Gwyneth Paltrow reveals her dark side for the March 2009 cover of Elle UK magazine’s annual fashion issue.
“I saw this blog of people writing horrible things about me. And, you know, for a second you lose perspective and your ego is so wounded. You think, how could people hate me or hate my intentions or what I’m trying to do? I’m a good person and I’m trying to put good things into the world,” Gwyneth, 36, said.
“I am who I am. I can’t pretend to be somebody who makes £15,000 a year. That would be completely inauthentic. I know what my intention [with her email newsletter Goop] is – and if it makes one person’s life better, then it’s worth it. And f**k the haters!”
Gwyneth also shared about her marriage with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and show down rumors that their marriage was headed for trouble. “It doesn’t behoove us to be a public couple. He certainly doesn’t want to be that. So it’s just better if we don’t – I mean, we’ve never ever walked down a red carpet together, we never will. If people think that that means we’re not together, then – ha ha ha! – so be it.”

What a pretentious hag
For the first time ever, i agree with her.There is just an insane amount of hate on blogs, people spewing hate, this site is a nice proof of that.
But since i have a great life, and dont feel the need to hate on celebrities in order to feel better about myself, and my exsistance i will treat all those comments with contempt they deserve, just like her.

She is right, why do people go around speculating about a persons life when all anyone knows is what the media-news-tabloids wants us to hear or see with their own spin. I think all this reveals is how self-absorbed she is…I have always found the explanation to why her and Chris refuse to appear in public together ridiculous…I think they both think a lot more of themselves then the media does…if they showed up together at a public event, I wouldn’t even bat my eye…who cares anyway?? They believe that people are obsessed with them and that the media will stalk them…all I think when I look at them is- boring and pretentious…

I will never get why some people would take a strangers words so serious. So what? Even if 100 people hate you (as an actor) there is million out there who feels the opposite.
I feel sorry for this woman. Her parents did not prepare her for the real world. She views anyone who’s critical of her as a “hater.” Very similar to the statement she gave in a USA Today interview when asked about people who criticized Goop. She didn’t even inquire what the actual criticisms were, just immediately dismissed any critics are unhappy people. She won’t make it very far in the business world with that attitude.
It has nothing to do with having money. It has to do with the fact that she can’t stop talking about herself. Why do celebrities automatically assume that the public is as shallow as they are? I’d love a smart, in-depth interview with someone who isn’t on the cover of every magazine who is in the news once in a blue moon than to see someone like Gwyneth who hasn’t done anything relevant in film in YEARS over and over and over again.
If you promise to stop talking about yourself and not be on any magazine covers we will gladly stop giving you any attention!! You are a self-absorbed boring person!!
If Gwyneth doesn’t want people commenting on her life, she shouldn’t be putting herself out there or public consumption. She could still be an actress and not do these constant interviews. For a supposedly private person, she sure does a lot of gabbing. She seems to enjoy the attention.

Money is definitely not why she’s so disliked. There are many stars with a lot more money who are well-liked. For someone who is supposed to be so ‘evolved’, you’d think she’d take stock and try to figure out why so many people don’t like her. She’s apparently too self-absorbed to do so and looks down on anyone who doesn’t worship her. She’s a truly ugly woman inside and out.

As a fan of her work who will always watch her films, I freely admit she meets the criteria for pretentious. It doesn’t have much to do with her vocabulary so much as her overall behavior. She is characterized by an assumption of dignity or importance and has a definite tendency to rub people the wrong way with her attitude.
Anyone reading a negative comment can be affected by it but they’re par for the course, especially being a celebrity. I agree with the person who suggested she give honest reflection to why she’s so unpopular. It might do her some good. Otherwise, if she can’t stand the heat that comes with the trappings of fame, she needs to get out of the kitchen instead of selling cookbooks.

I think Gwyneth is actually pretty inarticulate. She doesn’t have much to say in her televised interviews and seems to stick to a script. That’s why she needs to resort to potty mouth comments. She also doesn’t dress very well and seems to be going through an early mid-life crisis.
She’s right. Why should people who don’t even know them make ugly, anonymous comments about celebrities? Gwyneth happens to be intelligent, talented, beautiful, rich, and married to a gorgeous man with two lovely children.
It’s simple, really: a lot of people are jealous of her.

I don’t buy the jealousy defense. There are tons of women in the entertainment industry more attractive and seemingly more intelligent than Paltrow who are very well-liked . Gwyneth may have a lot of money but she doesn’t seem to be a happy person and people seem to sense that. That’s why she needs to make ignorant generalizations and use crass language. If she wants to improve how she’s perceived, she should try “nourishing” her own “inner aspect” and give more thought to how she expresses herself. More consideration to her grooming might also help too. She’s been looking rather ridiculous lately.
