Katie Holmes is on Miu Miu Fire
Scope out Katie Holmes literally on fire in this new Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2009 ad via People.
The ad campaign was shot by acclaimed fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in New York last November.
As posted yesterday, Katie’s look was inspired by the films of Italian film director Federico Fellini.

It would be one thing if she looked like herself but these photos for Miu Miu are so photoshopped she doesn’t look anything like Katie Holmes.
If I were her I’d be embarrassed because they obviously had to change everything about her because she wasn’t pretty enough or petite enough.
I agree. She was stunt casted. They’re just trying to take advantage of her heightened freak status because everyone makes fun of her and Tom.

Now I know why the label chose Katie Holmes. It seems like they saw her as a woman who has learned how to endure punishment. A woman who was willing to suffer and and take the torture. But does her real life fall so far behind? How far is she willing to put herself in the fire in order to get what she wants? This ad is actually kinda brilliant. Does she feel the pain? If she does we’d never know because she’s learned how to control her reaction to it. Maybe she even likes it. Either way to me, the photo communicates the control of feeling pain or pain mixed with beauty. It has an “Eyes wide shut” kind of feel to it.

Katie hasn’t learned how to control anything. It’s pretty damn obvious because half the time she was photographed in NYC by the paps it looked like either she had been crying her eyes out OR she had been smoking too much CRACK.
Neither crack smoking nor crying cause you’re so friggin miserable is a sign of being in control. Get real!
