Celebs have released reactions to nominations for 2009 Academy Awards via AP. Here’s a quick sampling:

It has been an exceptional year for acting, and I am honored to be in the company of these talented actors whose performances all deserve this recognition.” — Angelina Jolie, best-actress nominee for Changeling.
“It is such a thrill to be recognized in this category with these remarkably talented women. I was with my parents and my dog when I got the news and we were all overjoyed — although I’m not sure my dog knew what was going on. This is a great day to be an actress!” — Anne Hathaway, best-actress nominee for Rachel Getting Married.

Brad’s wife, Angelina Jolie was nominated as well for her performance in Changeling. Doug Pitt says he is very happy to see them both receive the praise they deserve.

All the movies and actors nominated in the best categories were all in movies that were not seen very much by the general public, except Changeling that was viewed like 4 more times than its counterparts and TCCOBB that was viewed as much as 10 times more.

I am glad because it showed that not only they are talented and deserve to be nominated with other talented actors, they also have the biggest pull financially whatever the genre of movie they are in.

The nominations will have a positive effects on those movies and it is a great thing for all movies up there.

Pretty good list of nominees all around. I don;t have major disagreements.
Particularly happy for Melissa Leo and Richard Jenkins. They are both excellent actors and haven’t had the opportunities to showcase their talent as others have.
Also happy that Brad Pitt scored a nom for his very beautiful yet subtle portrayal of this sweetly odd and sad character. Almost makes up for his miss last year for what I thought was the better performance in The Assassination of Jesse James.

I did see Bride Wars and she was okay, not outstanding. Haven’t seen Slumdogs or Kates Reading yet either. I just have a problem with her making out with a kid, I would be mortified it’s like sleeping with my sons friend.
