Kate Winslet looks better than ever in Herve Leger on the February 2009 cover of InStyle. Here’s what the 33-year-old British beauty opened up about:
On not wanting plastic surgery: “I’m a normal human being. I don’t have any desire to change my body as a result of having had two kids. That’s a good thing, isn’t it?” (Oprah told Kate earlier this week: “God bless your real breasts.”
On how Hollywood has changed these past few years: “There is so much access to celebrity that it’s become harder to hold on to any mystery as an actress. The audience can have a fixed idea of you in their head.”
On not wanting to be referred to as a movie star: “I don’t feel like [one] in my life at all, and I don’t particularly think I behave like one. I don’t have my own plane. I don’t have a chef of a trainer. To me, you’re a movie star only during the time when you’re at the Academy Awards or at an important glamorous event. It’s very much a hat that you wear, and as soon as the event’s over, that hat comes off. I’m back to being me and being Mommy, and that’s my priority.”
On not having a natural impulse to pamper herself: “Literally, the one maybe celeb-y thing I do is the occasional facial. That is the only indulgent thing, where I just lie there and relax for an hour. You can’t answer the phone. You can’t get up and make soup. You’ve just got to lie there and have somebody make you feel nice.”

Kate is so cool. I’m so glad she’s living life like everyone else and doesn’t insist on having chefs, trainers, etc. Good for her! :)
Kate is so cool. I love how she doesn’t care about what other people think and how she stays true to herself, as well as being just like everyone else. She rocks!

I hate photoshop! I wouldn’t even know who this was supposed to be if it wasn’t printed by the picture. Photoshop just sucks! It’s so fake.

I like Kate.. Love most of her movies.. But she is playing the game this time around… She wants that Oscar big time. She has never done this much press or Mag. covers. As matter of fact I don’t remember ever seeing her on this many covers during any movie Promo. She barely did any TV shows.. . She once said that she didn’t worry about her body.. that too has changed.. the hair is lighter, the make up better, and the body toned.. Yes Kate is working it big time.. She wants that Oscar and is playing the game needed to get it…

THAT’S WHY HER CHOICE FOR AMERICA, folks!!
I think she looks great but she is being completely disingenuous about her attitude about her looks. She had a major nose job recently and lost a great deal of weight as well as blonded her hair up to be more glamorous and look like a movie star. She REALLY wants an Oscar and she has pulled out all the stops to get it. This cover just another part of the campaign. She knows Hollywood loves to reward the more beautiful actresses when they are young.

I’m not saying there is anything wrong with it but any protest on her part that she isn’t part and parcel of the typical Hollywood mentality rings false. Plus she may not have a plane or the like but she very conveniently left her husband shortly after they had a baby and married up to her very own high profile director husband. Many people would regard that as a much better career move than adopting the lie style of a movie star. In any event neither she nor her husband have reached the ranks of the highest paid yet to even be able to afford that life style.

But that’s a great cover. She looks lovely. I’m not at all happy for the recognition of that awful Reservation Road and its stylized overacting.
God, I feel sad. I feel tired of her now. I guess my fandom is over.

She hasnt had a nose job(are you listeing Jennifer Anniston and Angelina Jolie) she doesnt prance around the world with her children just because she likes to travel and never settle down. She doesnt create an sensationalism about her private life and therefore she is not hounded by the press.
If things keep going well for her she may become the next Meryl Streep of our generation.
Just so happy for her.

#40, she is most certainly photoshopped on this cover. They do it to everybody, and it’s just dumb…it makes her look fake. Compare to the JJ pictures from the Golden Globes. This cover is not all real.
She is a beautiful women. She has played a BIG role for being actress for women all over.

love the dress but the cover is way too photoshoped. kate’s a beautiful and talented actress the way she is already…
she’s so gorgeous i’m so glad she won two awards for her movie well deserved.
I saw her movie, “The Reader.” and I honestly tell you,
that she was very wonderful in it. You feel so lucky to have
seen this movie on the wide screen.
It is the first movie that makes you walk in the shoes
that the Jews may have walked in, on their way to the
death chamber. You feel like you are walking in the same
path, across that same wooden floor. In my own opinion,
it is like all of those years ago, are swept away, and you,
yourself, are taking that last horrible walk. It is so mind
dumbing, and tearful. Your eyes open wide, and your heart
pounds.
PLEASE see this movie. Kate is wonderful.
Only Angelina is better in “The Changeling.”
