Hilary Duff Slams Faye Dunaway Right Back
Hilary Duff is set to fill screen legend Faye Dunaway’s shoes as one-part of the infamous 1930s bank-robbing duo Bonnie and Clyde in the indie drama, The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.
Last week, Faye supposedly zinged, ”Couldn’t they at least cast a real actress?”
Hilary has retaliated, telling E!, “I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don’t even know who she is, so you know…. I think it was a little unnecessary but I might be mad if I looked like that now too.”

Why IN THE WORLD would they even suggest Hillary Duff for such a classic role? I understand how you shouldn’t be so quick to judge but really? No one else stood out except Lizzie Mcguire?

I could never take Duff seriously. Its very rare to pull a Shia Lebeuf (sp?)
1, The original wasnt that great.
2, Just cos you win an Oscar it doesnt mean you are a great actress, loads have won for selling out and the film was crap.
3, have you seen the some of the films Faye was in? Like DUNSTON CHECKS IN, and Supergirl etc. crap! and badly over acted.
4 it says 10 x Academy Award-nominated — NOMINATED I dont know if it won anything, most award shows are fixed, they really dont mean anything these days, as the industry just pats its own back instead of those that really deserved it.
5, im not much of a fan lately, i hate that Hilary is selling out and selling her body instead of staying true to what she always said, that she has DIGNITY, theres NO dignity in FHM or MAXIM.
But as for being a singer, Hilary Duff IS a GREAT singer.
And as for being a real actress???
Hilary Duff is one of the BEST ACTRESSES FOR A LONG TIME, she is VERY BELEIVABLE in EVERY MOVIE that I have seen from “A Cinderella Story” through to “Raise Your Voice” and beyond.
I havent seen any of the newer movies since “MG”, and I didnt like “MG”, but I am a guy and I did cry in “ACS” and “RYV”, and I LOVE THOSE MOVIES.
Hilary Duff IS a REAL ACTRESS, as real actresses ACT and dont do p_orn to sell it like almost EVERYONE in the industry does. Jessica Alba sold out, Hally Berry SOLD OUT, Madonna Sold Out, Faye Sold out, TITS might sell a photo (to a bunch of sickos) but they dont make you an ACTRESS.

if the movie is being sold on someones body then it obviousely must be a film that is crap as they know a bunch of scum will see it for the bodies.

BTW, Faye Dunaway was/is notoriously unprofessional and difficult to work with.
I remember Bette Davis (who was a consummate professional, and a talent that far surpassed Dunaway’s) ripped Faye a new one in her autobiography, and refused to work with her.
While I agree Hilary Duff isnt exactly the best dramatic actress around, Faye Dunaway just made herself look like bitter and jealous old hag making catty remarks about her. She just should have wished her luck, and let the critics dish out the harsh remarks and comparisons when the movie came out. As for Hilary’s remarks…ha ha…a little low, but pretty funny.
No doubt Faye Dunaway was a good actress and many of her films are classics. I think she should have had the good taste and grace to congratulate Hillary Duff and wish her well instead of making tacky remarks obviously based on jealousy and resentment, typical of has been actors. Faye Dunaway, in spite of all the cosmetic work she had done recently, including new teeth, is less than graceful about aging and taking her place among the “stars” of yester-year. I have had several encounters with her through the years in Hollywood and she is not a nice person. I guess there must be some reason for her hostility and anger toward other people, both fans and stars. I wish her luck and good things anyway.
Hillary can’t act! I don’t care if Faye is old and looks it. It won’t change the fact that Hillary Duff couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag. At least Lindsey Lohan can act. Hillary, not much.

What was the last amazing role faye played? was it the angry old lady in dunston checks in? she’s a nobody now and just because your old doesn’t mean everyone has to kiss your ass. Old people would think otherwise, as they’ve shown here. Faye’s acting chops have earned her what exactly? a role in 21 and a wake up along side danica mckellar (winnie cooper - wonder years) and j.c.chasez (ex nsync member and ex mousecateer from the mickey mouse club). yeah faye, those are real actors. honestly, she’s in no place to have opened her mouth.
Everytime I hear Hillary Duff is in a movie, I automatically think I am not going to see that movie.

I can understand where Faye Dunaway is coming from Bonnie and Clyde was a classic seriously to have Hilary Duff who has not played a serious character or even tried to play on is kind of an insult to Classic Movies. For her to say that shows she has no respect for the legends.

Well these two are alot alike then aren’t they! They both end up sounding just typical and the Bonnie and Clyde that Faye acted in was really boring so unless they can snap it up, the one with Hillary will be boring too. Congrats to both for behaving equally badly over a really lame movie plot. Can anyone say: DESPERATE much!?

I hate to say it but Faye should have really kept her mouth shut or at least not dissed Hilary directly. Since she did, I think Hilary did just fine in defending herself.
I dont think anybody is saying not to do the remake of Bonnie & Clyde. I think the problem is who they pick to play a lead role as Bonnie’ s character. I cannot picture a Hillary Duff trying to play that part. She does not have the personality or strong enough to play the part. I dont think it has anything to do with being pretty, the person should have a personality at least to match the original. Hillary should thank her lucky star it wasnt Liz Taylor’ s movie and she would have said more. I agree Dakaot Fannie would be the perfect star for this role. This young actress has played different roles in all her movies. That little girl can play any role and play it so well. I think she has acted in more real movies that hillary.
