Katie Holmes Miu Miu Ad — FIRST LOOK!
Katie Holmes is featured in Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2009 campaign, which shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in New York last November.
The 30-year-old actress rocks out one of Miuccia Prada’s graffiti-spattered day dresses in the ad, which was supposed to depict a “luminous icon radiating a sense of mystery and theatricality.”
UK’s Vogue explains the look was inspired by the films of Italian film director Federico Fellini.

Seeing the photo spread above of Posh, I cannot figure out how Katie Holmes thinks she can get away with such a blatant rip-off attempt of someone’s else look and style. It is SO not her, requires a ridiculous amount of forced effort, nothing like what her style and appearance was before meeting Victoria just a few short years ago, to the point I’m uncomfortable even witnessing it.
It’s like something out of ‘Single White Female’. Just one more bizarre and creepy thing to add to the TomKat list. Katie Holmes must have been such a vapid, mindless blank slate before hooking up with Cruise, with no personality or opinions of her own–and obviously continues to be so.

Not sure either that the campaign with KH will help to sell the Miu Miu Spring 2009 collection. InStyle described it as “challenging”, with dresses layered with a apron (yes, a apron, like the one on Katie) and fabrics with fraying holes, as if moths had munched on them.

I do know that Miuccia is the designer of Miu Miu. I know why the lower lines of the designers are out there–to make money off their original ideas in every way possible. Or you could also say that these lower lines are their attempts to kill fakes from China from making money off their designs.

i have never seen so much photoshopping in one pic in all my life! That looks nothing like the real Katie Holmes. The real Holmes looks horrible, has sallow skin, bags under her eyes….etc. Hell, we have been forced to look at pics of her daily if we come here. Well, here is another example of stunt casting. We saw it first with her presence in All My Sons. The director hired hire because she is married to wacky Tom…he figured he’d get all the tabloid readers to show up for the play.
Now, Miu Miu (Prada’s copycat) has followed the director’s lead and stunt casted her in this ad. Not a smart move for a company that needs good publicity. Sooner or later, these desperate directors and companies will learn that she jinx’s their product.
I wouldn’t be caught dead in Miu Miu knowing that Homely face is representing that company. Must be a scientologist involved too.

Has to agree that its too photoshopped. This sexy, fierce look is just not KH. Sexiness is not Katies Holmes, it just does not suit her, she is too big and bulky. The classic elegance look which she did with NYTimes Style was much better although that was heavily photoshopped too. She is not consistent with her style image, what exactly does she want to be? Is she still experimenting with different types of styles?
I love that Katie tries different things, however, she is too uncomfortable or awkward with her body to do modeling. She always slouching and even here she looks distracted and fake. Maybe she should take mime or dance. Just a thought.

If you look at it from a fashion view, this is a great AD. The dress is simply elegent and very miu miu, suits Katie and the eye make up might be over the top but the overall look needed something over the top.
If you look at it from a different point I don understand why many might not like it, its too dark, too much make up.
Its good to see Katie starting to do fashion AD’s. I will admitt that after marrying Tom, her fashion sense has improved big time and I am always eager to see what she will wear next. It was about time she started in fashion AD’s
