OlderAshlee Simpson Defends Sister’s Weight Gain
Jessica Simpson’s recent weight gain has become all the buzz lately. Her little sister Ashlee has taken to her MySpace to vent her frustration:
“Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy… I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News (”Jessica Simpson Shocks Fans With Noticeably Fuller Figure”.)
“All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard. Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend? I seriously doubt it.
“How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure? Now can we focus on the things that really matter. -Ash ”
Earlier today, one of Jessica’s trainers also defended her fuller figure.

There is no way in h-e-l-l that Jess is a size 2- Give the public a break!
All of these comments about Jess’s weight-gain are soooo overblown- if you look at it closer it’s probably a publicity stunt on her part to hawk her ***** country album= no one was talking about her before this now were they?

I agree that Jessica is beautiful and is a healthy weight but I find it ironic that Ashley is saying people are beautiful at in shapes and sizes. Isn’t she the one that her face totally re-constructed to look like everyone else in Hollywood?

#34 You are right! I was listening to my radio station this morning and Perez Hilton pointed this out in the radio and I actually have to agree with him on this one.
for one jessica simpson didn’t gain any weight and if she did let her work those cuves anyone that is calling her fat is just dumb!
WOW, I think that you all are interested in Jessica, regardless of what you say, you are here aren’t you!! Well, I for one am happy to see that she can gain some wait and be happy and that is the message that we should be sending to all girls. And leave her be!!
first of all, just because Ashlee said “size 2″ she’s not saying Jess was size 2, come on now, it was a figure of speech. she was exaggerating the fact that people in the entertainment business or in the public eye all together will become scrutinized even if they are a SIZE 2. . . . GET IT PEOPLE???
It’s called a “FIGURE OF SPEECH.”
Who cares if she is a size 2 or a size 12….Jessica is human with feelings & just like the rest of us…. she can gain a few pounds!!!
I can’t imagine how I would feel if I gained weight & had to see my picture all over the TV & papers talking about how FAT I have gotten!!!
Lets not Forget Jessica is a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice! I would care more if her voice changed…not her dress size!! As long as she is happy we should all be happy for her!
This is the type of behavior that creates eating disorders in ourselves and our children!!! We complain Celebrities are too skinny….and when they gain some weight & look healthy …..we call them FAT!!! It make’s no since! 6 months from now Jessica might be back to her old weight & people will be calling her anorexic! Make -up your mind people!!!!
Jessica you are a beautiful person inside and out……don’t ever let anyone tell you different!!!
