The marketing comes in where they tirelessly promote their “close friendship,” to appeal to the fanboys/fangirls, not the fact that they are promoting their movie.

I just love you both as actors. Kate great Job with both Oscars, Leo I also thought you deserved on also.. Kate I loved your speech to Leo of how much you love and always have as your great friend, you brought tears to my eyes well deserved…I will never forget the Titanic one of the greatest movies ever..

#79, you’re the idiot. Learn how to read and comprehend something. The first part of the post was addressing you idiots who are dissing them for posing together at a premiere of THEIR movie. You know, which is what costars normally do, not to mention they ARE friends.

Where did I say Kate and Leo are in love and will be together happily ever after?No one said that. So what if people said they look hot and are friends? They do look hot and are friends. What’s the big deal?

And you’re dissing them for posing together at a premiere to their movie? Really? I guess then Meryl Streep and Amy Adams pose together at their premieres is something to criticize too. This is what everyone does at their premieres. They’ve only made TWO public appearances together for Christ’s sake.

They are asked by the media all the time what’s it like to work together over 10 years after Titanic, what do you want them to say “No comment”, ofcourse they are going to answer honestly about how they are friends and enjoyed working together. But that becomes “they are promoting their friendship” Give me a break. They are promoting a movie and answering questions. Ofcourse people are going to be interested in the Titanic connection. If anything Kate and Leo try to put the focus on THIS new film and the experience making that.

The next part of my post said “and especially you Angelina fans”. That was a separate thing. There ARE a lot of Angelina fans here dissing Kate because they are bitter that Kate beat her at the Globes, and that she called her and Brad a living soap opera for the press, which the yare. Just read the nutcase at #31.

77, please don’t act like Angelina is above Kate just because she is currently the queen of tabloid trash. Kate is in the best position because she is the actress of her generation. Just because she stays out of the tabloids doesn’t mean she’s not an important actress. Years from now Angelina’s stupid tabloid stories will only be her legacy while Kate Winslet will have amassed a legacy of great perfomances and films. Meryl Streep stays out of the tabloids and she’s our most legendary actress living. Kate is following the same path. And when people think of an acclaimed respected actress working in her early 30’s, the name on their lips is Kate Winslets. Enough said. If being tabloid worthy makes you more important and better, than that’s a prize Kate Winslet doesn’t want anyway. She is a real actress who is sought after by directors and producers the world over for her amazing talents, not for tabloid headlines.

I just happen to be one of many who are clued in to the emotional hogwash that Winslet keeps using in her films and I’m NOT impressed! btw, I’ve unfortunately seen Heavenly Creatures (overacted the entire way!), Titanic (nuff said…cheesy/corney sappy crap and winslet & dicaprio were painful to watch), Holy Smoke (this was an epic failure and faux New Zealand accent was way off the mark-I’m from Australia for your info), Sense and Sensibility (Thompson acted her off the screen, I wanted to strangle Winslet’s character as she made it SO annoying!), Eternal Sunshine (probably the least crappy of all her performances but not nearly worth all of the frothing at the mouth fanboy attention it gets), Little Children (once again…whining, pouting and selfish characterization which no one could attach to. Haley acted her off the screen!). Sorry to burst your fanboy bubble, but not everyone is impressed by this hack. I really don’t know why I continue to torture myself by watching her films, but I always hope that she’ll change my mind. She never does. And reading her interviews doesn’t help matters any. She is so incredibly snobby and superficial! I give her marriage maybe a year as she seems to care more for her costar than her own husband. She disgusts me.

The poster was addressing my comment about marketing, and my comment about marketing had nothing to do with them posing together at a premiere, which any idiot knows celebs have to do. I was talking about the endless rambling about what good friends they are…which plays into all the fangirl/fanboy fantasies about Jack and Rose….you would know that, though, if you bothered to read my followup post right below it….now go away, silly little girl, and get back to drooling over your Jack and Rose action figures.

I won’t shutup cuz I’ve had it with Winslet and her crazy fanboys repeating the same sh*t over and over about 33 yrs. old and 14 million nominations, blah blah blah. I am an individual with a different set of opinions and taste in acting/film than yourself. Heaven forbid there be any discent! You fanboys need to get a grip and admit that your favorite might not be as perfect as you’d like to think and fantasize about. And why have I seen “basically all” her movies you ask? Well, unless her career is basically limited to 6 movies, I believe you need to rethink and rephrase that question. I’ve seen the ones I’ve seen because I happen to either like the other actors in the films (like Thompson, Haley, Keitel & Dench), or the director (Mendes, Jackson, Field-why did he do this crap after a brilliant In The Bedroom?!!) Titanic I saw because…well…didn’t everyone on the planet see it? That went down as my worst Oscar-winning movie of all time next to Shakespeare in Love (although I loved Dench’s cameo) and Unforgiven (complete abyssmal crap).

Once again I’ll repeat myself, I am NO actor. I am merely a film fan and an audience member like the rest of us. I come with my own standards of excellence and Winslet doesn’t figure into it…AT ALL. You need to deal with the fact that everyone doesn’t hold the same perspective/opinions.

I do however agree with you on Jolie’s performance in Changeling. She was AWFUL! That’s a prime example of overacting. Loved her in Girl, Interrupted though. But you’re right, it may be that she’s a psycho in person so it wasn’t much of a stretch. My boyfriend wanted to see Changeling and drug me along. Needless to say he’s making up for it this weekend.

I agree Diana! I think she’s quickly becoming the most overrated actress of all time! I just saw her in Revolutionary Road and I wasn’t impressed at all! She overracted the entire way through, I wanted to walk out in the middle of it.

Her personality is also very unbecoming lately. Why is she always talking about herself? I this…I that…me me me all the time! ugh! I mean, I understand it’s an interview, but there really are more interesting subjects to bring up in conversation. And she’s so unbelievably judgemental. As are the rest of the fans for going along with it. Who cares what Angelina does? I certainly don’t, so just ignore it. God, you people are such hypocrites!
