Heath Ledger Wins Posthumous Golden Globe

At the 2009 Golden Globes on Sunday Heath Ledger won for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight.

The film’s director, Christopher Nolan, accepted the statuette from presenter Demi Moore and said “All of us who worked with Heath accept this with an awful mixture of sadness and incredible pride. After Heath passed on, you saw a hole ripped in the future of cinema — but with the extraordinary response to his work that we’ve seen all over the world, I, for one, start to be able to look a bit less at that gap in the future and a little bit more at the incredible place in the history of cinema that he built for himself with his talent and with his dedication to his artistry. For any of us lucky enough to work with him or to have enjoyed his performance, he will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten.”

“We are overjoyed for him,” his father Kim Ledger told People. “It’s wonderful.”

And by sick I mean mentally obviously he wasn’t 100% stable.

Becky Smith — You don’t know Jake to know what he cares about. People mourn differently. Whether they were on stage or not is irrelevant because they have said how they felt and they were all on stage at the People’s Choice Awards when Christian Bale accepted it, they decided for the director to accept it this time. Heath was amazing in Brokeback Mountain and deserved the award. The author of the book and director couldn’t stop talking about his portrayal, which was superior t Jake’s. The Joker was so much more than wearing make-up, obviously you didn’t see the movie and make such a stupid comment. Heath didn’t care about fame, he cared about making movies. The Joker was more than a clown face comic book character and again Heath was nominated for Brokeback Mountain too. Most of Heath’s movies didn’t bomb at all and he wasn’t interested in big Hollywood Blockbusters. The best movies aren’t always those type. You’re such an *******.

Paula — No, idiot. You can stop changing your user name mentally ill psychopath. He won because his performance deserved too. You really are a moron.

Turkis — No, you’re probably the one who will be burning in hell with more negative qualities than good. You’re the one who is evil to say such things. Just because an article says he has something in his house doesn’t make it so. Articles will say anything about people who can’t defend themselves to sell their newspapers. Nobody is an angel and you are surely not fit to judge on who isn’t one.

I meant superior to **

What’s with the disrespectful comments about the dead? I thought it was a universal moral that we at least refrain from such disrespect. It’s very bad form, and very bad kharma.

Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker. Award shows don’t give posthumous awards that often. Heath deserved this award and trash like Bill are still bitching. Heath was more than a “mediocre dead druggie”. He will always be remembered through his films and nobody losers like Bill will be long forgotten. Heath wasn’t a druggie, either. Get your facts straight, moron.
