Michael Phelps Apologizes For Smoking Pot
Olympic great Michael Phelps has apologized for smoking marijuana.
In a statement released to The Associated Press, Phelps said, “I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I’m 23 years old and despite the successes I’ve had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again.”
Yesterday, UK tabloid News of the World published the bong picture of the swimmer, who won a record eight gold medals at the Beijing Games.
No word on whether or not Phelps has been released from his multi-million dollar endorsement deals.

A perfect example that marijuana can’t effect your physical condition if you take care of it. He is the epitome of a world class athlete, some may say he’s the greatest olympian of all time. If michael phelps can hit bongs and win not one, not two, but eight olympic gold medals; people who are against it should realize that its not bad for you. Michael, your the ******* man.

For all of you who blame phelps and say what a terrible role model he is for smoking pot should consider this. If the media had never picked this up than no one would have known that he hit the bong and we would still be commending him on what a role model he is but do to some irresponsible reporting in order to make a killing has ruined his image. its not like he was out in the middle of central park hiting the bong for all to see he was doing it behind closed doors.

Name me one person in the history of recorded civilization that has ever died from smoking marijuana? just one. Didn’t think so.
Now name me one person that has ever died from an alcohol related death. I know of about 15 personally within the the last 20 years.
In 2006, 13,470 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes in the US. That’s crashes. Not deaths due to liver disease, not drunken murderous rages. Not suicides due to depression.
