Nicole Kidman: Movie Musical Madness
Nicole Kidman keeps warm, wearing a fur coat over her strapless white hot dress while filming her movie musical Nine in Rome, Italy on Thursday (January 29).
The 41-year-old Aussie actress plays Claudia, the muse and protege of film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis, pictured here).
The movie also stars Oscar winners Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench and Sophia Loren. Rounding out the star-studded cast are Kate Hudson, Penélope Cruz and Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson.

People in Rome wear fur all the time. They couldn’t care less about the animals. I know, I have lived there. So it’s very appropriate to wear fur in this movie but I do hope it is a fake one! It looks suspiciously real.
I read somewhere that Nicole doesn’t care much for animals. That’s the thing I like the least about her, if it is true. Only hard people don’t like animals, I think, and if you care to educate yourself about the cruel fur business you will know what torture these animals go through.
It astounds and saddens me that Nicole Kidman would agree to wear real fur on film.
There are very nicely done fur imitations that she could have used, if she had bothered to protest. I doubt she did protest. That seems like real fur to me.

I am as anti fur as they come, but she may NOT have had a choice with what she wore in the filming. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her in real fur in “real” life. Sometimes when you do a movie you have to go with the flow. She may not have thought to have it written into her contract to have no real fur like Paltrow. If she didn’t then she doesn’t have too much say at this point…especially since in this movie she is a supporting actress.,
nicole is a vision, i can’t get tired to look how beautiful she looks here.
Daniel is such an amazing actor, so is Nicole, penelope, but Kate and fergy are so poor! i can’t understand how they chosed both!

The best part about Nicole being in NINE is that she has a very small role. If she was a major character, it would be a death knoll for the movie. Any project she has been involved with in the last two years has bombed.
She looks fine when she’s got makeup on and a wig… I’m not a fan of fur either, but I’m sure it’s part of the role. If an actress is very concerned about not wearing fur, it can be written into their acting contract. But if that isn’t a concern that they have, the wardrobe department (with costume design) will define the wardrobe.

By the whay, Australia was a flop in USA, that’s true, but is doing more than great overseas….The film already gained money enough to overdue the budget…It has profit already!

I think Nicole is a classic beauty! She is definitely breathtaking in that first photo! I agree with #16….how does Kate Hudson and I think Fergie , too,even rate being there with the rest of the cast.
So glad that people have posted about the success of Australia. We Americans think we rule the world; not so. The critics in the USA panned the movie (shows what they know)l. In other parts of the world the movie is a huge success. Has definitely showed a large profit. Nicole is so stunning. I am the same age as her; I am not even close to being as beautiful as she, but I do not have wrinkles either and have a very nice figure. The woman is only 41 years old……why do people pretend like she is 61. She will be beautiful forever…….it is in her genetics and physiology. Critics love to say botox, etc. I don’t think so; I make my lips fuller by using extensive (hidden) lip liner and the right lipstick. Nicole has very professional makeup people to assist her….she does not need botox. Let’s enjoy a beautiful, talented, genuine lady.

Why don’t some of you contact the costume department of Nine to complain if you don’t like the coat? The style is 60’s like the car and the hairdo. It’s probably been used in many movies over the years, maybe even in Fellini’s, and was not made specifically for this movie. It’s a costume, not Nicole’s personal belonging.

HI I just wanna tell u that u are right about a few things there, but let me tell u this I adore animals, I really do, I even save ants and I´m not kidding, people call me weird or whatever, I hate people that hurt animals, I had fight with my best friends deffending animals I try very hard to not eat animals, I study biology and in a subject we had to disset mice, and I had to take the class 2 times because the first I could not do kill the rat, when I did I felt horrible I cried for 4 or 5 hours and I had nightmares for a year, and I´m also a big fan of nicole, and I know a lot of things about her, and I know she is one of the sweetest celebrities out there, is impossible for me to believe she doesn´t like or care for animals, if that was the case I will be the first one to hate her, my point is Nicole never wore a fur cout in real life, so my point is sometimes we have to do things we don´t want to do just because is our job

Does the fact that this is a costume in a film in any way change the fact that innocent animals were abused, tortured and killed in the making of that fur? That is one REALLY stupid comment!
ANY fur, regardless of WHERE it is worn, involves the torture and slaughter of animals in the most brutal fashion imaginable. EVERYONE but the most uneducated and ignorant knows this, and so does she. Trust me, Hollyood knows.
Now, Kidman made a choice when she ignored it. I just ask people to take note of it. I used to be a fan of hers but not anymore. She crossed a line.
Anything Kidman wears will give PR to that product and SHE KNOWS THAT! She is like a walking commercial for fur in that film. That is the truth and it SICKENS me. She could have said no, and she could have told them to get her something else to wear.
She did not do that and it is obvious from the pictures that she has no problems promoting furs, as long as SHE looks good.
Almost all Hollywood stars have taken a stand against this abuse and torture. She does not take that stand, and it makes her a small person indeed.
Also, note how that fur EXACTLY matches her hair color. She clearly was involved in selecting the right fur for this film since it had to match her hair and skin color in the exact right way. I bet she tried on A LOT of furs before this one was selected.
She obviously does NOT care about animal abuse and the torture of animals in the fur industry and she does not mind promoting furs at all.
And before anyone tries to say she didn’t have a choice and that the costume department is responsible you should understand that big movie stars have contracts that protects their reputation.
Nothing that could be damaging to their reputation and career could be forced upon them in the making of a film, and that would include wearing fur. If she wears fur it is because she AGREED to wearing fur. Period.

Just because because people eat animals, doesn’t make it okay to put them through unimaginable torture just to make a fashion accessory.
‘Australia’ in two months grossed $184 million worldwide, with more than $34 million in Australia the country alone. It is just a shot ahead of being the 2nd highest grossing movie ever made Down Under, so BACK OFF HATERS!!! Without a question, Nicole Kidman is a wonderful, successful actress and ‘Australia’ is a Great film.
