‘The City’ Gets Renewed!

I ran into The City’s Jay Lyon (Whitney Port’s boyfriend) at the Village at the Yard during the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and guess what, you’re going to be seeing him a lot more!!!

MTV has renewed the freshman reality show, which is a spinoff of The Hills, which is a spinoff of Laguna Beach.

The City airs on Mondays @ 10PM ET/PT on MTV.

I am actually enjoying The City but the cast, for the most part, is kinda hard to like. Not sure how I feel about Jay as he seems like a lot of work. Whitney has her hands full with this group.

I don’t get the appeal of these shows, wish I could be paid to just live life and party.
Jay is such a player, Whitney seems constantly lost and Olivia is a know it all. Erin is the only kid, I’d hang with.

i’m actually enjoying the city more than the hills…probably because speidi isn’t on it ! also because i’m from NY so it’s fun seeing all these places i’ve been to!

Wow. I can’t believe it this crappy show made it. I love the Hills, but this one’s has got to go. I gave it a chance and it was so bad, I couldn’t stand seeing it on my Tivo list, let alone watch another crap episode. If you like fashion you’re better off watching Project Runway.

I prefer The City to The Hills - its a lot better. But I agree with an earlier comment, Allie is the reason I watch the show. She’s all kinds of fab!

I bet Ms. Cariiiiii Lyon is the one who helped get her brother on the show. Cariiii has been in contacts with JJ for awhile (about a year now at least) now so no wonder he is metting up with Jay or his real name Brent. Oh well I guess Cariiii must be hard at work cruising around the net for blogs she can contact to post entries on Jay and Miranda.

How is it that schlock like this keeps getting renewed and spun-off but well written tv shows with real actors get canceled? I really don’t understand the state of television anymore. This is probably why I don’t watch that much television to begin with.

I seriously don’t get the appeal of this guy. Is he supposed to be hot? because I just don’t see it. And his personality doesn’t exactly make up for it either.
