Leonardo DiCaprio continues to get snubbed and it bugs me! His performance in this movie was anything but brilliant! I loved it!
Watch and learn from Oscar nominee Meryl Streep!she is a beracon when it comes to the fine art of acting. doubt’s leading character is a tour de force for Meryl and one can learn so much from her acting, concentrated and pure. Congratulations to the Mistress of the Form! Mike Weaver
….’she who shall not be named’ wasn’t ;nominated nor does she have anything to do with anything, being she’s completely irrelevant to the living - but look`e who continues to talk about her. lmbaooo @ loonie-bishes who’re obsessed with the ‘dead’. hhaahhaahhaahhaahhaa
Yay! Shocked and surprised that Angie got the nod. WOOT!
==
Not surprised about Brad or his movie seeing as thought his OSCAR Campaigning was obvious and in yo face type o shiit! No way was Button better than the Dark Knight. :lol: It just ain’t possible.

Leo was snubbed because he didn’t ***** himself out like Brad. It just goes to show if you ***** yourself out then you can get a nom.
.
+++++++++++++
.
I think what you meant to say is that Leo didn’t WHROE himself out AS MUCH THIS YEAR AS HE DID 2 YEARS AGO FOR BLOOD DIAMOND & THE DEPARTED and 5 years ago for The Aviator. Cuz Leo’s done more than his fair share of whroing to get an Oscar nod!
OMFG, OMFG, Congralutaions to Brad and Angie and TCCOBB. TCCOBB got 13 nods. I am soooooooooooooo happpyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Congratulations Brad and Angie!!!!

Methinks youre trying too hard on this kate-snubbed-angie-and-now-i-dont-like-her-anymore schtick (sic).
.
FYI Kate is a no-nonsense, professional woman just like Angie who only does movies cos its a job that allows her to do what she loves. Just like Angie. When the job and its hoopla are over, she is first and foremost a mom. Just like angie. Both angie and kate spoke after the so-called snub (whch it wasnt - just an honest flustered mistake).
.
They both spoke after the event and as expected, angie was very loving and forviging and kate was very apologetic. Both of them knew that the vultures in the so-called entertainment media as well as the haterz would pounce on this as some big meaningful diss by kate of angie.
.
“She is lovely, very lovely,” is what kate told one of the vultures who of course, had to pry to find out what transpired between kate and angie after the “snub.”
.
Get a life. nothing here. move along.
Kung Fu Panda o/////
I agree with you CATHY, Beckhams are so over, David was great football player while he was in Man U and before he met Posh! He was one of the best!! And than he went in her direction and became a model more than a player. I also don’t understand how people in US can be so rude towards Jolie-Pitt, they are the biggest stars today and they are doing so much good things to all people! Just go and see Angie work for UN! Amazing! They are always nice to fans and I just like them so much! When Angelina was here in Prague making Wanted everyone from my country who met her said that she is wonderful, polite and nice! I love them both and I am happy that their work is recognised!

No Bruce Springsteen music for The Wrestler? wtf?

Prediction: Mickey Rourke will win Best Actor.
.
++++++++++++++
.
Bruce not getting a nom is kind of unexpected.
.
As for the Best Actor winner - predict Frank Langella or Richard Jenkins will win. I think Mickey & Sean will cancel each other out. BOTH have a lot of enemies in the Academy. I wouldn’t have been suprised if Mickey Rourke had been snubbed altogether. He burned A LOT of bridges in HW, pissed off the wrong people and made a lot of enemies. People in HW have long memories and hold grudges like a mofo. Also, there are a lot of old fogies in the Academy and they may also balk at giving Mr. Anarchy - Sean Penn - a second Oscar. So a surprise winner isn’t out of the realm of possibility…
Penleope Cruz for the win!!!!!!!!!
Kate gonna whine some more about not winning, now that she only got ONE nomination.
cmr - obviously you didnt see the “interviews” Winslet gave in the british press - to quote her ” i wouldnt want the life that ange is leading, i am a very private person etc etc etc” - you can imagine the rest - just what “life” is ange leading??? she is looking after her kids and partner, she is acting when she can, she never leaves the kids unless her or brad are around, so what gives winslet the right to say anything about ange’s life??? she was drumming up publicity at ange’s expense, and to me that is CHEAP

I’m also sorry that J. Michael Straczynski, the guy who wrote the Changeling screen play didn’t get a nod for best original screenplay as it seems he did a mighty fine job.

Wow…you’re right! I just went back and looked at the list. I didn’t realized he hadn’t gotten nominated. A lof of the awards gurus thought he was a shoe-in. Instead the writers of Happy Go Lucky, Frozen River & In Bruges were nominated (along with Milk and Wall-E). Wall-E? I’m sorry, but cartoons DO NOT belong in some of these categories. They can call it “animated” all they want but it’s just a 2 hour cartoon to me.
Wow!!!! COngratulations!!! Success all around, professionally and personally. The First Couple of Hollywood, Jolie-Pitt.
Cannot believe Angelina is nominated. She is horrible in that movie. I usually think she is great, but not in this one!!! What a shame… It just sounds like a “Hey, we have to nominate this hot couple, because more people will watch the show on TV!!”
Just hope Anne will win. She deserves it. Kate is good too, but better in The Reader that in Revolutionary road… But I’m pretty sure now she’ll win. Poor Anne…
My really hope goes to Rourke. He deserves it so much. That’s a pretty good come back!

Aren’t we all stunned not to see a certain “actress” and her dog of a dog flick on the list? I’m shockd…and the world was shocked, to…

And dare I say, this is after she ***** herself out and out too….

LOL. Remember the troll who claimed that neither Angie or Brad would get nommed because X would use her influence as a member of the ACADEMY BOARD to prevent it? BBBBBWWWHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That was the funniest troll comment of 2008! I hope the troll now understands - not only is X NOT on teh Academy board, but she doesn’t have enough influence in HW to get a parking ticket overturned let alone prevent Oscar nominations.

I think they have two different types of enemies. As for Mickey, his enemies must no longer in the business or have no clout because a new generation has put him in movies like Sin City and The Wrestler. .
Brad Pitt??? Dim witted, lying cheating dog, Brad Pitt and his white trash, home wrecking, husband stealing ****** ho of a girlfriend Angelina nominated for Oscars????? Puhleeeeeeeeze. Brad and Angie, PLEASE hurry up and move to France. With your heads hung in shame, stick your tails between your legs and go to France.
I can’t wait until Angelina’s former bodyguard’s tell-all book comes out. He’s so going to spill the beans on all of her escapades. The real Angelina will come to light.
