Here’s a sneak peek of Lindsay Lohan’s February 2009 feature for Interview Magazine. Here’s what the 22-year-old girlfriend of Samantha Ronson said:
On the public’s misconception of her: “I wanted to be a movie star [growing up]. But movie stars are not what they used to be. When I was a kid, I thought movie stars were women and men who were in these great films that we still look at now. But I don’t think there are too many films coming out these days that we’re going to look at in the future and say, ‘This is one of the great ones.’ Like, what is the great film that I will tell my children about? I’m still going to tell them about the old films, the Hitchcock films. And people my age don’t even know who those people are. I can’t even have a conversation with most people of my generation about that, because they’d be like, ‘Okay, she’s a freak. Something’s wrong with her.’ And the worst part is, in terms of what people see of me, I have become this girl who just loves to be photographed, doesn’t know how to focus, doesn’t know how to work on set, just loves the attention, knows how to go out at night, knows how to party.”
On being in Hollywood to act, not to become a celebrity: “I just feel as though it’s become a situation where people have manifested this caricature of who I am, and they act as if there’s no real person inside of it. I mean, people really have come to believe-directors, producers, agents, whoever it may be-that I started in this because I wanted to be a celebrity. But that was never my intention.”
On not getting the same opportunities as other actresses: “But it’s so impossible for me to actually [go someplace where no one knows me]. When I was in Dubai, there was still press lined up around the hotel. So I find it close to impossible to actually do that. I mean, it is what it is. This is what I asked for, and in this day and age that’s what actually goes on. But what hurts me the most is that I work just as hard as any other actress around my age, like Scarlett Johansson, but I just don’t get the opportunities that they get because people are so distracted by the mess that I created in my life. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to last forever.

scarlett johansson can be more hard working and serious but it does not mean she’s talented. i find her very dull and still in every single movie she has been. lindsay’s a much better actress and much, much hotter as well. i hope she can turn things around because at this point no one takes her seriously.

Lindsay is more talented than ScarJo. But she’s still a whiny trainwreck and I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to work with her.
my god she’s disgusting. movies are expensive, noone wants to waste time and money (not to mention nerves) on a spoiled actress with a drug problem. Just like LeeLabella said, there are many other pretty and talented young women out there who are interested in working and not being a diva. As for the roles offered, perhaps she shouldn’t have shot that porn/horror/trash thing i know who killed me. perhaps she should’ve taken the role in the edge of love alongside keira knightley, but oh no, they wanted her off the drugs for that movie so she declined. and why did she surround herself with people who don’t even know about hitchcock? selfabsorbed moron, blaming her image on others to the bitter end. her situation is completely her fault and i don’t have a grain of pity for her in my entire body.
and isn’t it funny, a couple of years ago she was calling scarlett johanson a fat, talentless cow in a bar toilet, and now she’s envious of her career. she may be skinnier and even more talented than scarlett, still (unlike her) she’s a jobless wreck. and why? because she’s a selfabsorbed moron :)

All those perspectives of her she had created, she is not that talented; she had always been an attention seeker, in an interview she mention that she knew she needed the paparazzi to get people to know her, she had a prominent career but she screwed up. And even if she maintain her personal problems to her self, but she took them to the set. To be honest I know her for her scandals not for her movies.
She is a freak, there is something wrong with her.
There are plenty of Hollywood examples of how to live a life removed from the paps - look at Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Keanu Reeves, Susan Sarandon - these people live quiet lives away from the chaos and they still do great work. And they get good jobs.
So for all those nutjobs who claim that they don’t know how to get away from the media - follow some examples for crying out loud and walk the other way. What a narcissistic ******. It’s always everyone else’s fault when her life is falling apart.

So, is she trying to say that people her generation aren’t smart? Did I miss something? Does she feel that because the name “Hitchcock” rolls off her tongue, it means she knows something about good movies and classic movies–more so than the average person her age? Please. How does she know no one her age knows Hitchcock? She’s third or fourth on my list of losers I want to disappear–behind Shitney Smears and Parasite Holton.

She is NOT the victim!! She had it all and threw it away several times. She doesn’t deserve 1000 chances, she did it all herself!
Stop Partyinfg, stop be a tart, eat, be healthy, don’t drink and WORK and when you do it CONSTANT you can have it all back.

I’d feel bad for anyone caught in this mess, #9. Of course it’s her fault for the mess she’s in but that doesn’t exempt her from sympathy and give me the right to judge and wag the finger.
She hasn’t done anything wrong since finishing her rehab stint in late 2007, #10.
She’s not playing the victim and it was only rumored that America Ferrera’s jealousy and not this claim about Lohan’s behavior way why her story arc was shortened, #14. Actually, the producers have all said she cam in on time and was very nice.

Where’s the proof that she’s relapsed, #23? And she just admitted in this article that she screwed herself up.
She left that movie because she had relapsed, #30. She’s not blaming anything on anyone and the average person actually, sadly doesn’t recognize people like Hitchcock and others. It’s not a conscious effort to surround herself with everyday people like that.

I’m not saying Lindsay doesn’t have talent. She was great in Georgia Rule. But she screwed up her own career. It’s her OWN, sole responsibility that nobody takes her seriously anymore. Besides, she can’t escape the paparazzi? Give me a f’cking break. There are actors who are FAR more famous than her whon don’t get photographed all the time. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. But she probably knows that the paps are the only ones who care about her these days.
If she were serious about being taiken seriously, she would shut her mouth and WORK. But no, instead she decides to whine.

Anybody who has read her blog knows she’s only embarrassing herself by comparing with Scarlett Johansson.
Like somebody else said Lindsay is like a Paris Hilton, they have no real talent (or intelligence) but love the attention, instead of doing that dumb Monroe photo-shoot (or the Bryan Adams photoshoot, or this one) she should have gone to some drama school and ask for an opportunity there.
She only complains but does nothing to change.

I get what she’s saying but at the same time she was the one who created that mess for herself…
Um, no. The reason Scarlett gets more and better work is because she’s appeared in “Lost In Translation”, “Match Point”, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”, etc. and Lindsay’s appeared in “Herbie the Love Bug” and “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”. I hope this ***** goes away forEVER.
OMG, I love me some Lindsay in this is quiet sad cause I can tell she’s going through a rough time :( She’s my favorite actress ever. She’s really talented and she got that spark that made us, at least once for some, fall in love with her <3
I don’t feel a bit sorry for her since she is having a major pity party. She is one of the few of the celebutard divas that actually has talent and she has wasted her opportunities because she preferred to drink, take drugs and create a spectacle of herself with men and women. If she truly wanted to be an actress and hone her craft, she would most likely be doing everything possible to be the best she could be. Instead she is still drinking, taking drugs and partying.
So why feel sorry for someone who blows chance after chance because she can’t give up drugs, drink and more.

Looks like too much too soon mixed with a dysfunctional background. Maybe she will get it together. She does have the talent. However, this girl has been given a huge opportunities. She even at one point had a recording contract. So instead of looking in the mirror she wants to put part of the blame somewhere else. The paps do go way too far. But the media like whoever put on the cover on the magazine is just as shallow as she is. She doesn’t know enough to have something interesting to say or read. So I wonder who the people are who pick up the magazine with her on the cover. Teenagers maybe? Anyway, i just don’t understand the fascination with this young woman.
I heart Lindsay, she seems really aware of what her stupid days did to her career but at the same time she doesn’t give up I hope she gets a good role on a good movie so she can show everybody what she has to offer, ohh and BTW she looks STUUUUNING on this photoshoot God the camera really loves her.

I hate Lindsay. She is an awful actress! And what the media says about her is true because they have pictures to prove she is a drunk and just partying all the time. Who wants this firecrotch anyway???
