OlderSacha Baron Cohen Insults Madonna At Golden Globes
Sacha Baron Cohen made a number of jokes at Sunday’s Golden Globes. The 36-year-old British comedian started off by poking fun at Botox-faced celebrities.
He said, “It’s been a wonderful year for movies, including, of course, Benjamin Button, the story of a man whose face gets younger as he gets older. Uh, which is just like most of the people in this room.” (The camera pans to Button’s star Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.)
After the crowd burst into laughter, he continued, “It is said that in times of economic hardship, people flock to the cinemas to watch mindless puerile, escapist nonsense, which is great news because I’ve got a movie coming out (see below).”
Sacha then proceeded to take jabs at a few celebs: “But this recession is affecting everyone, even celebrities. Victoria Beckham hasn’t eaten for three weeks. Charlie Sheen has been forced to have sex without paying for it. It’s true. And even Madonna has had to get rid of one of her personal assistants. (pauses) Our thoughts go out to you Guy Ritchie.” (Sandra Bullock shakes her head.)
Ouch!!! Sacha then presented the “Best Motion Picture - Musical Or Comedy” Golden Globe to Vicky Cristina Barcelona. In his upcoming movie, Sacha will play his alter ego Bruno, a flamboyantly gay fashion reporter from Austria.

that was a slam on Guy Richie not Madonna…and it was a joke - and a funny one!
I would have liked him to slam dykelina and fugly brad more.
He forgot the increasingly thicker lips and perkier boobs on these aging stars.

I LOVED it best part of the night, and he is actually friends with Madonna and the Beckhams so i’m sure they all laughed about it.

I don’t think it was a joke….jokes are funny…that was just stupid….plain and stupid. I inderstand that “comedians” lack any originality so its ok for them to ridicule people (under the impression they are funny) instead of make actual jokes but don’t expect for people to roll when it’s not funny…and it wasn’t. Peace!
It was the funniest line in otherwise boring show. It was definitely more of a slam on Guy Ritchie than Madonna. Funny, everyone laughed when the jokes were about Charlie Sheen and Victoria Beckham, is GR sacred now? I doubt SBC has anything to worry about, Hollywood goes where the box office money is and, after Borat, that is with Sacha.

Angel, I know he won and I like him. But my point is he didn’t win the Oscar, he won the GOLDEN GLOBE.
It was hilarious. I bet the person who would have found the joke the funniest is guy ritchie. Being a fellow Brit he can appreciate biting humor and sarcasm.

When “Ali G” was big over here, late ’90’s, round the same time as M’s “Music” single, she (youth’n blood suckin’ vampire/ bandwagon-leaping leech that she is) asked him to be in her new video. He said yes, if she in turn agreed to be on his show for all of 5 minutes. She said, Sure I will! You got a deal!
He did her video - she never went on his show.
He never forgot her shite treatment of him. Now he’s in a position of fame - not the little nobody she thought she’d exploit and forget.

It’s good to see someone mock narcistic people who are used to being sucked up to by everyone all the time. Everyone there felt offended because he could have easily been talking about them also.
it’s the day after, i haven’t even seen the rerun, and i can still remember word for word sbc’s presentation. IT WAS THE BEST OF THE NIGHT…aside from tracy morgan, depp, spielberg, and ricky gervais. man. it was good times.
