Angelina Jolie Reacts To Oscar Nomination
Celebs have released reactions to nominations for 2009 Academy Awards via AP. Here’s a quick sampling:
“Working with Clint Eastwood was a reward in itself that will last me a lifetime. To receive a nomination from the Academy on top of that is a privilege beyond any expectation. It has been an exceptional year for acting, and I am honored to be in the company of these talented actors whose performances all deserve this recognition.” — Angelina Jolie, best-actress nominee for Changeling.
“It is such a thrill to be recognized in this category with these remarkably talented women. I was with my parents and my dog when I got the news and we were all overjoyed — although I’m not sure my dog knew what was going on. This is a great day to be an actress!” — Anne Hathaway, best-actress nominee for Rachel Getting Married.

REACTIONS TO OSCAR NOMS
“I am so honored to be nominated for a film in which I am so proud and to be included with such a wonderful and talented group of women. It was an honor to work with [director Darren Aronofsky] and the rest of the cast and crew of The Wrestler. Congratulations to Mickey [Rourke], for an extraordinary performance.” Marisa Tomei, best supporting actress nominee for The Wrestler. Rourke received a best-actor nomination for his role in that film.
___
“It’s everything that you could possibly imagine it is, and not that I needed the nomination to know I was on the right path, but it certainly helps. It really does.” — Viola Davis, supporting-actress nominee for Doubt.
___
“I couldn’t have imagined anything like this a couple years ago. You just do your work and are happy you’re able to make some money. This is very, very special, especially because of the movie. It wasn’t that I read this character and said, `I have to do this character.’ It was more about the movie.” — Josh Brolin, supporting-actor nominee for Milk.
___
“I didn’t know at first what awards we’d won, and when I finally found out, I thought it was pretty great. To have as many as eight is pretty good.” — Milk director Gus Van Sant, who received a best-director nomination for the film.
___
“I am overjoyed by these nominations and deeply grateful that the Academy has embraced the music of this film. Slumdog Millionaire has paid magical dividends for so many people around the globe. I am deeply honored to be a part of a film that has inspired so many.” — A.R. Rahman, nominee for original score and original song.
___
“I’m delighted for Kate. I think she did two astonishing performances in Revolutionary Road and in The Reader. Whichever one the Academy went for, I think it’s her year. I think it’s her turn. I think that it’s wonderful for her, but I do think she’s done two astonishing performances.” — Stephen Daldry, director of The Reader. Winslet received a best-actress nomination for her role in that film.
___
“I’m extremely happy to have been nominated. And very fortunate. Playing Hanna Schmitz will always remain one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever been blessed with. I’m genuinely thrilled not just for myself but for the wonderful Stephen Daldry and David Hare. These nominations are a testament to their unwavering commitment to this film. And I’m also very happy for all the people in Germany whose hard work on `The Reader’ has been rewarded by these nominations. Surely Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack are smiling down on us today!” — Kate Winslet, best-actress nominee for The Reader.

Congrats to Angie and Brad. Really sweet people. Love them.
Angelina looks so old & worn out. Eat something love!
God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
I wish we could enjoy a Brad/Angie thread for once without bringing up his ex’s name into it.
Awwww—I love this picture…

Angelina never disappears in her roles. I try to like her movies because they are promoted well but I just can get into the movie due to her accents,overacting…..I don’t think she is a good enough actress for this honor. She is a great manipulator so who knows what will happen.
the look like sisters here…
neither of them looks god though

Not to start RingGate, but that’s wishful thinking. It’s a similar ring but not the same ring. If it were the same ring Angie would have to wear it on her thumb, not the ring finger.

Does close enough stop a ring-gate?
How are you PT? Wasn’t this an awesome day for the JP’s and us :-)
Oyyyy…I really feel sorry for the trolls. Can you imagine for FOUR years of hatred and wishing for bad karma, seperation etc …they still continue to get slapped right across the face by the JP’s …But, since we know what level their IQ’s are at…they keep on coming back for more. ROTFLMAO!
congrats anne and angie, altho i think they will both lose
i hope kate winslet wins!! o and slumdog as well
HOLLA
How ridiculous; it’s never “your turn” for anything. STFD Kate and Kate brown noses.
Great!!!! I hope she’ll get it!
Changeling does NOT deserve any oscar - especially not for Jolie’s “acting”. All she did was showing her face with the always same bulding lips. Whatever role she plays, she looks the same .. yawn. The film itself was just one more brutal movie playing around with real-life tragedy - and then not even giving all the details of the true case that the story features. Not good.
I hope Meryl, Anne or Kate get the award because they are better actresses. And I hope Angelina gets caught on camera again looking like evil bitter ***** after she loses. She’s f@cking FAKE!!! I can’t believe people worship her. Are you Paris Hilton fans too?
So happy to see someone of Angelina’s talent be recognized for her work.
CONGRATS Brad and Angelina!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS ANGIE. THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THAT SHE WAS NOMINATION THIS TIME.
CONGRATS
CONGRATS TO PAPAPITT, AS WELL.
Stop bringing Jennifer in this Brangelina fans! And all those rude things you’re saying about Jen like how she’ll “never win an Oscar” and how her “Dog Movie is pathetic”. And you call her names like “Maniston” very mature! You haters sound like high schoolers(I’m pretty sure most of you are)
Jennifer is more of a TV star, she doesn’t want to be considered a super A-list material girl like Angie. Jen likes to do more fun movies, which is what she’s good at. Angie likes to do drama movies, which she doesn’t always succeed in. Fans, Angelina won’t be winning the Oscar for “Changeling”.
