OlderAshlee Simpson Defends Sister’s Weight Gain
Jessica Simpson’s recent weight gain has become all the buzz lately. Her little sister Ashlee has taken to her MySpace to vent her frustration:
“Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy… I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News (”Jessica Simpson Shocks Fans With Noticeably Fuller Figure”.)
“All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard. Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend? I seriously doubt it.
“How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure? Now can we focus on the things that really matter. -Ash ”
Earlier today, one of Jessica’s trainers also defended her fuller figure.

even if i never liked this girl, she has a damn point, and got her point across rather nicely. and people she isnt talking about jessica being a size 2, shes generalizing that these days celebrities that are as small as a size 2 and gain alittle weight here and there are scrutinized and critisized without mercy thse days.
Yeah - J.L.Hewitt said she was a 2. And then she went and lost 20 more pounds. They all claim to be a size 2. Then what the hell was Jess before? In children’s clothing? I don’t think so………..
We live in an obese culture - so all this talk about her being ‘normal’, just means she’s fat.
Despite the fact that Ashlee is making a point, her statement only focuses MORE attention on Jessica’s figure - is this the ulterior motive of her eloquently worded plea to the masses to avert their attention to more worthy issues? If this is truly an issue that “doesn’t matter,” why even take the time to write about it?
The fact of the matter is, the public moves on rather quickly as soon as a better story comes along, and a better story ALWAYS comes along. Celebrities should realize this instead of stirring the pot - it’s a disadvantage to themselves to do so!
i agree with 24. but i also COMPLETELY agree with ashely. it isn’t good for young girls (or any women, for that matter) to be told that if you gain some weight you’re a failure and disgusting. all women are beautiful. so back the fuc* off of jessica.

The same Ashley Simpson who COMPLETELY changed her looks via plastic surgery so she would no longer be known as the “ugly” Simpson sister? Yeah, I totally buy your sincerity, Ash. (*sarcasm*) And no, I’m not stupid enough to believe she actually wrote that post. Not once, on her pathetic reality show, did she ever utter a full, coherent, grammatically-correct, intelligent sentence. But now I’m expected to believe she can write in semi-persuasive language? That’s my kneejerk reaction. In fairness I really applaud those feelings. It’s just hard when the person sharing them uses plastic surgery and botox to create a whole new physical appearance.

I totally agree with Ashlee on this one. Not every woman is a size 1 or even a 0. I, myself, am a size 10 and I have been told that I am fat. Health wise, I am actually in the norms. I say as long as someone is healthy and happy with the way they look, they shouldnt feel pressured to loose weight. Because of the “sticks” roaming around, I feel the pressure of loosing weight and it’s not right. We shouldnt be in a world that does this. Instead of puting girls under pressure about weight. Lets teach them about being healthy and happy.

When one trades on their body and looks and when their fame is very much based on their appearance then of course thins will be said when they begin looking different. If her focus was purely on music then sure, it would be wrong to criticize but it’s not. She runs around in bikinis, does ’sexy’ pop videos and is known for being a blonde ‘bombshell’ so it’s only natural that people comment when she begins looking like an elephant.
ASHLEE…WTF are you teaching teenage girls when you go out and get a nose job at age 20? “Focus on things that matter?” Like what? Lip synching and plastic surgery?
Claiming that people make fun of others that are a size 2 is a little dramatic. The way she wrote this passage, it seems like she is referring to Jessica as being a size 2 . Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think that Jessica looks bad in any way, but she is no where close to being a size 2.
Ashlee are you ******* serious talking about how real beauty comes in different shapes and size or forms and **** like that when everybody knows your ass has had extensive work done, your nose, chin, and so on. Give us a break, PLEASE.
