OlderBrad Pitt Denies Angelina Jolie Affair
Brad Pitt proudly proclaims that his partner Angelina Jolie is NOT a homewrecker. Here’s what the 45-year-old Curious Case of Benjamin Button star had to say in W Magazine’s February A-list issue::
On the public’s misinterpretation of his and Angie’s “affair”:“What people don’t understand is that we filmed [Mr. & Mrs. Smith] for a year. We were still filming after Jen [Aniston] and I split up. Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t. I’m very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful. [The film] will mean something to our kids. It will, that’s all.”
On Aniston’s recent comment that it was “uncool” for Angie to openly state that she and Brad fell in love on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith: “Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all of that Angie versus Jen. It’s so created.”
On his current relationship with Jennifer Aniston: “We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how there cannot be [that]. That’s life, man. That’s life.”
On photographing Angie for W magazine’s November 2008 photo spread: “We have fun working together; these things bring you closer. And let me tell you, it’s really sexy to see your loved one through the lens. I went much further [than the cover shot of Jolie breast-feeding]. I didn’t show those.”
On what motivated his request for photographer Chuck Close, who uses a technique called Daguerrotype that captures every fine line and flaw: “[to not have to be] the guy coming out of the ocean water with his T-shirt wet, even though I’ve done that, too, but have always walked away feeling a little crap about it.”
On how family life has changed him: “I quit smoking. That was the only thing that got me to quit. That was it. Done.”
On gay marriage rights: “People who are against gay marriage do not understand the very freedoms that they themselves are enjoying. What if someone said, ‘Sorry, no Christianity here? No Judaism. Certainly no Mormons.’ No one would stand for that, and I wouldn’t allow anyone to say that either. I’d fight them in the same way.”

i guess, I have no clue and really don’t care. But I’ll give a try and say they spent the Xmas and New year in LA and then Angie flew off for some r & R . She really got to get her shiiiit together after the number Aniston, CAA,and Brad pulled on her.

But I dont get why people are so upset, most of the other sites are positive towards this statement. Val, this is what I don’t get about some of you people. It’s like you’re 12. Waah, waah, waah - what did you want Brad to do, if he had b*tch-smacked her into next week that would have been awful - it’s not Brad’s way…wah, wah Uh, there ARE such things as shades of gray…and guess what?? He didn’t even have to mention Aniston, or what she said by name. He could have asserted what he did about the ‘fell in love,’ comment and given the timeline we’ve all known about forever - and then LEFT IT AT THAT. not impressed, not impressed by pointless point. get the facts straight. she signed the papers and he was off shooting his W spread with his new spread. Break up stared filming that summer, papers were signed in March.
One last thing. Angelina has been enjoying her downtime. So the air has been taken up by Aniston’s whining. When the new president and congress start work Angelina will be there and at the CFR. She probably will travel for the UN. Frankly I thought 2005 was the worst time for Angelina. She had to deal with magzines calling her crazy, disliking Shiloh and being a homewrecker. But she came out of that like a beautiful diamond. More poweful and much more respect for her talent as an actress. Aniston words don’t change that. Brad calling Aniston “sweetheart” doesn’t that.

Alice, I like good discussions. I especially like smart people who can talk me out of my funk, and more importantly present a good argument, as you have. This is the best I’ve heard yet - sometimes I do have to be reminded of previous and recent statements Brad has made, because the tabloid/gossip blog/entertainment show cycleis so overwhelming and has such a short memory that I get bogged down with what people are saying this very minute.

I will try to take your comments into account, and for now, I will choose to see Brad’s actions as being dismissive of the whole issue (pre GQ). I will also hope that rather than hurt Angelina, this helps her and makes some people want to rally for her.

If the reviews Aniston got in her promo dog movie and desperate publicity tour were anything to go on, people had had enough of her whining and desperate antics, people had also caught on to her PR’s machinations to find her a man, any man, to squire around with as she promoted her sh*t.

So hopefully the tptb are tired of her (as that list suggests) and want her to go away, sooner rather than later.

Hopefully Angelina’s dignity throughout, will have a positive impact on how she’s viewed, as she’s a class act, and not being dragged into Brad’s mess.

If anything, another way to look at this - is due to his ex-wife, Brad Pitt, operating at the pinnacle of his career, doing good work, professionally and philanthropically is once again having to entertain and justify his actions BECAUSE OF HER.
