OlderChristian Bale Drops F-Bomb 36 Times
Christian Bale dropped the F-bomb 36 times during his nearly 4-minute verbal lashing, according to Today show’s count.
The angry 35-year-old actor was exposed yesterday for screaming and shouting at Director of Photography Shane Hurlbut for ruining a scene by walking onto the set of Terminator Salvation.
“I want you off the set! You prick!” Bale yelled at Hurlbut. “No, don’t just be sorry! Think for one f—ing second! What the f— are you doing? Are you professional or not?”
Bruce Franklin, an assistant director and associate producer on the fourth Terminator film, tells E! News that Bale is a “consummate professional” and he was just having a bad day.
“If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove…It was the most emotional scene in the movie,” said Franklin. “And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn’t walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed.”

Being honest, in my life I’ve never heard the f*** word so many times in only 4 minutes! It really got difficult for me to go over the second half of the tape. For what I can say, I think Bale is a sad man full of regrets and a looser-in-life: I’m sure he grew up thinkin’ the world is himself and the others are sh*t. But what I heard is something inhuman and obviously there’s no excuse for his behavoiur, even the eventual psychological commitment in that scene. They say he punched his mother and sister? OK, NOW I BELIEVE THAT. I’m so ashamed to think about all the money these small-inside-actors earn in their life. DISGUSTING.

#19. From my friends in UK, I learned that both sis & mom were trying to get monies from him. It’s well known in UK that Chris doesn’t speak to his mother and sister but has helped them in the past. From all accounts Mom and sis started the argument knowing he’s got a temper, then wanted to ruin him in the press by going to police. Now I know why Chris stayed with his Dad in the US!
Wow! Just think of all of those stress hormones raging through his system! The guy is going to stroke out if he doesn’t learn to control his anger. Everyone can get that mad if they let themselves, it is not hard to do and I am sure that he had a reason to be upset but he needs to learn skills to manage it or his life will not be a good one or a very long one. People are intimidated and afraid of his anger so his relationships will not be as full as they could be if he controlled himself. You can’t just explode and let your rage escalate higher and higher, you can even hear the spit well up, he is just boiling over with rage. Mr. Bale needs professional help or to at least care enough about his life and his family to read and learn about stress and anger management. He has to let go of his ego long enough to help himself though and to be able to admit to himself that he needs management skills and it’s not that everyone else is the cause of his problems with anger issues. I hope that he has since learned to help himself cope with being pissed off in a healthy manner for his sake and those who work and live with him. Wow.

There’s no excuse for this four minutes of verbal abuse. It’s not the first time his temper has made news, and it won’t be the last unless he gets help. It’s cheaper for movie people to excuse it and do PR damage control than it is to get rid of him and reshoot with someone else.. But it may affect what he’s offered in the future, no matter how good an actor he is. Get help, Christian.

This was not a one time incident. He has a history of anger problems even as a youth. As for his talent, yeah sure he has real talent. he isn’t that great an actor. empire of the sun was a loooong time ago. and the director should be credited for his performance in that movie, just as m. night shyamalan should be credited for how well haley joel osment was in sixth sense. just because you find him “sexy” or “hot” doesn’t make him one of the greats. same goes with hugh jackman. neither of them are talented nor versatile. they’re just eye candy for some women.
and by the way, the hurlbut guy did not walk into the scene. he walked within christian bale’s line of sight. that is a fact. it is still considered a big no-no but christian bale could have ignored him and the scene would not have to be ruined. and even if someone did walk into a scene (which wasn’t the case in this instance), the scene can always be salvaged if the actor got it right through the magic of editing and cropping.

Of course someone from the film is going to come out and smooth it over. But I’m sorry, abusiveness is not excused because of a person’s situation. How many abused children have been victimized because daddy or mommy is having a bad, intense day? No, nobody was hurt here (sounds like it could have went that way, though), but his tirade was definitely over the top enough to raise eyebrows. Bale is correct. THat is why they say quiet on the set while shooting. Sure its a special effects movie, but the terminator franchise have always had a strong emotional element to them as well. I can’t wait to see the movie!

but I know what DPs on film make - if you knew you’d faint knowing that a man who makes this much money was such a hack as to walk into a scene -
this is really about maintaining a standard of work

Some people act like this was the first time an actor “blew up” when there are much more incidents that were much worse like Alec Baldwin’s angry phone call or Russell Crowe’s (although he’s always been an a-hole) throwing a phone at a hotel staff member. I’m on Bale’s side on this. Yes he went too far with the cussing but this happened incident happened back in JULY! These types of blows up occur with A LOT of stars (more than you could imagine) because studio execs have their conversations tapped while on set (even the ones that are super private) because they’re “arfraid” that a Star of a certain film could walk off (quit) which is THE utterly most juvenile thing they could do and they have INSURANCE over it! Someone from the insurance company OBVIOUSLY leaked it which is really low since they should’ve kept it private in the first place.
Christian was filming an intense scene and he gets immersed into his work plus it was completely moronic of the DP to walked into the middle of the scene while they were filming.
Is it just me or did no one notice that halfway through CB had already calmed down and was asking people to continue filming but the DP guy was saying something in the background over and over to get him angry again…
We can’t really hear what he’s saying but somehow it gives the feeling that he is making excuses for his mistakes.

I would be stressed too answering all the questions about Heath Ledger and the pressure if this movie is not a hit it will fall on his shoulders. He is still an amazing actor and I love that he is committed to his work. Everything I have ever seen him in has been great.

Christian Bale would be my last choice if I were getting ready to cast a film. Behavior like his leads to delays, cost overruns, and general discontent on the set. He is not irreplaceable, in fact, there are a dozen better actors who’d kill for the parts he gets.
Besides, doesn’t he get that audiences ARE judgmental about actor’s personal lives? Russell Crowe, Jude Law, Britney Spears, Sienna Miller…I could go on. The point is, movie-making is a business and if an actor ruins the film’s box-office by acting like a two-year-old, he can all too easily be replaced. Look sharp, Bale.
He looks like one of those people that when they talk their tongue gets stuck in the way hahaha

yeah, i agree, he probly has some issues to work out. hes just and actor and doesnt need to speak to anyone like that. but he been one of my favorite actors for a loooooong time. so im not gonna throw any bullshit at him. but he does have some issues if hes ranting for four and a half minutes
