You’re kidding, aren’t you? Good lord, how old are you?

You’ve heard of Elizabeth Taylor, I hope? Okay, about a bajillion years ago back in the 1950s, Debbie Reynolds was the cute-little-girl-next-door (gag) movie star who was married to a guy named Eddie Fisher. Along comes Elizabeth Taylor, drop-dead gorgeous (google some of her early photos), newly widowed, and starts casting eyes at Eddie Fisher. God knows why; Fisher was no Brad Pitt. Fisher looked like a doofus. But anyhow, the minute Taylor batted her gorgeous violet eyes at Fisher, Fisher dumped poor Debbie Reynolds like a hot potato and ran off with Taylor. He divorced Reynolds, married Taylor almost immediately afterwards, and the marriage broke up inside of two years. They never had any children together (Fisher has one daughter, Carrie Fisher, with Reynolds, and Taylor has two or three children by an earlier marriage.) Taylor went on to marry Richard Burton and Reynolds never remarried, as far as I know. But a few years ago, Taylor, Reynolds and Joan Collins all appeared in a TV movie together and seemed to be on the best of terms.

Your memory is correct. Fisher went out of his way to comfort Taylor after Todd’s death. All too effectively, as it turned out.

Not much like because Eddie’s case, he had already 2 kids with Debbie when he hit on Liz, who was a recent grieving widow (Michael Todd) at the time, he “consoled” Liz, and they got together, I blame him more than Liz, but at the time she was named the one femme fatale, while poor debbie was left alone with kids. I consider her more a realistic “girl next door”, she has had funny movies, she has fought for causes like AIDS a lot, etc.

No need to say that there are lots of people who leave their marriages who could get “hated” like B & A. Bit they get none of this because they do not sell.

Aniston only cares about feeding her prodigious appetite for attention. She couldn’t care less about anybody else, if she did she wouldn’t keep inflicting terrible movies on the movie going public.

Taylor got a lot of bad press when she ran off with Fisher. There was a report in the tabloids that someone told her she shouldn’t have remarried so soon after Mike Todd’s death and she is supposed to have said “What am I supposed to do — sleep alone?” I don’t know if she ever said it, but if she did, it was an idiotic thing to say, considering that everybody and his mother was screaming for her head after Fisher left his wife for her. Anyway, it sure didn’t hurt her career any; she got even bigger movie roles after she dumped Fisher and married Richard Burton.
