Paul Bettany Talks Wife’s Weight Loss

Paul Bettany walks the red carpet at the 20th anniversary of the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala held at the Convention Center on Tuesday (January 6), in Palm Springs, Calif.

The 37-year-old British actor presented the Rising Star Award to his The Secret Life of Bees co-star Dakota Fanning.

Paul also addressed the weight loss rumors about his wife, Jennifer Connelly.

“I will tell you… My wife just lost her father,” he explained to OK!.

I remember her saying on Letterman that he passed in September. I knew why she lost weight right away. I hope she is coping well! She’s an amazing actress but such a lovely woman! :)

Gosh, does he have to spell it out for everyone? They always forget that when some of these female stars have just lost A PARENT, they just MIGHT be growing thinner from grief.

I have heard him described as much more beautiful in person than either on film or in photos.

He and Jennifer are just really good people who happen to be beautiful. I remember Jennifer wanting to fix up her divorced dad with her Sand & Fog costar Shorah Agdashlu (sp?) until she met Shorah’s husband. She said she was dashed when she realized she couldn’t have Shorah as a stepmom.

I’m still waiting for Jennifer to produce a daughter. It’s too good a gene pool to waste.
