Katie Holmes Miu Miu Ad — FIRST LOOK!
Katie Holmes is featured in Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2009 campaign, which shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in New York last November.
The 30-year-old actress rocks out one of Miuccia Prada’s graffiti-spattered day dresses in the ad, which was supposed to depict a “luminous icon radiating a sense of mystery and theatricality.”
UK’s Vogue explains the look was inspired by the films of Italian film director Federico Fellini.

awful, totally awful, the expression is worse than a Barbazon regect. The dress is probably the ugliest things I’ve seen in a long time. WHy would anyone wear a dress that looks like you got tagged?

i have never seen so much photoshopping in one pic in all my life! That looks nothing like the real Katie Holmes. The real Holmes looks horrible, has sallow skin, bags under her eyes….etc. Hell, we have been forced to look at pics of her daily if we come here. That doesn’t look like her, Between the photoshopping and the makeup they musta put on with a trowel, ANYBODY would look better. They could make a horse (well….she does have legs like a horse) look good with enough photoshopping and makeup!
She really looks ridiculous. She makes Amy Winehouse look pretty.
I don’t think Katie Holmes derserves to be in these ads. She’s not indie chic like most of the other artists who have represented Miu Miu in the past. They usually use avante guard actresses who fly under the radar and turn out brilliant work. I see the labels stock with the artistic crowd going way down as of now. Who wants to dress like Katie bleepin Holmes, the freak who is married to Tom seriously gross Cruise?
I don’t think you or I or anyone else has to personally know Holmes to talk about most physical attributes about her, #111. All we need are pictures in this case.
I never understood all these crazy insults about her legs (as if she could do anything about it anyway for you to hold it against her). They look just fine to me. I really don’t get it.

Miu Miu obviously had doubts after they took the photos of her because they photoshopped the photos to hell and back. I guess once they realized their mistake of using her, they had to make the best of it with photoshopping.
Is this Posh’s fatal attraction stalker? Katie would probably like to make love to Posh? She’s so hung up on her. I wonder if they switch. Katie seems like the type that would be open to ANYTHING!
Well, here is another example of stunt casting. We saw it first with her presence in All My Sons. The director hired hire because she is married to wacky Tom…he figured he’d get all the tabloid readers to show up for the play.
Now, Miu Miu (Prada’s copycat) has followed the director’s lead and stunt casted her in this ad. Not a smart move for a company that needs good publicity. Sooner or later, these desperate directors and companies will learn that she jinx’s their product.
I wouldn’t be caught dead in Miu Miu knowing that Homely face is representing that company. Must be a scientologist involved too.
She always looks like she’s trying too hard to be something she’s not.
Has to agree that its too photoshopped. This sexy, fierce look is just not KH. Sexiness is not Katies Holmes, it just does not suit her, she is too big and bulky. The classic elegance look which she did with NYTimes Style was much better although that was heavily photoshopped too. She is not consistent with her style image, what exactly does she want to be? Is she still experimenting with different types of styles?
I love that Katie tries different things, however, she is too uncomfortable or awkward with her body to do modeling. She always slouching and even here she looks distracted and fake. Maybe she should take mime or dance. Just a thought.
