President Obama Weighs In On Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson rocks a Burberry newsboy cap as she lands in Cincinnati, Ohio on her way back to Dallas to see her boyfriend Tony Romo on Monday.
The 28-year-old country singer continues to receive attention for her fuller figure, which was first noted last week as she sang at the Chili Cookoff in Florida.
The Today Show’s Matt Lauer spoke to President Obama in a pre-Super Bowl interview and mentioned that him and his family were removed from the US Weekly’s cover shoot to make room for the hot topic of Jessica Simpson’s weight. Obama coyly responded, “Yeah, it’s a little hurtful!” Then he continued looking at the cover, saying [that Jessica is] “in a weight battle, apparently. Yeah. Oh well.”
WHAT DO YOU THINK about President Obama’s comments about Jessica Simpson — not nice or not news?

my God, enough of this man!!!! God, I can’t STAND him!!! geez, this Bush had said this, it would have been all over the front page of the newspapers! but, oh no…since it’s Obama, we don’t care cuz we think he’s God!!!
why the heck did this country elect him as president?!?
some of you people need to get a life . president obama was only quoting what was on the magazine cover. he would not give jessica the time of day let along put her down for her weight issues. he has more important things to worry about like running this country! grow up people.
She doesn’t deserve ANY publicity - good or bad. Her father must be jumping for joy with yet another media blitz about his offspring. What a farce.
No you have it wrong, watcht the video of him saying this.
He points to the magazine that has a picture of Jessica Simpson on it and right under her picture it says WEIGHT BATTLE, he pointed to the picture adn said “apparently shes in a weight battle.oh. oh well”
he was NOT saying she was FAT he was just reading the headline under her picture.

^ look he wasnt calling her FAT at all.
and i totally agree with #19
after having jessica images as daisy duke in hot pants washing a red car … i think we should recognize she put on some weight..
she still looks great (from a female point of view) however, we should all recognize she looked stunning, amzing (or even “better”) few months ago (from anyone else point of view)
and yeah, by the way, your president acted as a human. recognizing the evidence…(and of course being surprised of being cut off by the “weight problems” of a country singer…)
all of you dumb ass feminists that thing he’s being a man and calling jessica fat need to watch the video, then get a clue. get off your estrogen high and just chill out! sorry that he’s only human and not a robot that says all the right things! and as for the economy, he’s only been in the office for a month… A MONTH. if you know how our economy works, then you’d know everyone needs to have patience because it’s not something that can be fixed in a month. hell, we might not even be the world that we were in four years!
i think it’s wrong that people just jump on what he said. i mean, that sentence “in a weight battle, apparently.” can be read differently by different people. to me it just means he was just repeating the headline and saying that “oh jessica simpson’s in a weight battle, they say” cause apperently can mean, “yup, forsure” or “oh, so they say.” i think it’s the latter. i still believe in obama — until he leads us to the wrong path.
this is not news. he hasn’t been president for long and look wts happening. how can u say u cnt wait until hes gone wen he has hardly done anything yet. this is ridiculous.
lol u guys should really listen to how ridiculous u sound.. if the worst dirt anyone could get on the guy is how he comments on jessica simpsons weight gain then hes obviously not doing a bad job. he obviously didnt mean it like that and its ridiculous that this is even the subject when the country is in a crisis right now… if jessica simpson is more important to us than a man whos trying to fix this country then we’re in trouble…
Maybe Obama should be paying more attention on our current recession rather than what Jessica Simpson is saying.
I think that Obama should have been more of a gentleman and made no comment at all to Lauer’s comment of the cover photo. It’s called being more considerate of other’s feelings than of your own pride. I can only imagine what the buzz would have been had someone said the same thing about his wife Michelle.
