Jessica Simpson rocks a Burberry newsboy cap as she lands in Cincinnati, Ohio on her way back to Dallas to see her boyfriend Tony Romo on Monday.
The 28-year-old country singer continues to receive attention for her fuller figure, which was first noted last week as she sang at the Chili Cookoff in Florida.
The Today Show’s Matt Lauer spoke to President Obama in a pre-Super Bowl interview and mentioned that him and his family were removed from the US Weekly’s cover shoot to make room for the hot topic of Jessica Simpson’s weight. Obama coyly responded, “Yeah, it’s a little hurtful!” Then he continued looking at the cover, saying [that Jessica is] “in a weight battle, apparently. Yeah. Oh well.”

I never thought I would ever say this . . .poor jessica, leave her alone. It is weight people, ir is not like she has done something wrong. No wonder people have self esteem and eating disorders.
She wore a pink bikini and daisy dukes begging for us to look at her body. Now she has turned into two tundra and we are suppose to look the other way? Yeah I don’t think so. She brought this on herself.

Ashlynn, get your facts straight honey. Obama was simply reading the headline on the magazine. Doubt he has time to care about JS’s weight gain. At least he can read unlike Bush who can barely string together a coherent sentence.

I think the rest of the world should follow by his example. When asked to comment about the subject, he gave it as much acknowledgement as SHOULD BE GIVEN!! Yeah sucks she’s fighting with her weight, oh well…she’ll deal with it. AND MOVE ON!!! Since when did our society become one where skinny people become fat is Front page headline news?!?!?! Maybe the problem isn’t the hollywood stars its the journalists who can’t seem to draw enough intelligence to come up with a real story!!!

Matt Lauer said on the Today Show (after airing part of the interview) that Obama was indeed just commenting on the title on the magazine, not actually saying she has a weight problem. People need to stop making it sound like the President was making fun of JS.

i hate that this is even trying to be made into news. i saw that interview, he was reading the cover, and said it slightly sarcastically.
he wasn’t looking at her figure and saying whoa, what a fatty.
he was reading the title of the magazine, that Matt put in front of him, and replaced him, this site is going down, how could you lie on the president when there is video? duh, look for yourself before jumping on the band wagon.
It’s ridiculous that people are acting as though President Obama was actually talking about Jessica Simpson. If you watch the interview he clearly was reading the headline on the magazine cover. I’m sure he had no idea this was even a topic, what with being a little bit busy dealilng with our crumbling economic structure, war, and everythign else that is going on. I didn’t even vote for the guy but c;mon people use a little common sense - he isn’t an idiot.

The comment Barack made was not bad. I saw the interview and I didn’t think anything of it.
Obama is obsessed with imself so he was of course mad he’s already off the front page NEXT…
1. he’s reading Twilight because he has two girls that probably want to read them and as a good parent he should be aware of what they are reading and if it’s not appropriate he should say not right now, when you are a little older. so I applaud him. that ‘tude is way better than the folks that want to shove their opinions on the world saying this or that book is obscene and bad for all kids and to top it off they never read the thing they are shouting about
2. he’s got a point. a magazine put a star’s supposed weight issue as more important and the country getting to know the man who is now running things.
3. personally I think that Jessica looks like crap. she’s pudgy, it looks like she’s not eating well or probably working out and to make it worse she’s dressing like crap. but hey if that’s she wants to be so be it. I”m not the boss of her. I can’t tell her what to do. but the country and the girls in it might be better off if there was some more ‘oh well’ attitudes out there. because it’s putting that kind of thing on magazine covers that promotes this ‘you have to be pencil thin or you suck’ attitude that makes girls lose weight until they kill themselves.
President Obama has better things to do than sully his mind with Jessica Simpson.

He never should have mentioned it. If someone else would have said that about his wife or daughters then everyone would be crying How unfair it is. He needs to be held to a Higher standard.
