OlderOscar Nominations 2009 List
Forest Whitaker and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis announce the nominations for the 2009 Academy Awards held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Wednesday (January 22) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button picked up the most honors, racking up 13 noms including best pic. Slumdog Millionaire followed with 10 nods.
Brad Pitt earned a Best Actor nomination (Benjamin Button) and Angelina Jolie picked up a nod for Best Actress (Changeling). Heath Ledger was nominated for Supporting Actor on the one-year anniversary of his death for The Dark Knight.
The Oscar ceremony will be hosted by Hugh Jackman on February 22 at LA’s Kodak Theater.

mz - dont know what a size 2 is, in british i am a size 10, i am not a hater, i dont hate anyone, but i dont think what winslet did in front of hundres of people, with ange sitting there with no way of answering back, say what she did. she knew it would hit the headlines, if I had been in ange’s place, i would have wanted the floor to open up and swallow me, it was uncalled for, not deserved and utterly UNPROFESSIONAL
I’m so sick of the Brangelina drama. Changeling was borrring and Angelina over-acted that character. I agree with #15..what is she doing there?? Ben Button was great and Brad did a good job, so that was an earned nomination.
I’m so happy Heath got the nomination, it is so deserving…what a bittersweet day for his family.
How great that Taraji was nominated!! I’ve been a fan since I saw her in Boston Legal!!!
Oh Please! Angie kicked ass in Changeling and she pretty much carried the whole damn film on her own with no help from Cgi. Brad Pitt performance is dull and bland in Button. Some other actor woulda tore that role up but not Brad Pitt and his lack of acting skills.

Viola Davis gave an OUTSTANDING perrfromance. Not too much screen time but man..what a find she is.

mz - i am not an actress, she has had the experience, as you say, of speaking in front of millions of people. “The other one”??? She didnt forget the names of the other actresses, did she?? I hope I am not a hater, I just think Angelina gets such a bad deal from everyone and it really is not fair, is it??
How disgusting that Angelina Jolie got nominated over Sally Hawkins with her “OH LOOK AT ME I’M ACTING!”.
I’m also annoyed that Bruce Springsteen was left out.

i cant believe leonardo dicaprio isnt nominated. thats probably the biggest kill of the oscars. the academy seriously needs to get over this hatred with leo and let him win for once.
YAY for Heath.. he was amazing in The Dark Night!!! and he completly deserves the award!!
But Leonardo DiCaprio was over looked yet again :( when is the academy going to realize that he is one of the Best Actors of his time??? The past 5 nominations he has recieved he deserved the award because his work is outstanding and he never does the same character twice. Thats just my opinion of course. I’m totally behind Kate, Anne or Meryl for best actress! Kate actually was up for “The Reader” AND “Revolutionary Road” , but since the is a rule that an actress can’t be nominated twice in the ame category, they picked “The Reader” since it was first. I heard that on the Today Show.
