Prince Harry Apologizes For ‘Racist’ Remark

The royal family has a history of racism. I am not just talking about his “Nazi” outift in 2005, but the royal family were long time supporters of Hilter and the Klan.

The USA has come along way - electing Barack Obama as the next President. The UK on the other hand has a LONG way to go. Its an extremely racist place and this just goes to show you how racism is not dead at all. The term in question here is just as derogatory as the ‘n’ word. It has the same effect on the people that its directed towards. For those of you who do not think its a big deal, then you are very mistaken. Its hurtful and its just plain ignorant. You would think you could expect more from someone in the royal family and someone whose mother was so compassionate but unfortunately Harry just keeps on showing his lack of intelligence, tolerance and how completely indifferent he is to the world around him.

You people are such hypocrits!! Your bashing him for using racist terms while at the same time making judgement on him based on his family and upbringing. As well as judging people on this forum based on race!! ie stupid white people. Total double standard.

You have to feel for the guy. I’m sure everyone here has made a racial joke at some point in their lives when they were among friends. Not meant to be serious but just as a joke. This guy is no different.

Remember the circumstances it was said under. It was said in private with a group of his friends who were probably all saying the same sorts of things. He may be a member of the royal family but that doesn’t mean he’s still not an average person. Cut away his skin and blah blah blah and you’ll still find the same heart as everyone else, pavlasha. He didn’t act any differently than anyone else would in the same situation.

To Voe….the reason why its a big deal is because of the deep rooted history of racism. Yes, people say bad things about white people but the difference is white people haven’t had centuries of racism against them - black people and others have. I’m not saying that it makes it right to be racist against white people but there is a huge difference between the kinds of racism.
The problem is that someone like Harry who has had as much education as he has shouldn’t be throwing around a term like that at all. Not only does it show how ignorant he is, it also shows how his apology for the Nazi costume was not sincere because here he is yet again, being racist. His handlers and ‘royal spokesmen’ are the ones who are making the apologies - not Harry himself. He should be ashamed of himself.

I don’t know everything that Prince Harry has done or said, but what he said here was incredibly stupid. I don’t know whether he is really a racist or not, but racism is horrible and awful and I wish it didn’t exist.

And I can’t believe some people that say that this is not a big deal. Well, maybe not to you because you’re not offended by it, but what about everyone from countries like Pakistan or India? It’s a big deal to them, and I understand that. I’m not from anywhere near these places, but I find it offensive too! Not to me personally, but just to people in general.

If Harry was really just making a private joke to someone that didn’t mind, then no, this wasn’t a very big deal. But the word “****” is still insulting, and then for people to say THAT is no big deal - well, that’s different.

People can be so stupid that I sometimes don’t know whether to laugh at their ignorance, or cry at their cruelty.

But so many people that are offended do the exact same thing. I mean, a lot of you got upset with Prince Harry for what he said, then starting bad-mouthing ALL white people. THAT was offensive to me.
What he said was really stupid and maybe he is a racist, but that doesn’t make ME, or my family or anybody I know racists as well.

I realise this was offensive to you and I understand that, but please don’t accuse all white people of being racists because of what HE said.
There are racists everywhere, from every corner of the world. White people, black people, Latin Americans, Asians etc. There are racists everywhere, no matter which country of what religion or “colour”.
So don’t blame everyone because of what one person said, because then you’re just as bad as that person.

Racism is rooted in economic parity. If a rich white jokes about a poor white, it’s ok. A rich black can sell poor black into slavery, made a black child kill his mother then a soldier on a war against other black people, it’s ok. A yellow rich can kick a poor yellow then laugh, it’s ok. But God forbid, a different color person can’t do the same. Is it bad? Yes and no. Yes from the angle of human’s decency, but no because it is hypocritical to target one group, even if this group hasn’t experienced much racism.

Education has nothing to do with decency because values are family based first, region second, ethnic or country fourth depending on how big a country is and the make-up of ethnic groups in its population. One simply can not expect the neighbor to share exact value, and can’t demand others to always yield to his/her own value.

By the way, when I said “it’s ok” I meant that to the race addressed in the sentence.

If he was walking down the street calling people this then it would be a big deal. Look at the sitauation he was in. He was in a war/battle sitautation. That is a lot different than your normal day to day business. Look at firmen, policemen, docotors the “black humor” they use. This is the same situation. Military “black humor”. It happens folks get over it. Those who stand up and shout racism all the time are the biggest racist around…
