while filming that movie doesn’t mean that anyone did anything wrong. Brad - Jen or Angie. Stuff just happens in life and even if feelings did develop it doesn’t mean they acted on them. No one knows for sure and its no ones business to speculate otherwise.
Obviously Jen & Brad’s marriage was on the rocks while this movie was being filmed. It is well documented out on the web the timeline of their demise and the fact that they were moving in two separate directions. He made no bones about the fact that he wanted to settle down, family and having children were a huge part of that.
Once Friends ended all Jen wanted to do is focus on her career and there is no crime in that. But it was obvious that kids were never an immediate priority to her, otherwise she would have had them with Brad. In knowing that he wanted children so badly, if she wanted to stay with him then she would have done that for him. Women work/act and have kids all the time - the fact that she didn’t have them when she knew her husband was desperate to start a family speaks volumes.
He wasn’t getting any younger, she wasn’t changing her mind about having kids and they decided it was best to part ways. Again - it doesn’t mean that ANYONE did anything wrong in the matter. They just grew apart and for all intensive purposes splitted amicably after a New Year’s get away in 2005. If Brad was drawn to Angie and ultimately wound up with her, it wouldn’t have happened if he was a happily married man. The way I look at it they somehow must have been meant to be together. She was always the wildchild who never settled down and he wanted to settle down, they balanced each other out. She made his dreams come true of a family and he grounded her and gave her security that she probably didn’t have for a long time.
So haters have at it - I know that my statements won’t stop you but I just had to speak my two cents for all of us who have been here on Jared’s site from the very beginning. I hardly comment any more because it seems so many of us “old timers” are not around any longer, but I’m they are still here lurking and enjoying our news of Brad and his family.
Lines, wrinkles and all - I’ll take him any way he comes. Benjamin Button was amazing - I can’t wait to see if he gets an Oscar nomination. His performance was mesmorizing - he so deserves it. It would be wonderful to see him up there thanking his family.

I haven’t gone to see Benjamin Button, but people I’ve spoken to who have viewed it told me it was overhyped and not nearly as good as the award nominations thus far. I’ve been told the effects are spectacular on Brad, but that the story is lacking. I think Ebert gave it 2 1/2 out of 4 stars and commented that he just didn’t care about the characters enough to fall in love with it. I think it may well be one of those overhyped films that goes thru the award season with nomination after nomination and people look back afterwards and wonder why.
As for Changeling, I also did not view it, but the scenes I saw reminded me of Girl, Interrupted- ex: Angelina ending up in a mental institution. I think the Academy pretty much avoids giving you an Oscar for the same performance twice. I have heard Eastwood’s Gran Turino is a far superior film and is much more deserving of the Ocar nods.
I think Benjamin will receive Oscar nods, but I think Changeling will fade out by the nomination time.
I’m amazed that people care this much about what goes down between these 3 people. Jeez! Why are you all such suckers for the media hype? Who cares what Angie said? Who cares what Jen said? Who cares how Brad’s trying to smooth it all over? Don’t you know it’s the magazines that are getting rich off this crap? As for smoking people start and stop may be he had stopped when he did interview . Why is it fine for Angie to talk about” I love Billy Bob ” but Brad can’t care for Jennifer. As for their movies theybe been nominated for Golden Globes, Critics Choice, Producer Guild ,Bafta, Sag and Angie is the most powerful and highest paid actresss in Hollywood per Hollywood Reporter. Her movies made 1 billlion+ dollars in 2008. So I wouldn’t worry about their careers.

To Ohh God, first of all the difference between Brad talking and Jen talking is this:
Brad doesn’t diss Jen or her life, instead he praises her
Jen has several times, bashing on Angelina even though she claimed an affair didn’t happen, the marriage wasn’t good and has also talked about their children in a negative light. There was no affiar and still to this day she’s rode the pity train with her little comments that make it appear they are still at war.
Brad Pitt is a lying fool just like his live-in who betrayed another woman simply to have her sexual needs met by that woman’s husband. She pretends to be a saint as she adopts and bears children from her emaciated body out of guilt. One day he’ll do something that causes her to snap, the charade will come to a screeching halt, and AJ will leave him saddled with the responsibility of all those kids while she rides off into the sunset with another woman. What goes around comes around, Brad Pitt!
He needs to muffle AJ so as to curtail this stream of nonsense coming after he and she sit down for interviews. Jennifer has every right to defend the relationship she (thought) she had for seven or more years before the vamp put the spell on her husband and, hopefully, she will find a better partner who deserves her trust and commitment.

You are dead on the money! This is a brilliant post. As much as I’d LOVE to see Brad smack down X…in the end it would be turned against Angie and SHE would suffer the backlash. He really can’t make it anymore clear - he didn’t cheat. He said in Rolling Stone that Angie was one of the most honorable people he’d ever met. THAT should have been a clue to people that she was telling the truth when she said she couldn’t live with herself if she slept with a married man (as in a committed marriage, not a separation!) after what happened to her mother. Once again…it comes down to people simply refusing to believe that HW actors can not only have ethics, but actually live by them.
