Ugly Betty Canceled?!?!?!?!
Things aren’t looking so pretty for Ugly Betty.
EW reports the ABC dramedy is being put on hiatus starting March 26 and replacing it with episodes of Samantha Who? and the new Megan Mullally-Cheryl Hines comedy In the Motherhood. Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
The network’s release says, “Ugly Betty will return to Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. following the run of In the Motherhood and Samantha Who?”
An ABC spokesperson adds, “The Thursday night block is a good opportunity to launch these comedies. That said, Betty is a solid performer and there is no question that it will definitely be back to complete its season, just without repeats.”
That means Betty could return sometime in June. That’s four months away!!! Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!

I am really pissed Ugly Betty is being “interrupted” by such stupid shows as Samantha Who?? Ugly Betty is the only comedy on t.v. that actually makes me laugh. Christina Applegate has been around for a looooong time. Let the young, fresh actresses shine!! I am so mad ABC, I just may have to boycott the station ! I had to say it, but if they should cancel anything they should cancel Grey’s. The show got really stupid when Izzy started seeing Deny. Oh my gosh that was so LAME !!!
This is the only show I watch on ABC, so they’ve just lost another viewer… for however long it takes to bring Ugly Betty back! This is a ridiculously ignorant move. Shows with creativity and intelligence are ditched for the predictable stereotype of what sells more. What a bummer!
Give ‘em great theatre and they want commercials wrapped in pop shlock. Bye, Betty - you were like a little slice of stage craft adorning an ocean of vapid bourgeois pudding.

Actually I am a Huuuuuge Vanessa Williams fan but even Ms. Williams couldn’t keep me to watching. Betty has NOT been on my ‘to watch’ list since last season. I had really stopped watching Ugly Betty because too many Celebs were starting to jump on board and everything got too cloudy and just stupid. Either way, I could take it or leave it.

ABC is the worst network out there, they make the WORST decisions. The fac that they cancelled one of the smartest shows on tv, Boston Legal, shows their level of intelligence.

Please don’t take Ugly Betty away! I love the show! This season is finally starting to pick up and you’re getting to know Mark and Amanda more as main charcters and I love Becki Newton and Michael Urie. Not to mention everyone else that has to do with this show that makes me laugh everytime I watch. If ABC does one smart thing this year, it would be to keep Ugly Betty!

Not a fan of Samantha Who? All I can say is that Motherhood better be good because Betty rocks.
I look forward to Thursday night at 7PM Central time. All my family and friends know this is the ONE show I make time for in a week. I can’t believe they would try to replace this show which has higher ethics than the Motherhood show where a supposed mom speaks of using paper towels for diapers for 3 days!!!!!!!! What if some igno really tries this. Stupid, insulting humor like that belongs in the garbage. At least betty demonstrates higher morals (okay she did stay the night at her BF) and the human quality of helping her fellow being. What is wrong with that? Can’t we have one show which isn’t weird, doesn’t have silk, insulting humor, where the chick is a believable every-day kind of gal (although the fashion is really loud). I really hope ABC reconsiders. I know Freddy Rodriguez has a future and good for him, but I did like the Gio and Betty thing. The new guy Matt is however an excellent replacement. Carry on Ugly Betty. The majority love you. Smooch!!!!
I will be soooo sad if they cancel Ugly Betty! It’s one of my favorite shows! I’m very disappointed in ABC.
What a sweet, earthy, escape from reality show. So many detective shows and few, fun shows for adults to watch. I LOVE Ugly Betty and it’s quirky cast! Save this show for the people that don’t like canned laughter, bullets or blood! It’s moral message sounds loud and clear every week!
Please don’t cancel one of my favorite shows. I like it because it has a lot of “heart”. The characters care about one another. True, it does get somewhat far fetched at times, but I can live with that. America Ferrera is perfect in the role of Betty. I love all of the characters with all of their warts and shortcomings. Oh pleeese bring it back.
